Wonderful small hotel in the heart of town! Owners very helpful & speak excellent English. We had a family room on the 4th floor with a million dollar view of the ruins & mountains. Very spacious with 2 singles and a double. Huge bathroom. Basic breakfast included. Short walk to ruins, marketplace & lots of cafes and restaurants.

In the center of town within walking distance of everything. Our room had a 180 view of the mountains and the ruins. Breakfast was plentiful. The couple who owns the hotel could not be nicer, however only the husband speaks English or German. Their dog and daughter are delightful

The good things -
1. The hotel owner Michael is very good at English. Easy for me to communicate with.
2. Good location to some spots or restaurants.
3. Actually, the date we live in is my wife's birthday. Michael spent lots of time to fulfill my requests, which I am very grateful.
4. The room is clean and spacious. Great.
5. They also can help you to arrange a driver to take you around. It's safe and useful.
6. Good breakfast and nice buffet dinner that you can try
The bad things -
You can not sleep late due to not good insulation. You can always hear someone move chairs and tables. Quite annoying.

If you’re staying in Ollantaytambo, stay at Sol Miranda hotel. The location is perfectly convenient to the PeruRail (for access to Machu Picchu), the local markets, as well as the Ollantaytambo ruins. Not only is the location 10/10, the family that runs the hotel could not be more accommodating or kind. They arranged for our taxi both to and from Cusco, they upgraded us to a room with a gorgeous view of the ruins, and they provided us bagged breakfasts every morning. They also have a wonderful little shop with beautiful handmade garments, and we couldn’t help ourselves but snatch two of them up. I highly recommend to any travelers exploring the Inca Trail, they really do make you feel like family!

Very helpful staff. The room had a nice view of the mountains and ruins. Bead and breakfast were great. They also have a restaurant in the reception very well equipped and a tasteful food for affordable price. Th building is in the corner of historical streets.

My wife and I are 60-year-old semiretired professionals. We stayed at this hotel and were extremely pleased with the staff, location and amenities.

This hotel has everything we needed including location, grade accommodation, good breakfast and ready access to everything we were interested in. Staff were wonderful and were very kind in spite of her very limited knowledge of Spanish.

Our room on the top floor was a suite which overlooked the mountains and was absolutely beautiful. We also stayed in another room on the third floor which also had a great view

Breakfast was included which was basic but more than adequate for our needs.

Facilities were exemplary bearing in mind that Ollantaytambo is a bit off the beaten track. If you are expecting a five-star suite at the Ritz Carlton, you are not going to find it in this location.

On the other hand, if you are thinking of using this as a staging for your trip to Machu Picchu, you could not pick a better location. The train runs right through Ollantaytambo and is a 15 minute walk from a hotel. The marvelous archaeological site in the city is a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel is also very close to the town square which was a very interesting place to spend time. While we were there, a local festival was on which was fascinating and the locals were more than happy to share the experience.

Small cozy place - Family own and operate it - Great location!!! .
Walking distance to train Station and right at the bottom of the Museum .
Me and my family ( 6ppl ) stayed in this hotel for four nights . Excellent place if you’re planning to go to Machu Picchu . All day fresh coffee and my favorite Coca leave tea !!!!!!
Breakfast was always good- Eggs from free Range chicken .
For dinner you must try their buffet - best in town . You’re not going to be disappointed - promised .

Absolutely loved our stay!!! After an unfortunate event and an Airbnb cancellation we felt lucky to find Sol Miranda.
Arriving late at night, the staff were extremely nice and helpful with getting a room for us at such late notice. Staff are more often available at the desk midday and at night.

Free breakfast as early as 6-7am, wifi, free coca tea available 24/7, and with rooms that have amazing views of the sacred ruins. This is also located in the middle of important points (the plaza, road to the train station for Machu Picchu, and the Ollantayambo ruins).

Keep in mind there is no elevator, but stairs are short, and if it's low season it will likely be easier to pick your room.

A great value located right in the middle of everything you want to see in Ollantaytumbo. On the main street so there is no worry about carting your luggage across cobblestone streets, the Miranda is 2 blocks from the main square and very close to the entrance for the ruins. Michael was extremely helpful and provided great advice during our stay. The room was spacious, clean and had a great view of the mountains. Breakfast was included and was more than adequate. The property is located on a busier street in town. If you are a light sleeper, I would suggest asking for a room not on the street.

We went to Peru during March of 2018. We stayed at the Miranda and the owner was AMAZING. We had a personal tour guide who was a little rude to me (I threw up due to the altitude) by not letting us stop for a minute and only taking us to the spots that HE wanted to take us because he got commission from those spots. The owner came out of the hotel and told the off for us and then got us a better guide! He introduced us to his family and dog and made us feel like we were home. He helped us late at night navigate the town and made sure that everything was to our liking on a daily. His suggestions were spot on and the kitchen staff made a delicious meal everyday! We are coming back to Peru this year just to stay here again when we explore the country.

Wonderful hotel with great views of the Ollantaytambo ruins. Wish we had booked this place instead of our hotel in bustling Cusco. Michael is very warm and welcoming who puts his guests first. Would recommend this place for a really authentic peaceful experience of Peru and its heritage and culture

I travel frequently and have been to more than a few countries such as Guatemala, Colombia, Mexico and now Peru. I rate this hotel highly for several reasons 1) The price we paid for two nights lodging was outstanding. 2) The host Michael is FANTASTIC. He goes OUT of his way to make guests comfortable and speaks multiple languages. 3) See above: We booked Peruvian Airlines from Cusco to Lima. Their web check in is not good and rarely works. He physically called, got us checked in, seats together AND printed out our boarding passes. Who does that anymore? He does!!! 4) We had great conversation about history, life, what’s important in it all.
The amenities are very fair. The rooms are clean. It is not the Ritz Carleton but you are not paying $300 a night either! If you go into it with reasonable expectation you will be more than pleased. $97 U.S. for TWO nights with breakfast- two people. Do the math.
I can also recommend an honest taxi driver whom we met on this trip. You should speak some Spanish or use Google translator as he speaks a very little English.
