I rented an automatic car for two days with full coverage insurance for 150 €, it was a brand new car “Dacia” very fuel efficient I drove around the island for 2 whole days and it only consumed half a tank.
And they give me a ride to the airport for free.
Definitely will rent again ⭐⭐⭐

What a satisfying experience having just completed my first booking with Wonder Island car rentals. I sometimes book with book well known branded companies but having done some research I saw that Wonder Island’s rating was 4.9 and now I know that to be deservedly so. Every aspect prior to, at collection and for the hand back was simple, well arranged and without difficulty. This small, customer oriented family business merit their high rating. Very good rental company. We received an almost new car with a few scratches. The car was clean and in good condition, although the tires are likely to be replaced in the near future. We were picked up from the airport despite the plane delay as well as being driven back to the airport. It was a very nice gesture on the part of the rental company to give us additional 3 hours, again due to the delay of our plane. The staff was very friendly and I had quite a bit of contact with them. Definitely worth recommending. Prices are good and I recommend you to take full insurance if you're not familiar with driving on tight streets. There are many like this on Sao Miguel.

This was the ABSOLUTE BEST car rental experience I have EVER had. I seriously would give this company a 10/5 stars if I could! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The process of renting a car from Wonder Island was so easy and simple and there were ZERO, I repeat zero, hidden fees or changes of price once picking the car up (my mind was blown after having the exact opposite experience with Europcar on the mainland 🤦🏽‍♀). The car was brand new so naturally it drove great and the gas mileage was amazing. On top of all of that Diana was such a pleasure to work with and a truly phenomenal person! She gave us some great recommendations around the island and was so quick and helpful in all of her communication. I seriously can’t believe how easy and reasonably priced it was to rent a car from Wonder Island. I would rent here again in a heartbeat! Thank you so much for everything Diana!!! What a wonderful car rental experience from Wonder Island! The all inclusive insurance gave us ease of mind when driving on the narrow roads and remote areas in Sao Miguel. We rented a car for one week and the car was very new(under 7000 miles) and clean with automatic transmissions. The support and service were also superb. We had an early arrival time at 6:20 and their staff was ready to greet us at the designated park lot. We highly recommend this company! I was looking to rent a car in the Azores and found this car rental agency with great reviews. I simulated a 5-day rental of an Audi A1 in January. I wanted insurance that would cover any accident expenses, but I had some doubts about the insurance conditions and the €95 deductible for the Audi A1. I called, and they were very friendly, clarifying all the insurance terms and details about the pickup location, which is practically next to the airport.

I made the reservation online and paid €125 for the 5-day rental, including worry-free insurance. I opted out of tire and rim insurance because I'm a very skilled driver :) but suggested it for those less confident in parking. Upon arriving at the airport, the included transfer was already waiting for me at Wonder Islands, right next to the airport. The car was ready, doors open, waiting for me. They were straightforward and informative about the car and the rental process, making everything very simple. I paid the €95 deductible in cash as I preferred not to use a Visa card.

The experience with the Audi A1 was excellent—stable, easy to drive, and fuel-efficient. When I returned the car, I was warmly welcomed. They refunded me the €95 deductible, confirmed the car was in good condition, and provided transportation back to the airport. Overall, a fantastic customer experience; I wholeheartedly recommend this company.

Firstly, the pickup at the airport was very quick and easy. The staff was extremely friendly, possibly the friendliest i’ve encountered at a car company. They were extremely helpful, accommodating and so nice.

The car we got was pretty much new, and even better than we expected. It was very modern and safe. In addition to this, we didn’t even need to pay a deposit. It’s so nice to have a company that trust you and is really there to help, even though we were young drivers. Everything thing went very well!

The service provided by Wonder Island was faultless. The two representatives that we met when we collected the car and dropped it off were extremely friendly and efficient… even when we dropped the car off at 5am!
We have no regrets choosing Wonder Island, not only because of their prices, but also having seen the queues in front of the desks of the major car hire companies at the airport.

Highly recommended! We received great service, a nice and a clean car. Diana picked us up from the airport. We rented a car with total insurance + tires, rims and complete full coverage. I'm so glad we did that because we accidentally hit the rear bumper against a very tight narrow sidewall up a slippery curve when the car accidentally slide down. Upon returning the car, there was zero hassle.
For tourists coming to the Azores and not used to the tight narrow curve road, we highly recommend renting with this company with the complete total worry free insurance. We hope to come back again and rent a car from Diana again in the near future.

Only good words for this rentacar! Everything was perfect; service, nice employee, pickup, car. The deposit is left in cash and is returned immediately when the car is returned. I definitely recommend this rentacar!

Absolutely fantastic rental cars we have ever had. They pick you up from the airport and bring back when your rentals being finish. Car was prepared when we arrived into the rentals and everything was really fast! Clear information about insurance condition, deposit and everything! We had Opel Corsa and it was great! Service was excellent, nice and kind. I really recommend this rental cars!

This agency is off-site but extremely close to the airport. We had to call for our pickup, but after that everything went smoothly. The car was almost new and had a full tank of gas. Please note that driving in Sao Miguel is challenging with extremely narrow roads and parking. Don't rent anything too big. We needed an early drop-off (which costs extra) and they were on-time so we got to the airport without any problems. Had an overall positive experience and would rent from them again.

Henrique was amazing! The process of being picked up from the airport, to signing paperwork, using the car, and dropping the car off was a breeze!
Him and the rest of the The Wonder Islands staff were all friendly and attentive throughout the entire experience and talked to you on a first name basis which was refreshing.
Overall, I really do recommend this car rental company to friends, family, and others reading this review. I'll definitely use them again in the future. Their prices were the most reasonable and the friendliness of the staff and ease of the rental experience is a no-brainer! Thank you again Henrique and team!

And most important, they don't take the credit card, so clients are not charged after few days after leaving with artificial damages costs, as the main rent-a-car companies usually do in Ponte Delgado (shame on them).

Absolutely amazing! We rented a class D (Peugeot 2008) which we loved. Based on our talks with other travellers, the price we paid for our rental was by far the lowest. The staff was kind and cooperative. They even let usnto extend the rental by one day. The cars were clean. They offer shuttle to/from airport or hotels. When we visit again, we will definitely use their services again and I will recommend them to all our friends who will travel here.

My friends and I rented a Renault Twingo and a Citroen C3 (I think) from the 6th until the 13th of September. We had a really good experience with Wonder Islands. The cars worked perfectly and the young workers over there were super nice and cared a lot about us, about the cars and about the service provided, and were very communicative when it came to solving problems or doubts. I recommend it, 10/10

Wonderful car rental. From the puck up to return, everything worked. Took car with full insurance, they don't charge you deposit. Lovely driver Diana picked us up at the airport. Paperwork didn't take more than 10 mins and we're on our way. I can ONLY highly recommend this place. Next time I'm in Sao Miguel, I will rent car here. Very affordable prices.

I rented car for a week. Car was Dacia Sandero with automatic gearbox, car was like a new one: only 3000km driven. Perfect car for us: 3 persons and luggage. Everything worked fine: phone call to us when our flight arrived and immediately transportation to office where paperwork was done. Same procedure vice verca when we were leaving. Price was ok with full insurance. Workers were nice and friendly with english language skills. Well done!

Rented a car here for our trip in March 2024 and everything was great. They accommodated us for an early drop-off since our flight was leaving before their opening time, and everything was smooth and quick, Henrique was great helping us.
