A long and spacious ocean beach. You can get there by small train (2€ one way). There are cafe, toilets, souvenir shop, wooden benches, "cemetery" of anchors.

Long beach 🏖 with excellent sand and a beautiful track.

There isn't so much free 🅿 parking there but there is a pay parking 🅿 that is reasonable.

There is around 1.1km way to get to the beach ⛱.

You can walk or you can take the train 🚂 that is cheap (2€). I'd rather go walking since the track is beautiful and you can easily watch the local animals that are there like the crabs.

if you like ria, sea, and a good walking this is a beautiful place to visit, and if walking is not for you, be calm, there is a train, round trip €2.

Lovely beach with a fun train ride for the kids. Great complex of cafes and restaurants just before reaching the beach and the clean public toilets are handy. Parking is along the road can be busy so best to get there early in the day to avoid a long walk to get to the train station. Beach itself was great. Perfect for kids.

Beautiful Nature Beach. Plenty of space to choose either crowd or loneliness. If you go right you may find naturist people enjoying the sun and water

Tip: if you want to be alone keep walking. Check windy.app wind forecast before you go.

If you don't care if the rest of the beach is a naturalists option, keep walking for up to 5 km to the right after arrival and you will find great locations. The waves can be wild if it wind in the green/yellow (windy). The first 10m into the water are also suitable for kids who can swim.

Really love this beach. Care is taken to protect wildlife. There a is wooden walkway along the beach with sun loungers if you want to rent. Enjoyed the cute railway. Only thing missing are a few showers or water taps.

Brilliant clean beach, beautiful spot to spend a day.

We went late March and still not too busy. Good facilities including toilets, restaurants, good recycling options all over the beach, loved the little bench seats with shade looking out to sea - this made a lovely spot to eat a packed lunch.

It's worth visiting if only to see the anchor graveyard - so beautiful.

Even in March parking was quite a walk away, I'd recommend arriving before midday to avoid the long walk but it is free parking all along the road. There is a paid for car park quite close but the price was fairly high for short stays, from memory it was €12 or €14 for "all day".

If you do have a long walk for parking at least you can hop on the small train to avoid the walk from the entry to the beach.

Such a lovely day was had down on the beach, we got the train there, enjoyed a dip and then walked back. Parked the car on the main car park, it was very reasonably priced.
Lovely day out, it's been a long time since we were there we used to take our kids, now we are taking our grandchild.
Lovely!

Really interesting place to visit. I'm not sure of the full story but I believe it was where the fishermen left their anchors in the sand after the tuna fishing industry started to die out in this area. Very beautiful beach.

Huge and clean beach! Great place! You can reach it by easy hike or you can also take a local tram (you probably need to buy ticket in advance). It’s a bit tough to find a parking spot, but it’s possible to park in Santa Luzia if you don’t mind walking

A well-serviced beach in any season. The train is nice, especially for people with children or walking problems; otherwise the short journey is lovely through the beach hinterland.

Beach has a restaurant, kiosk, and some information on the history and ecology of the area.

Very nice beach. My favorite part was how clean the water and sand were, no rocks or anything like that.

A wonderful place. Golden sands, clear waters, and a serene atmosphere make this beach a paradise. With amenities, friendly vendors, and unspoiled beauty, it's a tranquil escape for everyone. A visit promises an enjoyable experience in nature's simplicity.

Nice beach, with a different way than other Portuguese beaches to reach to. You have a nice path to walk, pass the bridge on the river, and then you can use the cute train to get to beach or walk (takes 10 minutes).
You'll see the historical Tuna fishery, nice anchor graveyard, and can chill on the beach if it's not windy.

This is by far one of my favourite beaches. So calm and clean, and very spacious. Amazing views.

Was empty when I visited, but I am sure that it gets busier in the summer months.

There is a 10 minute walk from the car park, or you could take a small train for €1.80. Might not be as busy as other beaches in the Algarve as it is harder to reach.

Nice restaurant and coffee shop nearby, as well as the archor cemetery.
