Quinta do Monte Travesso

This is a wonderful Quinta (Winery) for the region. It has an authentic feel and is owed and operated by fifth generation wine makers. Our vintner and guide Daniel was fantastic, he has a wealth of knowledge and is passionate about the region and all the wines. The tour was very informative and the wine tasting was done in front of a fire, as it was winter when we visited. Daniel made our experience one of the best. The winery is very close to town and the drive was very scenic. They have three different tours at very reasonable prices, value for money. Highly recommend for families as well as we travelled with our 15 yr old son. You have to book in advance with tours at 10am and 6pm.

Thank you Daniel for an informative and enjoyable wine tasting session. We felt privileged to spend the time understanding the wine making process and then staying overnight in our campervan. You should be very proud of your first 3 year's vintages.

Lovely warm hearted host, we felt as we were part of the family. Did some wine tasting and got a small tour through the Quinta. We also could stay with our campervan overnight. The wine was good and the experience unique. Beautiful place and people.

Fanstic over night, wine tasting and bought a couple of bottles, hosted by a young lady who speaks very good English and is also very informative about the grapes and wine. Good quiet nights sleep.

Great wine tasting at this friendly, small family owned vineyard. We had a wonderful explanation of the history of the Quinta and the wines from Edna. She was very knowledgeable and spoke very good English. The wines were tasty and we loved the setting in the hills above Pinhao. Interesting collection of old farm objects which have been in the family since the 19th century. They also make delicious olive oil.

My group and I stayed here for a long weekend while visiting the Douro Valley. It was so so perfect, the breakfast was very generous, the pool was beautiful and amazing, and the views from the places were just incredible. The wine was also so good! I will definitely be back and highly recommend this quinta as your home base while visiting douro valley area.

Excellent place to stay for the night and walk around the vineyard. We stayed with ‘easy camp’ and enjoyed a bottle of wine.

We visited this place as a part of a tour group but found it to be amazing. The owner is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, and the food that they prepared was fantastic. You couldn't ask for a more beautiful backdrop either.

Lovely tour of the house with tons of artifacts. Once the tasting began the party started. Very generous and kind couple and delicious wines.

Lovely place to visit and the owner Jose was an absolute delight and kept us entertained and informed us all about his wine making. The premium wine was delicious and worth investing in.

A beautiful location, set above Tabuaco, with fantastic view of the vineyards. Free to park up in the camper, free electric, wc and shower. Highly recommend the wine tour and tasting. The wines and olive oil are delicious and the tour very interesting, so nice to come across the traditional methods of wine making still being used. Very friendly hosts and great to share the tour with other fellow campers. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

A first class tour, very good presentation and explanation of Monte Travesso wine production in the context of the Douro.

We had a lovely stay at the vineyard. The wine tasting with Bernardo was amazing, so passionate about the vineyard and history behind it. We loved every minute. Would highly recommend this vineyard for an overnight stop, vineyard tour and wine tasting.

We had a very nice night and were warmly welcomed by the owners. The view is just amazing, the shower hot and the toilets clean. We couldn’t have wished for more! Thank you to Bernado and Josef!

Spent one night in a Campervan. Booked through EasyCampPortugal. Amazing views, access to wc and shower. Welcoming staff. We didn't have the wine tasting, but it seems nice.
