Sol Ollantay

Great place! Excellent location. Staff is very helpful and friendly. They provided a "breakfast to go" for our early morning departure to Macchu Picchu. Rooms are simple and comfortable.

Sol Ollantay is in a great location, close to the Ollantaytambo archaeological site, train station and great places to eat around the square. Derek and Freddie were also very helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable and had a great view over the river. Breakfast was included, and there are some nice places to sit and relax inside the hotel. Thank you Derek and Freddie.

Overall outstanding! HOT water, heat in room, nicely decorated, comfortable beds, great breakfast. Everyone so helpful and accommodating. Derek and the rest of the staff are overly helpful and want to make sure you are taken care of. Perfect location up at the top of the street from the train station, right on the river and overlooking the ruins. This place is great in every way and I would stay here every time I visit. There is zero noise in the rooms from traffic or guests.

Having a relaxing and delightful breakfast on the 2nd floor within sight of the Ollantaytambo Inka ruin. If this is not an ideal spot of your visit to sacred valley, I want to know where you stayed. A little stream runs by the side of hotel, brings soothing white noise day and night. But if you were too tired from day tours and hikes, you won’t even notice it. I did stay here for 3 nights, and the owner and the entire crews are always ready to help. Only minor annoyance is you can hear 2nd floor guest when they moved around a lot. But like a good active tourist, I was tired from the day’s activities and it did not bother me much. Or you can ask for 2nd floor rooms!

Stayed here before our train ride/trek on Inca trail. Great location with great views of the Incan ruins. Hotel was interesting (not just a hallway with rooms) with a great breakfast room. Service was great and they kept our bags while we were on the trail. Wish we could've stayed longer!

We came back here for our second stay in Ollantaytambo after going to Machu Picchu. Derek is so nice and will help you with anything you need. There is great coca and muña tea free in the lobby, and the breakfast was really great - coffee/tea, eggs, bread, avocado, etc. The view from the breakfast room is really nice. There is a little market attached to the hotel so anything you need to buy, whether it be shampoo or chocolate, you can buy without leaving the building. The location to both ruins in Ollantaytambo is perfect, and it's across the street from Apu Veronica and Sunshine Cafe (both our favorites!). Also a short walk to the train station.

For our first stay, my boyfriend was recovering from being in the hospital in Cusco from altitude sickness, so we really appreciated the comfy beds and the TV channels (he spent an entire weekend resting and watching soccer games). The shower is very hot. Also the view from the rooms of the river, mountains and river is really great. Also Derek had our laundry done a few times which was so convenient.

We ended up getting engaged in Ollantaytambo so I know I will be back to visit at some time in the future. Derek and this town hold such a special place in our hearts. Go ahead and book this place!!!

I love this place! This is part of my Inca Trail tour arrangement and its a very nice little hotel I would recommend to my friend. The host was Michel (I think this is how to spell) and he was very friendly and easy to talk with. He gave me a single room with a small patio that overlooking the archeology site, with a stream flowing in front of my patio and flowers blossom. Beautiful and comfortable hotel. Bathroom facility is ok, not your standard hotel but usable. Breakfast was good and the view from the breakfast place was good as well! Highly recommend this little gem.

What a lovely stay! Would absolutely stay again. Beautiful room and the balcony view overlooking the water and onto the ruins, wow. The service was fantastic !

Stayed in 2015 for part of our honeymoon and it was simply amazing. We slept with the patio doors open to listen to the sound of the river as we slept. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean, and if I'm ever back in Peru I will be staying here again.

Excellent location by the river, provides a hearty breakfast, and is not too far from the city center nor the train station

The Sol Ollantay is no longer in operation. probably under renovation. We booked room there, but upon arrival, was referred to Sol Natura, which is an excellent place to stay. New, clean room. The hotel has a lovely and tranquil flower garden that has all colors of flowers. You can sit under one of the patio and read a book or just enjoy the view of the surrounding mountains. They also has an impressive center court, with entire roof in glass to take in sunlight, and comfortable sofa's for you enjoy the lovely green plants there. Don't forget the full breakfast in the am.

Great stay at hotel Sol! Had a fantastic and knowledgeable driver, Edwin that was arranged by Derek at the front desk. View from the room was awesome and the breakfast was also great. Would highly recommend this place before your trip to Macchu Picchu!

The rooms are quiet and we had a river room with a view of Ollantaytambo. Breakfast is great, there's free WiFi, the front desk is very helpful and the staff is very friendly. The location is only 15 minutes from the train station walking

Located a 8-10 min walk from the train station and just a block from the square. Super friendly and helpful staff. Very solid breakfast and probably most important of all... hot shower with great water pressure! On top of that, theres the insane view from the room! Can’t go wrong with Sol Ollantay!

The location is just great because I could see the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo from the window of my room and while having breakfast. The room I got had a bit more space than usual; everything was nice and clean and the price was good.

Very nice, clean hotel in a central location. Perfect place to rest before or after a trip to machupicchu. Staff are friendly and some rooms have a nice view.

The best hotel in the world!! Try to get a window view! Worth the money. I loved it.

Hotel Sol Ollantay we offer the comfort that we wanted, has a very attentive, the restaurant is very good.

Great spot to stay in a wonderful town and before a long trek!
