Restaurante Carlos

We were staying in Sagres for a few days for holiday in Nov. The town wasn’t too busy. We found this restaurant around our hotel. We arrived at 6:40pm on a Tuesday. It wasn’t busy and the staff was eating. I felt sorry that they had to stop and served us. By the time we left around 8pm, the restaurant indoor was 70% full.

Before we ate at this restaurant, My kid needed to use bathroom earlier the day and the staff let him use it even we were not eating there. So I decided to come back for a meal.

I have always been wanted to eat the Portuguese seafood rice. It looked really good from someone else’s photos. I ordered it and it was made from scratch. It took around 25-30 minutes. And it didn’t disappoint. The rice was so flavourful with the fresh seafood. There were one whole crab, prawns, mussels, clams. The crab was presented in 4 pieces. Tools were provided to crack the shells. It definitely wasn’t easy to eat the crab meat but the experience and everything was worth it. We also ordered grilled squid, it came with potatoes and boiled broccoli.

The house red was so good, sweet and full body.

The staff was very friendly, there was one gentle being very nice to my toddler son, played and talked to him. There is a fish tank, and kids are quite interested in it. Definitely an entertainment for them.

I would recommend for family, couples, group of friends to eat here.

During our wonderful family vacation in Portugal, we had the pleasure of exploring various restaurants, and it's safe to say that this particular establishment stood out as a gem. The culinary experience was truly exceptional, with a delectable array of fresh dishes that were expertly prepared. Their fish dishes, in particular, were an absolute delight and left us thoroughly satisfied. The service we received was warm, attentive, and made us feel right at home. If you happen to be in the vicinity of Sagres, I highly recommend indulging in the exquisite offerings at this restaurant – it's a taste of perfection that you won't want to miss. Needless to say, we are eagerly looking forward to returning in the future!

Excellent fish and shell fish restaurant in Sagres. Top! We loved our sargo and the chocolate cake was truely awesome. Also had such a lovely and child-friendly service. 5 Stars - absolutely Well deserved!

One of the best Bacalhau-Bras I had.
The bean and rice stew was also a wonderful one. Bonus point: They are dog-friendly! Service was a little slow but it’s ok. Will come back!

Had a great meal...host was amazing and staff were friendly..no fotos of food as we were starving...but 5 star all around..

Carlos and his staff are fantastic and super friendly. I was dying to try the barnacles so I asked for a small plate to try. They even showed us how to eat them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND giving them a try.

Amazing food. We went twice to Carlos during our week in Sagres. The second time I had the "feijoada de choco" which is very good. I'd recommend it.

The restaurant can be quite busy, so if you're up for an earlier dinner, you can get the best tables around.

We were spontaneously in Sagres, and had not reserved for lunch. We were lucky to get a great table at "Carlos" and enjoyed a very good meal. We had the rice with seafood, the kids a burger and a grilled fish fillet. All in all a nice lunch. Friendly team that was always polite and quick despite being very busy. Thank you very much

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Carlos, a hidden gem of a Portuguese fish restaurant in Sagres. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of amazing.

The restaurant itself had a charming and cozy ambiance, with tasteful decor that added to the overall inviting atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home.

Now, let's talk about the food. Carlos truly excels in serving some of the finest Portuguese fish dishes I've ever tasted. Each dish was a celebration of fresh and high-quality ingredients, expertly prepared and bursting with flavor.

Delicious! Just watch out with the portions - one dish might be enough for two people but the food is amazing.

Very kind staff, they served us the dinner even when the kitchen was almost closed. Camarón tigre the best choice!! The dinner was so tasty and very well cooked. We will come back!!

The food and service is excellent. The Octopus dish i had was the best i have eaten! Should have come here sooner. Been living in the area for awhile and finally made it in for a dinner. Will be back soon that is for sure! Friendly service, nice setting and excellent food. Cheers Carlos Jr and team
