A super restaurant in a secret garden. What a great experience. The hosts were friendly and welcoming. The setting in the garden was beautiful and relaxing. The food was exceptional and not expensive. We will go back.

The restaurant is a little hidden at first glance from anyone passing in front of the street that leads to the main room, old, welcoming, nostalgic. But the great pearl is the garden at the back of the restaurant, simple but with a tranquility and beauty that inspires. Added to this is delicious homemade food, with good appearance and flavor. We ordered three different dishes and both were great. The portions are medium, but it is worth noting that the quality and atmosphere stand out, a place to feel, inspire and enjoy with family or friends. Super fair price.It is important to highlight that it is almost mandatory to try the ice cream dessert with guava syrup, simply incredible! Note, this location only accepts cash payments, cards are not accepted.

It was All about the secret garden!!! A sweet little spot tucked away from everything. The vegetable soup was fresh and delicious. The lamb was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The piri piri chicken breasts were cooked on point with great spice. The cream sauce for chicken and pork was tasty and the meats were cooked well.
The wine list was reasonably priced. The owner who served us paid attention to detail and gracious.

An absolute hidden gem in Tavira. The owners cook and serve the food themselves. I had the the Pork steak with mushroom sauce and it was a treat! The mushroom sauce was hands down the best I've ever had.
I'd highly recommend it to family and friends when they're here.

Absolutely amazing. This restaurant is owned by a lovely couple. They cook and make everything themselves and also serve you themselves.

We first had some olives, bread and homemade paté, and this was delicious. As main course we had the entrecote with mushroomsauce which was served with well spiced vegetables and fries. As a desert we had the tiramisu. EVERYTHING was so tasteful.

The venue is also super cute and home-y. Everything was super affordable. And the owners were very kind aswell!

Fantastic food & wine in a lovely laid back atmosphere. This is a gorgeous hidden little gem. Run by Jorge & Lia - a very friendly couple. Our starters include fab garlic bread, Greek salad with figs, prawn cocktails. Mains included mix grills, chicken piri piri, pork. Fabulous meals - highly recommend this place x

My wife and I had a pleasant lunch sitting in their nice garden with birds songs. I had the steak with mushrooms sauce and my wife te hamburger. The food was good and the service prompt. We were lucky to find this place opened on December 8 during a religious holiday.

Don't let the outside fool you. Passing through the restaurant leads to a cozy little garden area, with all sorts of vines, flowers and trees. Well worth the stop for lunch on my way to Spain! Not a lot for vegetarians.

What a find. Beautiful Garden of Eden tucked away so that we literally stumbled upon it and went back for an early dinner the next day. Unassuming menu but food prepared with a flair by Lia like she was cooking for you at home. Lamb chops in butter and garlic were delicious, and you have to try the oven baked potatoes!
Jorge was an attentive and amusing host.
We will be back with friends soon!

Lovely garden terrace out the back. Not a lot of seating so try to come slightly off peak or reserve to ensure you get a table in the garden.

Best grilled chicken I ever had in Algarve!! I would definitely eat there again if given a chance. The lady (Lia i assume) was very nice and accommodating, she fed us even though we came out of hours. Thanks so much! ❤

Jorge and Lia are a lovely couple, who serve really good, home made, local food. Been going here for a very long time as my Mother and Father in law, knows them well.
I will say the quality of food has never changed, still really good and the outside setting is really lovely to be in. Always a pleasure to go to and always great to see them. Highly recommended.

Overlooked place by tourists. Really cool ambiance, tasty food and great price! Run by a Family, playing no tourist fooling tricks . Really recommend it!

Cozy and friendly spot in Tavira. Actually is attending their customers in a lovely backyard plenty of plants and personal touch. Friendly staff, honest gastronomy, excellent cost / value relationship. Worth the visit many times. I will come back.

As per other reviews this is a really nice local restaurant, nothing pretentious, just good home cooking in tranquil surroundings. The piri piri chicken breasts were perfectly cooked, the bitoca was also perfect. House wine is good and the service is genuine, well worth the walk from town centre

Loved this cute restaurant. Unpretentious and food cooked with love. Beautiful secret garden patio in the back. Met some wonderful Irish tourists while dining. Highly recommend.

Lovely place inside, beautiful outside and the food is amazing, and super tasty. Will absolutely be coming back, even in the coming week as we're in the area.

Really nice place! So cosy and charming, the food is delicious and the owner is so kind. We tried many places in Tavira, and this one is something special.

You have to find this place, a bit out of the centre on a street heading out of town, but worth it to eat in "The Secret Garden". Peaceful garden setting (you'd never know it was there from outside) and served by a charming couple who gave the impression of running it as a hobby more than a business. Don't mistake that to mean lower quality though, the meal, service and setting was just perfect, not to mention excellent value. Word of warning, cash only, but then you'll be pleasantly surprised how little you'll need.

Found this little gem of a place on the last night of our holiday.
What more can be said about the quality of the food and service.
Very highly recommend on our return we will definitely be coming back here.
