Such a nice place, overlooking oceanfront. Food was very delicious, we took fish of the day for two, and the portion was more than plenty. For wine we chose pico wine. I decided to have my birthday dinner there and was very happy with the decision.
Make sure to take something warm for the evening chilly breeze. Sunset views are marvelous from veranda.

A great restaurant with some of the best island sea food.
The service is really good and the view is breathtaking.
If you can reserve the tables with the sea view, outside.

Fabulous Meal. We had the tuna and the vegetable lasagna, as well as a lovely bottle of Portuguese wine. Bonnie thoroughly enjoyed her vegetable lasagna. I had a small taste. Delicious cheese sauce. My tuna steaks were perfectly cooked rare. They substituted a tasty green oil based sauce that came with the other tuna dish. It was fantastic. It came with sweet potatoes and carrot based vegetables. It was at least 300 grams (10 ounces) of tuna. We came in for fish soup a few days before and it was also great. We are staying nearby for the next 4 weeks and will be back.

The atmosphere was relaxing and pleasant. The view across the street to the ocean is relaxing and beautiful. The staff was great. I’ve experienced dining staff in Sao Miguel that act like they can’t be bothered. This place is the complete opposite. They were extremely professional and friendly. We had a great chilled white wine and Lapas appetizer to starts. Fantastic! My wife had the fillets of fish with mango sauce. She enjoyed it but said it would have been better if the mango was made into a relish. I had the steak Frizzado Lombinho cut. Comes with hand cut fries on the side. Absolutely hands down one of the best Portuguese steaks I’ve had. Followed by a gallo coffee for my wife and an espresso for me. Definitely on my recommendation list and I will be going back. Portuguese steak sauce lovers will not be disappointed.

Went here twice. The food is okay, nothing special, absolutely not bad either though! The waiting times before you get food can be better. It’s a bit hit or miss. I do understand, as the place always seems to be very busy.

This is an update to my original review: I’m going to up this to 5 stars. Went here again today for lunch and it was great.

Another amazing experience in the Azores... We went a bit off route, but we were lucky enough to find Alabote.

The entrance "Morcela" with pineapple was a great starter, but the hero's the Braised Tuna... Delicious and the Wreckfish Puff Pastry was also amazing. Good portions with a lot of side dishes, we normally go for desert, but not this time...

Amazing and ofc the staff were very friendly and always eager to help and provide suggestions.

Great food for reasonable prices.

Nice restaurant with sea-view. Reserverations recommeded!

Big portions - so you get quality and quantity for the money! The small starters plate nearly was enough :D

Food was very tasty and staff friendly. Nice place to spend and evening and enjoy the sunset.

Good food. Three vegetarian/vegan dishes (but only one was available the night we went). Incredible views of the sea from the large Terrance seating.

This was my favourite restaurant on the whole island! Had the market fish with veggies and it was very fresh and delicious. My friend’s octopus also tasted and looked delicious. Shrimp salad was pretty good, but my fish dish was the best. Great service and good location. Would totally recommend this place for dinner.

I ate here twice and highly recommend it. The food is tasty and authentical. After 18:00 is this place very busy and you may need a reservation. Last but not least is the view over the ocean just amazing!

One of the fancier places in Ribeira Grande. Has an outdoor seating area as well with a nice view of the ocean. Staff are professional but a bit distant. A lot of items with some vegetarian options. Note that not all items are available during lunch. Food is good. Has the benefit on being open on a Sunday (a rarity on the island), and reservations are highly recommended.

This restaurant was just down the street from our hotel and we enjoyed two meals there. If the weather is good, the terrace is the place to eat especially in the evening as you can watch the sunset over the ocean. We had one meal on the terrace and one meal another night inside.
The service is friendly, although it is busy the staff try to be attentive. There is a lot to choose from on the menu. I can recommend the braised tuna - it's not what I was expecting and it was delicious! Steak and tuna dishes are good as well. We really enjoyed wreckfish casserole for two as well - a lot of fish and seafood in it! Good selection of wine and good selection of local traditional dishes.

Gréât place to dine while watching the sunset.
Food was amazing
I recommend the white sangria with passion fruit and lime …
Service was a bit slow due to the amount of people eating there
It all the waiters were very pleasant and professional 😊

This place was recommended by someone in the area after finding out the restaurant we initially wanted to go to was closed for hours. This is one of the only ones that remains open when most are closed and even during this time the food is fresh and service is quick of course since there’s limited people. Between the hours of 4-6pm. We came here 2 more times during our stay in Sao Miguel. I will be back here the next time also. The young servers are funny and know their stuff. They really make this place have good energy. We ate inside because one day it was too hot to eat out and the other it was too windy. But I do recommend the terrace with breathtaking views.

Delicious food for a good price. The view outside is amazing. Steaks and Shrimps are very good. Parking directly at the Restaurant for free.

Excellent Azorean cuisine and friendly service. The food is simple and made from obviously fresh and local produce. Atun, bacalhau na telha and polvo stew are quite something. Great experience and taste!

Good food and ambience can help make a night special. But when people respond in kindness and warmth a moment gets downright magical. As our waiter brought a cheesecake for my spouse and I to share at the end of our meal, I happened to mention we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. Minutes later, he brought two glasses of champagne and another dessert for us to share. The gift was unexpected and genuine and special for the two of us. Cheers to Alabote, and especially the people who work the tables. They are kind, patient and cognizant of the multitude of moments that may be a happening around them.
