This has the construction and temples from pre-inca times and also inca-times. The ruins were quite amazing. Note that, it has several stairs that you need to climb, which are not hard as you constantly stop and the guide explains the history at these stops. There is sun temple at the top just like any Inca site. Also, you can see the human faces on the mountains opposite to this as the tourguide points.

Epic ruins that are definitely worth the visit. Prime examples of Incan power of concave/convex precision construction, warehouses. For storage and also a solstice temple of the sun. You walk up first on the circuit around the ‘body of the alpaca’ which gets the lungs into full gear. Very well worth the trip! Amazing views around the sacred valley.

Incredible experience, pretty decent climb up the rocks and stairs though. We’ll worth the experience!

Interesting Inca ruins with a fascinating history. There are many stairs but you can learn a lot just by walking in the flat areas.

There is a nice little market area just outside the ruins. The town square is quite picturesque, too, if you have time to visit there.

There is a bathroom but you need your own toilet paper.

Beautiful incan ruins, in the hills above ollantaytambo. It is not as huge as mach pichu or pisac but holds its own history and value. There are spanish buildings at the bottom and rocks scattered. There is storage opposite hill that are viewable from the ruins. The city is drier compared to machu pichu or pisac so the cloudless clear sky gives its own importance.

Beautifully maintained ruins walking distance from the heart of town. This was our first visit to an Incan ruin on our trip and it was honestly one of the top 3 or 4 we went to. We walked here from our hotel and enjoyed every minute of it. Not being fully acclimated to the altitude, we had to stop and catch our breath pretty frequently on the way up.

Absolutely worth a visit if taking a train from Ollantaytambo. These ruins are just amazing - demonstrating the different types of Incan stonework. Amazing views and great climbs to the top!

Go early and you will about have the spot to yourself. I was so amazed by the site. It is big and has unique water features. The town is an extension of the ruins themselves.

Without a doubt, one of the best Incan ruins, with so many stories to tell. We were very lucky to find ourselves with a guide whose family has lived in Ollantaytambo for hundreds of years - he was deeply knowledgable, very professional, and most of all, it was also really moving to have a tour with him, because he is still living so many of the stories.

You can find him by asked for Emerson Bejar at the gate, or his family has a stall in the middle of the market place just outside the gate.

Worth a visit. Pass includes entrance to several sites, we weren't able to buy a one time entrance. Definitely worth getting a guide to bring significance to the rooms and structures and learn the history of the town.

Amazing! You can join a tour or you can follow a guidebook or online guide. Impressive surrounding. The town feels dusty and rustic, but less "artificial" than Machu Picchu.

Worth spending a day or two before heading to Machu Picchu for sure.

Amazing site. Old inca place. The present village respects the street plots of the old settlement. The channels that lead the water through the locality are still functional. In the village there are some model houses for the old inca houses, with the animals and the old tools.
