A Ver Tavira

The experience in this restaurant was amazing. The name of the restaurant is literally what you get to have as a view: the city of Tavira.
There are 3 tasting menus, we chose the Flavour Trip, and it did not disappoint at all. From the amuse-bouche to the dessert, every single dish was a party of flavours. We chose the wine pairing, which was absolutely a perfect compliment to every single dish.
It is also worth noting that we had one person in our group that had dietary restrictions, and it was absolutely perfect the way that the chef adjusted the menu to align with the restrictions.
It is definitely worth going to this restaurant, and take a chance to also check out the beautiful city of Tavira.

We had a wonderful dinner and food experience. The tasting menu took us through different flavours of the sea with a special mention to the sardine toast, gazpacho and the carabineiro. The deserts are incredible, mixing dark chocolate with fig and the traditional morgado.
The wine pairing was it is a true experience that amplifies the taste of the dishes.

Attention to detail is the main surprise at this place. Add a great view, a wonderful tasting menu, greetings from the chef and the kindest staff who provides an impeccable service, what do you get? A Michelin Starred Gem.
We had the 5 course for lunch, it was perfect for us to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We will definitely go back once again in Tavira.

Amazing place and off the beaten path so we’re super glad to have found it. We didn’t know it was a Michelin starred restaurant with a tasting menu but all the better. Everything was incredibly tasty and very creative. The staff was amazing too. Ive eaten at half of the top fifty restaurants in the world and this one should be included!

Fantastic place - one of the best Michelin star restaurants we’ve been to. A few tasting menus to choose from, we went for The Journey of Flavour with excellent wine pairing suggestions from the sommelier Cláudia Abrantes. Let’s just say it was a feast for the senses and we spent there 3 hours slowly indulging in every detail of these showstopping dishes and wines. The service was excellent and the master chef Luís Brito came over to say hi as well, which makes you feel even more appreciated as a guest. If we’re ever in Tavira, we’ll be definately coming back.

Excellent food in Tavira. Not your typical Portuguese restaurant, they offer tasting menu, of 3, 4, 5 or 8 courses. We had 4 and was really worth it. Amousse Boucher, appetizer (tuna tartar and shrimp with curry), fish course (tuna and white fish), meat course (beef sirloin and pork cheeks) and desert (flan and marinated season fruit in a cream). I can not decide witch was the best. And the price for the quality of the food and service was cheap.

If you find yourself in the Algarve region of Portugal, do not miss this hidden gem. Chef Luís serves a masterful tasting menu of locally sourced foods. Leaning more toward the sea, as one would expect, each dish is artfully presented and worthy of their Michelin status. The friendly and attentive wait staff and knowledgeable sommelier make a well rounded and memorable experience.

Wow - I have been lucky enough to have eaten in several Michelin star restaurants but this is by far the best. The artistry, ingredients and overall experience is exquisite. This place deserves 2 Michelin stars and worth saving up to visit if you appreciate great cooking (unlike other uninformed reviewers) as the effort put on to the preparation is immense. Portuguese cooking at it’s very best!

We drank delicious sangria on 3 afternoons before booking a table on the veranda over looking the City. The service and food were tremendous! The wine wonderful. It is priced appropriately, but high for local standards. Everyone was on the veranda.

Went to A Very Tavira last night and four Michelin star chefs collaborated on a seven course menu with wine pairings. Every course and every wine were perfect. Give this place a try!

Possibly one of the best meals I’ve had in my life. My wife and I had the 5 course menu with paired wines. Each course was expertly crafted and interwoven with little surprises from the kitchen (the highlight was the oyster amuse-bouche - the best oyster I’ve ever tasted and beautifully presented). The waiting staff were awesome and took great care in explaining each course and the accompanying wine. I would highly recommend the restaurant to anyone visiting Tavira.

We loved our dinner at A Ver. The quality of the food offering was exceptional. We also very much enjoyed the knowledgeable and friendly service. It was nice to be able to round off our meal on the rooftop terrace also.

I had a reservation to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday at A Ver Tavira, but unfortunately, my parents did not make it in time to Portugal and we had to cancel.

I would like to thank the team and the chef’s understanding and patience on handling our request.

Even though i have not been yet, i definitely recommend this restaurant due to the kindness of the team!

We hope we will have the opportunity to come and enjoy dinner at A Ver Tavira soon!

They recently obtained a well deserved Michelin star rating. The food is superb, the service equally so is the view.
We left with good memories for years to come and wish the chef and staff all the best

A Michelin Star restaurant in Tavira. If you can afford it and you really appreciate fine dining this is the place to go. The food looks and tastes absolutely stunning. In the summer I would probably ask for a table outside. I would love to go for lunch not dinner next time. We went for the 10-course option and it was way too much food for us. Next time I would go for a 5-course tasting menu instead of 10 and treat myself to a nice cheese board with port (they had so many amazing looking cheeses but we were too full to try). Their wine pairing was truly excellent and the sommelier friendly and knowledgable . I normally enjoy a bit less classical atmosphere but others would describe that as tres chique i'm sure. It's the kind of place where you order a glas of champagne as an aperitif instead of trendy cocktail carefully constructed by a beardy mixologist. I like both. It was a wonderful Valentines dinner and I hope my Love will take me again next year :)

Absolutely great service and quality food

My partner and I had the 5 course menu (plus cheese course). The food was delicately flavoured and delicious. The chef is to be commended for risk taking with interesting textures and flavour combinations (although the citrus carrot purée with the Galician beef was probably an overreach). The cocktails were good value and delicious and Claudia the sommelier helped us choose an excellent wine to accompany our dinner.
