Golden Club Cabanas

Great value for money for a long winter stay. We used this for the second year to escape the cold. The service is great and the position of the hotel is very good. The area is not too touristic, quiet with beautiful countryside. The free boat service to the beach is great and the cabanas Isle beach is outstanding. Great for walking on the sandy beach when the weather is good and sunny. It is about 8km long. When the weather is not good we used the inside heated swimming pool.
For winter you need a south facing apartment with sea view. It makes a lot of difference.

Rooms very clean lots of hot water for showers, heating worked , bed reasonably comfortable , extra blankets appreciated because it was cold, the room could have had a few pictures to soften it's appearance but nothing really to complain about. The grounds are very well kept,heated swimming pool, gardens, cafe bar nice to watch the sun go down .

Rooms are 3 star. But perfectly clean and adequate for a family. The resort is fantastic and location is excellent. We were really happy with our stay. Thank you.

Just came back from a week here. It was a beautiful experience and everything about it was magical. The hotel was clean and rooms were huge with everything one could wish for. Pools were amazing, beach and boats were beautiful. All great 👍🏼 the staff of the hotel go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. I would like to mention Valerie, David and Ines and say they are an asset to your hotel. They certainly helped us make the best of our holiday. All the staff are friendly. Food was good but not much choice if your vegetarian.

All in all one of the nicest, calmest and relaxing holiday destinations I've had.

I'll start with - all depend on your expectations.
I have visited this place recently on my own. After I had booked it, I noticed bad reviews, which made me a little bit nervous (bad reviews). It is quite a big complex and if you are placed in further buildings (like me) you definitely will have some walking to do, but I didn't mind.
It is definitely a bit dated resort, but it wasn't as bad as most bad reviews said. I have spent a really pleasant time but bare in mind it was the start of October and not many people around (which I like)
The room was spacious with its own kitchen. For.me it was clean.
Amenities such as bars or pool are very good. 2 swimming pools separate from each other and fairly big. All clean.
The restaurant is I think the newest off it all. Food in it was very tasty. Maybe repetitive, but in my 4, it wasn't an issue.
There are some night shows and daytime activities but I wasn't interested in them so I can't comment on that.
You can get to the beach via boat transfer and is very quick about 1min. Sadly, there is no toilet on the beach or sunbeds, so if you are coming with kids, it is something you need to have in mind. All in all, it was a great place to visit and I would not mind going there again.

A brilliant place to stay in the off-season, when the price per night is very reasonable. Staff are friendly and the facilities are good — we loved the steam room/sauna/indoor pool and the speedy access to the beach.

Our room was large, with a good if dated bathroom, a balcony, a kitchenette and strong WiFi provided by a room-specific router. The kitchenette is a bit limited without an oven, but we were able to make a fry-up and cook some pasta, and the fridge is very useful.

Parking is only just off the road, but in bays alongside the hotel. We were able to park right in front of our balcony, and there was plenty of space.

The town is an easy walk away. It's quiet in winter, but plenty of bars and restaurants were still open when we visited.

Friendly staff, spacious apartments good food and options for activities. Private beach (reached by hotel boat) great option. Conveniently located, close to local restaurants and shops. Also close to bus stop to go further afield. Great local walks and a closeby train station to go further afield.

Amazing stay, we paid all inclusive and meals were lovely and a large variety of drinks were all inclusive, including a cocktail of the day. Staff were nice enough to do cocktails from previous days if you knew what they were. Cigarette machine in reception and only a 5 minute walk from the coast line. Amazing green open spaces on resort with a boat that takes you down to the beach across the water between the seperation in land. The path to the boat was unfortunately underwater on our way back to the resort so we had to walk through it to get onto the boat but an amazing place for a long walk in the morning with beautiful coloured shells scattered across the shore.

