Local restaurant with very delicious food. We had olives, Island cheese, octopus salad, the fish of the day and steak. The fish was perfect and tasted very fresh. Served with the regional and national white wine. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere in this small restaurant ist very comfortable.

This was a great dining experience. We had previously tried to come here but they weren’t open on that day. This time, we called ahead and my husband and I were the first people there. The female and male staff were super friendly. The female spoke English while the male staff definitely tried and was helpful. We ordered the limpets and the clams. amazing seafood selection! My husband ordered the fish of the day (tuna) and I ordered the sirloin with honey mustard and pineapple sauce. The sauce was a little bit saltier but the meat was fantastic. We also ordered the pineapple flambé and the petite gateau (lava cake) w/ ice cream. We paired it with glass after glass of Azores local white wine. Food was amazing and fresh! By the time we left, it was packed with people! Would recommend :)

amazing place! Wide options of wines in the menu (and on the walls as well ;) ) but also multiple options to choose among fish courses. We took octopus with some souse and potatos and tuna steak with sweat potatos - can’t tell which one was better.

My wife and I had a wonderful dinner here during our visit in Sao Miguel. We each got a different catch of the day, tuna and eel, and both were delicious. The meals came with mixed vegetables and yams and it all came together with a home-cooked feel. The pineapple cake for dessert was also excellent. The atmosphere was relaxing and charming and the service very thoughtful.

Great food for a good price! Compared to many other restaurants we’ve tried during our stay, this one did not only have great fish but also a well composed plate over all with tasty sweet potatoes, vegetables and sauce. We had the fish of the day (tried the stingray) and the “squid and shrimp kebab” and were both pleased.

The whole experience was great. From the food variety and quality to the attention and kindness shown by either waiters and owner. For sure a pleasant place for a meal in São Miguel.

The Tuna steak is already worth a journey! Great flavours and moderate prices.

Came here for an evening meal since it was recommended and not disappointed at all.
Everything was special - even the sparking water was in a different and special bottle !
We had cod, swordfish and prawn and octopus kebab between 3 of us plus a couple of bottles of excellent white wine.
The whole experience was exquisite and we fully intend on returning there again before we leave

We had tuna and steak - both dishes very good and the prices are reasonable. A very good Dinner-Restaurant!!!

We stumbled on this place because Qunita dos Sabores didn't serve lunch as they advertise and so referred us here. Really excellent. Great wine list although not many low priced options. Seafood was excellent, steak also great. Small and the service was very attentive if not very good with English. Mostly locals in here. Overlooks the ocean but no windows facing that way (no windows at all now that I think about it). Big portions. Probably our best meal on the island

Realy great place with fresh fish and good local wine! And of course best service what we expirienced in restaurant on whole island!

We visited this place twice as it was close and convenient. The food was good, with one exception, fish of the day was (always barracuda) lacked flavor. FYI, Barracuda is a heavy, meaty fish. If you like this, then it's great, but if you prefer light flaky texture, it's not going to be it.
Order their olives 🫒, if you like olives, you'll be happy you did. 😊

Ate here twice during my week in Sao Miguel, once for lunch (quiet) and once on a monday night ( pretty busy ). By far our favorite restaurant in the area quality and price wise. The owners father runs the place and speaks very good english. He is friendly and funny so dont be shy to ask him questions about your food. The plates are big, most come with veggies or salades. The staff present every table with the “fish of the day” and how it will be presented. If ever I go back I would call to make a reservation! Enjoy ! ( this plate was 12 euros)

By far the best food we enjoyed in two weeks on Sao Miguel.

During our two week visit on the island we tried a lot of restaurants and snack bars. Most of them. With good ratings. But the best food we had at Boteqim Açoriano. The red snapper was delicious, the filet mignon was outstanding and I found something that was not only vegetarian (chickpea burger) but also really tasty.

The desert was also gorgeous. And so was the wine.
I‘d recommend it without exception!

We liked this restaurant so much that we came back for a second night. It is easy to find, with parking available in the lot or on the street. The room is comfortable and attractive. The food was great: we had limpets, fried forkbeard, and grilled pigfish. The menu is more extensive than it looks, because there were 3-5 different fish-of-the-day options the days we were there. Our favorite dessert was the wild berry cheesecake: very light and fluffy. Service was excellent. Highly recommended!

Lovely restaurant with local specials. Black pudding with pineapple was surprisingly delicious and octopus was great as well. Local white wine was really fresh and tasty, too.

We had three type of fish, all of which were delicious. Also, the sauce - tartare - was exquisite. Service was friendly.
