I love Tavira and I love the island it's an amazing place to visit to spend time great for families .Fantastic beaches You can get the Ferry from the center at the moment tickets are €2.50 per adult each way and €1.10 per child up to 10 years each way there's restaurants in the island and a small shop prices are fair

Probably the best beach in the Algarve. After walking past all the sunbeds at the start of the beach for about a quarter of a mile there's a fantastic nudist area which never gets crowded and you have loads and loads of space to yourself.

Really stunning beach to visit. You can get the ferry here then walk all along the beach to get to the anchor beach and have some octopus in Santa Luzia.

Nice beach on an island before Tavira. Lots of dining possibilities, beaches with or without the possibility of chair and parasol rental. Easy 20m ferry ride out of the centre of Tavira.

Beautiful white sand dune beach with little bars and fresh fish restaurants. Surprisingly tranquil for a very popular spot. One of the best beaches on the Algarve. Walk ten mins down the beach for plenty of space and privacy.

Delightful place. Beaches and more private areas, camping and other accommodation. Bars for food and drinks. Life guards. Sun, sea and sand. Good ferry service from Tavira. Go there and enjoy it

Excellent beach to visit
Get the ferry from Tavira riverside or at Quatro Aguas
2.50 return from Tavira
20 min ride
On a Large ferry boat
Check for the timings about every 30mins in the season less out
Walk the track to the beach you pass a few snack bars and restaurants
The beach in front is really busy... I prefer to turn right towarda the Xiri beach bar and fooled the decking and walk past the parasols to the que it end of the beach..... The beach usually quieter

Love it... Should visit more

A lovely beach to spend the day. It is a long beach so lovely for a walk. We went out of season so a lot of the restaurants were closed but the beach was nearly deserted so we had a wonderful peaceful day.

Had a fab day out. Started in Cabanas de Tavira , walked to Tavira to get some early lunch and then the ferry to Tavira Island, Lunch was bigger than expected and missed the ferry to the island, wasn't hanging aboot for 90 mins so looked around some fab old town back streets of Tavira then headed to Santa Luzia just along the coast. Stopped off in a church garden where there was orange blossom. Before this holiday we are on I had never sniffed this delight of pure wonderfullness. It's up there with Jasmine flowers, just amazing. So walked out to Santa Luzia , passed lemons trees and numerous orange plantations. It's a great we place with a false sea, walked further to the bridge go get to the island, the small train had just arrived so decided to take this to help our wee leggies later in the day. Cost was just over €3 for the two of us. Took some photos then off for a 3 1/2 mile walk to the east to get the ferry back to Tavira. Sea temp was only 15ish degrees but felt so good. Shells everywhere to pick Amongst. Love this place, for about two miles there was no one around us. Sea birds here and there, Kentish Plovers always about 20 meters ahead, scurrying away from the incoming waves, their quick moving legs keeping them away from the incoming sea, just a wonderful sight. Arrived at area with bars and restaurants and had a beer before heading to the ferry to Tavira. Fab day out in a wonderfull place. On way back looking through Binoculars seen a flock of Flamingos (maybe 100 coming on to land) . Also good chance of Spoonbills, Egrets, Herons, Stilts, Plovers, Eurasian Magpies etc. Recommend this area to all. Cheers and enjoy. 😁😁🤪😜🤪😜

Excellent Blue Flag clean beach. My advise if you choose to go is to go earlier in the day, hire 2 sunbeds and umbrella (€15) and stay until 6, as after this time queue for the compulsory ferry back to the main land is long and you may need to wait over hour in queue. The ferry takes 200+[?] people and goes every half hour. Tickets are (2.20 per adult return and bought at pier
