A Journey Through Time at Kilim Geoforest Park

Stepping into Kilim Geoforest Park is like walking through the pages of Earth's history. The ancient limestone formations, some dating back 500 million years, stand as natural skyscrapers, telling tales of the planet's past. The sprawling mangrove forests, teeming with life, are a testament to the resilience of nature.

As the CEO of a company that cherishes sustainable tourism, I was particularly impressed by the park's dedication to conservation. The guided boat tours offer not just a glimpse into the rich biodiversity but also educate visitors on the importance of preserving these natural wonders.

The experience of exploring the park's caves and witnessing the unique geological features is both humbling and exhilarating. It's a reminder of the beauty and fragility of our natural world and the responsibility we have to protect it.

Kilim Geoforest Park is more than just a destination; it's an immersive experience that leaves you with a deeper appreciation for nature's marvels. A must-visit for anyone traveling to Langkawi.

Great service! The private tour was super easy to book, with no headache. You can even decide on the starting time and duration. They also offer shared tours if you prefer. Found them on Google and contacted them via Whatsapp. They sent me all the details and then proceeded with the booking. No advance payment is necessary, but they only take cash. We really recommend captain Fikri. He was already waiting for us at the location when we got there. On top of being nice and friendly, he’s a great guide! He shared so many insights about the places we visited. Plus, his boat was in excellent condition. The boat ride itself is really enjoyable. The scenery is breathtaking. It reminded me of the Ha Long Bay in Vietnam. The eagle watching is also pretty awesome. The fish farm visit was a bit useless. As for the bat cave, it is tiny but you get to see some monkeys. The bat cave’s entrance fee is not included, so make sure you bring some extra cash (2MYR/adult, 1MYR/child). I believe this tour is the best activity you can do on the island, especially if you have no kids. I am only saying this because it seems like most of the activities in Langkawi are children oriented.

Wife and i had the private tour with Francis and the pilot. More than 2 hours journey to the tightest stream at the mangroves forest feeling yourself like in a western documentary or movies. Francis was so well prepared reciting all interesting facts regarding all types of forest in the area and the ecosystem. It is crucial to maintain and retain all these nature's gift to us for generations to come. You got to see fish ponds, parks of yachts as well as flocks of eagle. Our fee was reasonable at RM300++ . Worth every penny.

Had a pleasant day. Great service from Mr. Sharul and the captain of our boat. The weather was a little bit rough and the tide high, so no crocodile Cave or private beach. But definitely still worth it👍

The cheapest mangrove tour I was able to find was 50 myr.. We actually took one with 55 myr per person from Cenang Beach Tourist Information Center (shared boat, 4.30 hours from pick up to return and included drive to the boat and back) which included fish farm, swimming monkeys, eagle feeding, crocodile cave, bat cave with a guide who speaks good English and tells you a lot of funny stories and info about mangroves, eagles, bats, monkeys and Langkawi... The tour operators will try to sell you private tours with 250-350 myr per boat per hour... ask for a shared tour and negotiate it down to 45-50 myr per person or if they include lunch and some more objectives it's ok to cost little bit more :) I loved the most the swimming monkeys and the fish feeding at the fish farm, the mangroves... bat Cave is also nice and eagle feeding interesting... we also found a big snake, very difficult to spot. Crocodile cave is the least interesting and usually on high tide they can't enter with the boats inside... but all the tour worths the money!

We enjoyed our Geopark Mangrove Tour through HBS Evergreen Tours. Our guide Mr. A, and our boat Captain Mr.Z, did a great job in showing us the highlights of the Mangrove Tour. We stopped at several places of interest along the way, and included a basic lunch midway. Great value for a day of fun...must do...enjoy!

Deeply satisfied with their service quality. They offered hotel pickup and drop with lunch included for the 4 hour shared tour at MYR 90 per head. Pickup was at 9 AM sharp as promised, although the tour start got delayed due to delay from the tourists themselves. All locations mentioned in the itinerary were covered with adequate time provided for each. The highlight was the 30 mins at the secluded Pantai Pasir Panjang beach. Amazing boat captains and guide. They even reimbursed the Grab ride cost back to our hotel as their own vehicle was not available for the drop included in the package. Great value for money and thanks for making my tour hassle-free and keeping your word to the letter!

Professional boat guide with lots of patience, knowledge & boating skills. Enjoyable 2 hour scenic ride especially @ monkey colony who are very intelligent ie will sniff any food given to determine if it is edible or poisonous. These well behave forest smart long tail monkey don’t snatch drink, food nor tourists personal belonging. Enjoy the well preserved matured mangrove which protected Langkawi during 2004 Tsunami. Anyone who logs these rite five mangrove will be fined between rm10k to rm500k. Watch about a dozen Protected white (sea) & brown (mangrove) eagles swooping down for food provided by boats. Last boat ride is @ 6pm. Enjoy😁

On of the best attraction on Langkawi. Yesterday we were on Island hopping and it was the worst we saw here - plenty of people everywhere, beach on which can swim and etc. Today was absolutely different - perfect, polite and professional staff, Perfectly prepared program, guide every time explain what will follow, knows everything about fauna and flora in geopark. Recommending!

No 1 Attraction in Langkawi to enjoy unforgettable sights and experiences on this tour to the Kilim Nature Park; an escape to another world. Spread over a huge area, the Kilim Nature Park features a beautiful mix of well-protected green mangrove forests, isolated white beaches and blue lagoons. As you cruise down the calm, winding river, you will observe the wonders of the park's marine ecosystem, its flora and fauna and the natural inhabitants such as the over-hanging 'Bogak Trees', Brown Eagles, Tree Crabs, Monitor Lizards and Macaques. Most interesting parts are feeding the Eagles and navigating through the caves.

The rented boat was overpriced, yet the tour enjoyment deserves it.

Nature at its best. Eagle feeding was surreal. Walk through Bat cave was interesting but after exiting monkeys became a menance. They were trying to attack the tourist..

We took a 4-hour package and had a great time exploring not just the beautiful Kilim mangrove forest by boat, but also took in the amazing scenery of limestone mountains flanking the river - very Guilin-like atmosphere... We also embarked on an interesting trip through the mangrove, river, and sea during the journey, enjoyed feeding the cute coral fish at Dangli Island, saw many majestic eagles soaring overhead (feeding is no longer allowed, due to this spoiling the birds’ diet), experienced sleeping bats hanging on the ceiling at Bat Cave, and had a great swim at Tanjung Rhu Beach (despite the somewhat murky water). Even if choppy waves resulted in our boatman Mr. Jalani being unable to take us to a second beach, the isolated but supposedly more beautiful Pasir Panjang at the northern part of the Langkawi mainland.

And speaking of the ride itself, Mr. Faizal of Nadia Tours (who we booked this excursion with) arranged for a lovely new boat which was driven by the aforementioned Mr. Jalani, who’s a pleasant and informative guide cum boatman throughout the trip!

4 to 6 hours day trip with different activities. Visit to bat cave on speed boat, Langkawi stone, cave like a crocodile and then visit different islands. In the end your are served with sea food.

Geopark management could do better to promote the status of UNESCO conferred to this lovely park. For example, please blow up the logo of UNESCO and be proud of it.

Which include the Seven Wells Waterfalls. Many are not aware of the status.

Can you find UNESCO logo on the entrance board on the photo below? Are we for real? Where are tourism ministry officers and minister? Are they not aware or proud of the UNESCO status?

And, there were Malaysia's very own Three Sisters and The Queen which are not well promoted either. Please see photos below.
