Caloura Hotel Resort

Location was the most beautiful view and the hotel grounds are amazing. Staff was extremely helpful with everything. Would go back in a heartbeat! Was down the road to the beach and find a cute roadside bar

The best hotel on a beautiful island. Great location with a fantastic view. Breakfast and dinner was very good. The WiFi could be better though.

We had a very nice stay at Caloura Hotel Resort. The staff at reception and from room service were very friendly. Our room (23) was very nice and had a rain shower in the bathroom and a big balcony.

However, there were a few small things in the room to complain about: It was a bit musty, there were not enough sockets, one side of the bed had no bedside table and you had to get up to turn off the lamps above the bed. Some sun loungers in the pool area were broken. The offered wifi was very bad.

The pool was very nice.

The food in the Terrace Snack Bar was tasty and the selection was okay - although not huge. The prices were acceptable. We ate dinner there several times.

We didn't try the restaurant because the price for the dinner (buffet) at 28 euros was too expensive for the offer for the Azores.

The breakfast buffet had a wide variety and was good.

Despite the minor flaws mentioned, I rate with five stars because the great location makes up for a lot.

Very good hotel clean and quiet, there is also a down side of this, nearby there is nothing if you don't have a car you are isolates there is a buffet restaurant at 28 euro pp. But quality vs price is not that good. There is also a snackbar average eat of 15 pp but limited choice. When having a car you are more flexible walking is an option but the walk is uphill and downhill. Not for everyone comfortable.

We stayed here because SATA rescheduled our flight due to weather.

Although we couldn’t use all amenities (like outdoor pool, for obvious reasons) they were super nice.

The food at the bar could be better (the carbonara was very good, but the burger was meh).

Anyway, they were pretty nice and let us check out later for our flight so big kudos for this :)

Rooms were very clean and well worth the price! Restaurant was great, decent sized portions. Private path to the ocean led to some amazing views! Highly recommend.

Great hotel, all rooms have sea view! De staff, especially in the restaurant is really kind en helpfull. A large pool is a plus. Rooms were clean , up to date en big enough with AC (which you will be needed). There is enough space at the parking lot for rental cars. Breakfast is good, although a lot the same.

Few quick shots from the shoreline that's worth exploring!!! The service is fast and friendly, bar and restaurant staff is friendly, helpful and honest. The gym is a little outdated with a faulty Natualus and sauna isn't free. But overall this place is an easy 5/5. Rooms clean, views pristine, staff friendly, easy access parking and not in a busy part of town. A must stay if you're on the island and looking for an upscale, affordable and worthy place to call home throughout your visit.

Beautiful location, spotless hotel, great staff

Well this will forever be my most favorite place because my boyfriend proposed on their hidden walkway down to the natural pools and volcanic rock. This hotel was by far the best we stayed at during our vacation wish we would’ve spent more nights here. 10/10 views these can’t be beat. I can’t wait to return and celebrate the beautiful country and place where we got engaged!

Beautiful resort, perfect to properly slow down & relax for a few days. Especially the garden & sunsets are lovely! The hotel is well located on the island for day trips & close to Ponta Delgada. Only thing to improve is the food in the main restaurant - prices are way too high and not worth for the quality you get (18€ for breakfast / 28€ for dinner). The snack bar on the terrace is actually much better! If you fancy a good steak, go to Casa do Abel (15min walk from hotel).

We stayed at a lot of different places on the island and although this place wasn't super perfect or brand new, it was better than many of the other places costing twice as much and one of our favorites.

Rooms all have great views of the ocean (big plus), there's a terrace for each room, and it's impossible not to enjoy the view. Parking is easy, staff at check in were very nice and friendly despite our last minute reservation.

We didn't try any of the food as we ate at some other spots in town, but there's also a snackbar by the pool that has drinks. Possible to walk down to the ocean cliffs, and there's snorkeling nearby if you know what you're doing and the swell is low.

Overall, a breath of fresh air

I liked this hotel a lot. Staff is nice ans they have a nice pool and amazing tennis court with rackets and balls available. Breakfast is ok and the beds are a tiny bit hard but the views are great. Great value for what you pay!!!

This hotel is great. The location is perfect for exploring the island. The food in the restaurant is great. Different buffet every evening for a great price. The pool area is spacious and never seemed to get crowded. Staff was really friendly and helpful.

Very nice resort, splendid location and sea view. Staff is very friendly, the food is excellent, in the restaurant and the terrace bar. The room was spacy, the bath room brand new. If you do not like the pool do not miss the litte beach nearby (only 3 minutes by foot). Possibility for improvement are coffee and tea at breakfast which are served by a machine only in small amounts. However, five stars are appropriate.

Excellent hotel! The view of the ocean is amazing, the pool is quite large and at this time of the year, you don't have to fight for chairs at the pool (end of June, don't know how it's in July/August). Its really peaceful and quiet, especially since the hotel isn't really child friendly. For example the food (we only tried the buffet) is great for me, but I can imagine kids don't liking it that much. Breakfast is also fine with a great amount of different kinds of bread and bacon, eggs, sausages, cheese, ham etc. The wifi signal in the room (we were at the second floor) was quite poor so I ended up using my own mobile data a lot more (free roaming, finally!). We used the snackbar (open from 10:00 to 24:00) almost every day to have lunch but also for the excellent cocktails. Snackbar isn't very cheap but the food is really good. Finally the staff (with no exceptions) is one of the most friendliest I have ever witnessed while on holiday!

Great hotel with a good service. A room with a view. Wauw !! We still enjoy it. The vacation at this hotel will give us a lot of fine memories. A photo will never point out the atmosphere we felt here. Thank you staff.

Good hotel, nice staff. Amazing surroundings. Small beach nearby and ofcourse the hotel pool, with bar. If you don't feel like a big dinner, you can always have a burger and fries there (until 7).
