PH Gastropub

Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the portions were large and the prices were more than reasonable. I've eaten here a few times during my visit and havent been disappointed. It seems to be a two man team and they work so hard, this place can get busy which slows service but it's definitely worth the wait. They speak great English and have an English menu which proved especially comforting and useful on our first night here. With a bottle of wine, a few starters and two mains, we spent 35€. 😋😋😋

By the first look; this looks like a simple sports bar with maybe some chips and nuts to serve. But don’t judge a book by it’s cover. It’s actually my favorite place in Ribeira Grande after staying here for a week and trying different fancy - and non fancy places. The hotel we stay at (Verde Mar) “wouldn’t recommend it” even though they said several of their guest were pleased with it. Probably because it doesn’t fit their “5-star hotel profile”. The only minus was that we had to wait a bit for the food, but as long as your prepared to wait a little extra, while sipping your drink this is a very good choice! We had tuna stake and shrimp tacos, both lovely. Their appetizers are also great. We had spinach crochets and chicken wings. Happy with everything and the portions are generous.

Amazing! We went there every day of our vacation and still talk about looking forward to going back. On Saturday night there was live music what was great. We tried almost everything on the menu and it was all super delicious! Can't wait to go back!

Huge portions and reasonably priced! Massive homemade burger in a soft, giant, fresh bun. Local beer is nice and refreshing and service is very friendly, helpful, and they speak perfect English.

Really nice place to have a dinner or lunch. Tasty food and friendly staff. Tuna - what I ate with sweet potato, was amazing 😊

Wo order thunsteak and beefsteak and the food was very nice, housmade sweetpotatos frites and housmade frites was unbelieveble :)

We went here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered the special hamburger and it was one of the best I've had in a long time. The bun was fresh and the meat juicy and tasty, with a good amount of fries on the side. The place is atmospheric with relaxing music in the background and the staff was kind and helpful.

Friendly owner, deco can be arrange differently and a bit more welcoming and Guinness on tap is defenetly not serve there , even with pictures all around the bar !

One of the best places for eat in Ribeira Grande, especially if you have enough of fish and just want something classic. Service is perfect, fast, really friendly and supportive, eg. in the wine selection (I recommend the green wine). The food is really tasty, we had the tuna and beef taco and the vegetarian and chicken wrap. The kitchen is also very fast and the food is delicious. Hope to come back on our next trip to Sao Miguel.

Absolutely outstanding! Moved to Portugal 6 days ago and this by FAR the friendliest place with excellent food. We have yet to decide where to settle and PH Gastropub has put a bid for us to settle in RG. I would eat here several times a week if I lived here.

Great experience, the food was really well prepared and the ingredients tasty.
We tried a hummus, a burger and a tuna wrap, we drinked two beers and we payed less than 25€.
We couldn't ask for anything better.