Perfect location to really have the vacatuon feeling. Staff is really helpfull and the facillities are great. Food is great only the rooms are a little old school for those who doesn't like it

Booked an apartment at Golden Club at few months back. Had stay in a similar one last year. Really nice apartment , had everything you need, bed was comfy, good shower, veranda was great, also used the washing machine. Cabanas itself is a great wee town, lovely walk along the front, many bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, supermarkets to browse. We did have passes to use the pool facilities but didn't use them. We collected the keys from the main office. Train station is about a mile from the front, there are also buses to Tavira. I would recommend the apartment we used and for a stay at Cabanas. There is also a 3 mile walk to the centre of Tavira. It's a fine walk but some of the pavements could be better in Tavira, near the large shopping complex. Cheers 😁😁

Beautiful location, rooms were clean and tidy. Staff were nice and helpful. Food was nice if you aren’t to fussy, plenty of choice. Wine and beer are both pleasant and very drinkable. The pool is amazing and really isn’t represented on all the photos I have seen! Beach is incredible beautiful bay. Would recommend this to anyone.

Being mine and my partner first ever all inclusive we can't fault it.
After reading some of the bad reviews I won't lie, we were a bit worried as we wanted our first experience all inclusive to be something nice. And it was, the complex was clean and the facilities were more than adequate. The room was big and bright, with the added bonus of having the smallest yet perfect enough kitchen with the necessary equipment if you wish to make a meal or just have a tea/coffee. The staff were friendly from arrival to departure. The outside swimming pool was delightful with lovely music. Even tho it's April the weather was amazing and we used the outdoors swimming pool almost every day. We also took advantage of their own private and beautiful beach with the free 90seconds boat transfer provided by the resort. That was just lush. The food was amazing. Being Portuguese myself and knowing the country dishes we could tell the food was definitely made with a special touch. We were here for a week and every single day of the week there was a dish of meat and a dish of local fish and plenty, I mean plenty of different sides to choose from. For us the only down side of the food was the desserts. We found the puddings were very watery and a bit tasteless. Didn't match the quality of the mains. Seemed like if the package would say 1litre of water they would definitely add 2 instead. Apart of that, we really enjoyed our stay and perhaps be back one day. We definitely recommend it. Of course this is if you are aware of the Portuguese cuisine. Because I did laugh a few times with some spoiled young kids (12-16yr) complaining the food wasnt good. They seemed to appreciate more a sandwich of fries with ketchup (probably all they know) then a freshly cooked meal with local produce. Well done guys!!!!

As always, good helpfull staff 2 outdoor pools, one indoor heated pool..kids play area.
Good restaurant, breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I am now on my 8th visit...

Beautiful and quite peaceful place for family holidays. Long and wide beach on an island (to be reached by free hotel boats). Big pools, clean rooms, kind staff.

This place is not a hotel...it is more a social club or bar for the local Portuguese people.
They also make everyone welcome.
Prices very cheap, basic snacks burgers etc.

Staying at the Golden Club Cabanas was a delight. We had an amazing room which was very spacious and clean, the staff was super-friendly, the swimming pools were wonderful and also the entertainment in the evening was fun. I experienced a concert, a magic show and more.

The photos and videos on the internet really don't do the place justice to be honest. I was amazed by how great this place is.

Great hotel, friendly reception team, based in a beautiful fishing village Cabanas. Large swimming pools with loads of sunbeds. Beach very close, you take a boat to it over the estuary, boat provided free by the hotel.

Hotel and facilities are absolutely marvelous.
Staff is going extra mile to make you feel comfortable. We have been there for 4 days in first week of January with our two small girls 2 and 3 , yet staff at the hotel opened up the crèche and playground facilities for our two little sunshines. Rooms are bit dated, however all is being kept very clean and up to high standard. Only con is the heating, as we were there in January, first night was very cold, bit we kept the heating on 24/7 durring our stay and second night was already much more comfortable.
Food in the restaurant bis very good, great selection and all very fresh. However these guys are time firm, so don't leave your lunch until very last minute.

Had the best time here last year. For the price couldn't have asked for more
