If I lived in this area I would be a regular at this market. It has a fantastic selection of fresh fish, fresh meats, basic vegetables and some surprises like an amazing selection of ground spices, chillies and dried beans from around the world.

I highly recommend going early in the day. On the Saturday we went there was also a flea market adjacent to the market.

Highly recommend this indoor daily (except Sunday) market for fresh produce of all kinds. Absolutely great selection. Go daily and pick up inspiration and ingredients for that night’s dinner. There is also a fish market (closed Mondays) and a butcher as well as flowers and baked goods. First, third and fourth Saturday of the month there is also a flea/ antique market outside the building with a huge number of vendors. There are several cafes and small restaurants attached to the building so you can spend several hours here, with a plan rest in between.

Open daily. Good place to buy local vegetables and fruit. There are a few butcher shops and plenty of fish vendors. Fresh bread and buns are also available. Saturday they have an outdoor area where used goods and crafts are sold.

The stalls of local vendors are selling the things you need for the cupboard. There are multiple butchers and fishmongers.

Absolutely incredible covered market with wide aisles and a jaw dropping array of local produce. Meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, spices, honey, local salt, and more! Shoppers and photographers heaven!

Great vegetable and fish market well worth a visit

Went around 10am on Wednesday morning. Only about 25% of stalls were selling things. However the fish and meat were very fresh. Purchased a fish and half kilo of shrimp as well as some lovely tomatoes and loquats.

Unfortunately I came a bit late so 4/5th of the fish was already gone. Still enough to see to get an idea of the richness of the ocean.
There is also a nice stand with spices.

Great fresh food, Portuguese chickens, black pig and a huge variety of fish and shellfish. Excellent seasonal vegetables and fruits. Avoid the supermarket and go where they know how to look after food!

It did not take long to find my favorite vendors for fish, vegetables and meat.

Great place, great atmosphere, it is an absolute must to visit Antonio do Cinema bar,beyond doubt the best pump Sagres in Tavira.

A great experience, fresh everything and the butchers are fantastic.

Lovely fresh fruit and veg, they also had lots of fresh fish for sale, as well as local produce like honey and roasted nuts. We went on a Saturday and also really enjoyed the flea market outside.

This market is one of the best I have ever visited, the produce is outstanding and the variety is also incredible. You should go early to get some of the freshest produce. Recommend to anyone, it's a real pleasure to shop there!!

Saturday used and second hand market day, market well stocked with interesting and fascinating items.
Had a walk into market to see the amount of interesting fish and other foods from the ocean. Fruit and veg, and fresh butcher stalls.

Great market with all sorts of produce. The spice stall as you walk in is like going into the bazaar in Morocco. Loads of meat, fish and fruit and vegetables as well as honey, nuts and seeds. Well worth a visit

Great market frequented by locals & tourists alike. Not open on Sundays, stocked with fresh fsh most days when open (not Mondays so much as the trawlers don't go to sea on Sunday, although fish is available on Monday it's not as fresh), good quality local meat and locally grown fruit & vegetables
Update: October '22, after the harvest and some bad weather, has seen a very busy day at the market, which is laden with fresh fish, fruit, veg & meat

Lovely market with loads of fresh fishes, seafood and more! If you want to prepare a great meal in good company, that’s definitely the place to go :)
