Boteco do Miguel

Awesome pizza and the owner was great!! As a fellow Canadian, we shared lots of stories. The hospitality and food was great. Wish they made pizza like that in our neighbourhood back home.

Visiting the island and after a long day of exploring, stopped at the grocery store but were too tired to cook. We lucked out and chose to go to Boteco do Miguel. The owner was very friendly and spoke English very well. The pizza was very good, certainly the best we have had for years. We were going to take it to go, but decided to eat in, which was a good decision. It was excellent fresh from the oven. We will make it a priority to go back before we leave to go home. The free parking lot across the street (enter from the back) made it super easy to stop and eat.

The food is outstanding. Everything from the garlic bread to the customizable pizzas is world-class. The location is really convenient for those with kids. Nice garden atmosphere. This is my favorite place to eat on the entire island.

This is a fantastic place to go with your family or by yourself for quality food and fantastic service. Family owned and operated - they make you feel right at home. Ask about the island, how to get around, what to do here, or just have a friendly conversation with the locals. The food and atmosphere here are wonderful, and the family inviting you in is even better.

Great pizza. I make my own so I’m pretty picky. Miguel does a nice thin crust. Very friendly service. Casual ambience in a food court.

We really enjoyed our visit to Boteco do Miguel. Really good fries, great pizza (thin & crispy), good beer/wine - with perfect customer service. It certainly hit the spot after a day walking 🙂

Went here for late lunch based on reviews and we were not disappointed! Friendly & warm service, freshly made pizza (with the most delicious thin crust) and a very cute area! When we asked for meter change, we were instantly directed to super close free parking which was a bonus! Would definitely recommend anyone in the area to go here!

Very friendly and efficient service, staff are so nice and accommodating! Had a pizza with a nice crispy crust and good quality toppings. You can choose from 4 different sizes and then add 1 meat topping and 3 vegetable toppings of your choice. Also had the local cat join at the table for company 😅

Miguel and his Staff are great hosts. The pizza is very good, you can choose your ingredients. It is not Italian or American style, it has its unique style but worth trying! It is located inside the welcoming Ribeira grande Market. Good price as well.

A very friendly owner, delicious pizza, and very reasonable prices. It's located inside an old market place, now a food court. Looks a bit strange from the outside, but once you enter, it's quite nice, lots of locals which is always a good sign.

It's a spot on a food court than works without a break. Very friendly host who speaks English. Tasty pizza

This place was awesome, great pizza and even better wings. They were very thoughtful and helpful. My boyfriend's phone got wet before we got there and they went out of their way to help us get rice to put it in. (Don't even think rice is on the menu?) Excellent people at a delicious meal destination. We will be coming back when we visit again.

They have live music on Wednesdays at 10 pm. Great spot to stop for drinks and a meal.

Great food, great service, the owner is awesome and friendly guy. The pizza dough is made homemade daily and the chicken wing sauce is homemade as well. We went back 3 times over our 6 days in Sao Miguel. If you’re from California like us, ask for the wings extra spicy.

We went here after a lengthy hike and it hit the spot. Miguel was so friendly, inviting, and accommodating. He split our pizza three ways to allow all of us to pick our preferred toppings. Pizza toppings were also plentiful and delicious. As we were leaving, Miguel have us many suggestions for the area and made us feel very welcome in the Azores! This place is definitely worth a stop if you are in the Ribeira Grande area.

The pizza was really amazing! I had the wings, and they were really the best wings I have ever had. It's a super secret recipe from the chef owner. Miguel and his wife were super friendly. They made sure we were taken care of. We will be back again for sure!

A food hall with different places to dine. Food and staff were excellent. Very friendly and couldn't be more helpful and accommodating!

After a hike at the Lagos do Fogo we found this gem of a place! Parked along the main road in front of the beach and found it in the food courtyard after google sent us in a circle. Staff was super courteous, had great suggestions and then followed it up with delicious, thin crusted pizza! You won’t be disappointed!

Huge and delicious pizza served with a smile, and a lovely conversation. Would definitely recommend a visit!
