Recommended must attend while in the area. Tree lined street, free street parking. Blissfully quiet surroundings, beautiful reconstructed buildings, and art on display. Wonderful views of the ocean from upper floors. Small charge (3 euro pp) for entry to exhibits.

The exhibiotions were really interesting. Me and my boyfriend paid 6€. There was no information that under 25 year olds only pay 1,50 per person :(

Fascinating space. Great architecture and wonderful people working there. Amazing to believe such a place exists in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean!

When in Ribeira Grande you should definitely visit this museum. It features contemporary art, mainly temporary exhibitions from Portuguese /Azorean artists. But also they museum itself is worth a visit. Entrance fee was 3€ in August 2019. You will also find a book store.

Stunning facility, interesting work. Nice book/gift store with its own gallery upstairs that is always free to visit.
Museum is free on Sundays.
We would love to see them open studio spaces for local artists and grow the local artistic community around this amazing resource!

Great expositions of contemporary art in an old liquor factory. If you can go on Sunday better since it's free to access

Tiny but beautiful museum, the interiors and architecture of the building with its mix of stone and wood are amazing!
Unfortunately we came during a no-exhibition day so we couldn't see much, but they still let us go inside without paying a ticket

Surprised us with free tickets on Sunday. The place isn’t small but there wasn’t much to see. Nonetheless I would 100% recommend visiting this place. Very modern and impressive space and interesting art too.

Fantastic collection of art in an absolutely world class space. Thoughtful curating and an enviable setting. Definitely worth seeing for an injection of art in the Azores.

Loved the Arts Center - Portuguese and Azorean based contemporary installations as well as video from the local public tv stations. The building itself is something to experience even if you don't want to bother looking at the work...and the gift shop is great if you love books, especially photography and poetry and architectural.
There is a black box theatre which I did not have the chance to attend but would have even not knowing the language...

One of the art highlights of all of Portugal. The building itself is stunning inside and out and the curation of exhibits is excellent. Once the word is out, this project will undoubtedly garner intentional visits from all over the world.

Starting with the architecture, this place is one thousand percent worth your time. Built in an old alcohol factory, Arquipelago is a world class art center in a small island, bringing contemporary artists from all over the world for locals to enjoy and learn about global trends in the art world. One of the most interesting spaces I’ve seen, inside and out it’s a spectacular delight for your senses.

Impressive gallery space and a stunning addition to Azorean arts and culture. A renovated 19th century factory / sweet potato distillery - huge and cavernous gallery and events spaces, alpine with rotating cultural events and exhibits. The cellars are amazing, and the entire venue shows promise for years to come in exhibiting Azorean and international works. Recommended strongly.

Fascinating place to visit. It is a centre for artists and some of the exhibits were very good. I enjoyed my visit and found the art to be both innovative but still enjoyable.
