Berjaya Langkawi Resort

A huge thank you to the team at Berjaya for such a wonderful stay.
Fabulous location, lovely chalets over the water, and great food - but what really made it special was the staff.
They were so friendly and accommodating, with such genuine warmth. They never stopped smiling! From Adrian (the General Manager) and Jamal, to the restaurant and bar staff, to the spa staff and the buggy drivers, everyone went above and beyond to create a great experience for us.
We were a large party of 16 and my father had booked 6 chalets for us and amazingly every buggy driver seemed to know who we were and which chalets we were in.
My only pointers would be:
1). While we were fortunate with our chalets, I think some chalets are more 4* than 5*.
2). Some of the cocktails were a bit weak and not to Australian/UK standard, but that may be the norm for Langkawi. That being said, the staff were happy to make them stronger when we asked.
3). The NYE party was great and they out a huge amount of effort into it, but the only thing that let it down was that some of the song choices were more suited to a rock concert than a party. They were great singers though!
All in all, this resort is a gem! We all loved it here and will likely be back.

This is a fabulous resort. The staff will make you feel at home, their service is faultless as they try to ensure that your every need is met. The swim up bar is THE BEST. The only thing that I believe requires improvement is their New Year's celebration. They clearly spend a LOT of money to ensure that their guests have the best time, yet the entertainment was dreadful and just not in alignment to the guests. The MC constantly yelled over the mic (enjoying his own voice more than anyone else did) and the music was either no great singers or hard techno, so they failed to build a full family friendly atmosphere and create excitement in the build up to midnight as it chopped and changed all over the place - I really hope they rethink their strategy for next year. Also as soon as it hits after midnight the full scale pack up starts to commence with tables broken down, chairs stacked etc. They could make this much nicer if they just waited until the next day. My third and final point - The hotel spend a lot of money giving beautiful party packs, but everything is individually wrapped in plastic and after the event we sat on the beach as hundreds of plastic packets were sucked into the ocean.

In summary - this is an incredible resort and experience. My only gripe is that they missed the ball on NYE (despite spending a lot of money to make it incredible for their guests - which is a shame as they truly care) and secondly, a bit more care about picking up litter around the water front huts as there are plastic bottles in the rocks.

I hope to stay here again very soon as it was amazing!

Excellent resort. We felt very well the 5 days we stayed. Next time we will stay longer. Thanks to Manager Uvarajah for your welcome and support. He is truly a special man. If you want a successful vacation without worries, this is the place.

What an amazing place to unwind and relax. All the staff were amazing, the breakfast buffet was out of this world, so many choices and so little time. We ate at all three restaurants and loved them, I would say the Thai restaurant was our least favourite out of all of them. The buggy service to and from room is a great touch no waiting and no long walks if you didn't want to.
The studio we stayed was huge and so comfortable, loved sitting on the balcony watching the wildlife and thunder storms.

This place is amazing. I’m not normally one for resort holidays but this one blew my expectations and whilst it is a beautiful place, the staff made the experience. New Year’s Eve was a lot of fun, although the music was very hit and miss; they played heavy metal at the start and it wasn’t in custom with the crowd. Apart from that, it’s an amazing place and I truly hope to return one day :) A massive thank you to every staff member, you made my experience so memorable.

Surrounded by touches of tropical landscape, each room boasts its own balcony with a lovely view. It provides guests with premium quality of amenities, designs, beddings, and comforters. So, you can rest assured knowing you’re getting the best of everything! Everything was amazing!

This resort caters perfectly for couples or families. Doesn’t get better than waking to a view over the water, surrounded by wildlife, dusky leaf monkeys, monitor lizards, hornbills and much more.
A beautiful, clean resort with everything you need. We enjoyed all meals and tried all the restaurants. Buffet was amazing, so much variety and seafood.
The staff were a highlight and made everything run smoothly and ensured we felt welcome and spoilt for choice every day.

Their NYE Gala was extremely well planned and a great family event to kick off 2024.

I was here for the first time in 2013 and everything was great. Returning after 11 years, I had a little doubt, realizing that the resort could have deteriorated during this time. There are some things that modern resorts do not have here; Berjaya is chosen for nature, silence, the beach and the quality of resort service. The service staff here is very friendly and professional. The places here are amazingly beautiful and you can wake up to the sound of the surf.

We had the best stay at Berjaya - the place is amazing! We stayed in a forest bungalow and it was just beautiful. Nestled in the trees, amongst beautiful walking tracks and right on the beautiful beach. The team are just fantastic, all lovely and friendly. The spa was the best I’ve ever been to - make sure you book in for a massage as soon as your arrive as they book up fast. Our favourite restaurants were the Phan Thai on the jetty and the Beach Brasserie - both with phenomenal views at sunset. The room was kindly done up on arrival with a honeymoon display and sweets. Lots of activities right near by too. You can’t get better.

Lovely resort. I can enjoy both the forest and beach. The room is spacious, the view was peaceful and calm.

Phan Thai restaurant has great view and ambience. The foods were delicious.

The staffs and service were tiptop! Definitely will come back.

I had an exceptional experience at this hotel! The service was outstanding—staff members were incredibly friendly and attentive. From check-in to check-out, they went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. The room was spotless, and any request I had was promptly and efficiently addressed. I highly recommend this hotel for its top-notch service and welcoming atmosphere.

Excellent customer service, my wife has not been well and the reception team allowed us early check in, very kind. Super resort we stayed in the Suite Over Water Villa it was absolutely stunning. We had a 'free bar' which included a couple of beers, soft drinks, pringles, nuts and a bounty chocolate bar. It was replenished the next day. The resort is very spread out & the shuttles to get you from A to B worked very well with very little waiting time. Food excellent, staff lovely. I booked my wife a facial at the spa and Nerul was out of this world. She has had hundreds of facials but never one as good as this one. We would stay here again.

A massive thank you to the wonderful of Berjaya for making my 7 days the best time in Langkawi for me. These guys were there 24/7, even at 3am in the morning they were happy to help. They truly make you feel like royalty. I've read the negative reviews on here and it's either someone complaining about the price or a ridiculous request from a guest who thinks they're entitled. If you are willing to be a decent guest, these guys will bend over backwards to help you! The price is justified with all the goodies they give!

Good place to stay . Go here if you want to be completely away from hustle and bustle. Stayed in their forest chalet, peaceful. Can just enjoy everything in the resort. Only cons which is also a plus point to this hotel is if the chalet is too far from main lobby, have to take buggy all the time.

We stayed 6 nights recently in the chalet on the water and loved it. Fabulous views, great food, welcoming team - everything was lovely and stressless. The resort is very walkable, but they also provide small shuttles within the resort. In-room dining was convenient, great selection and timely delivery. Having balcony overlooking the water was our favorite! I left my Apple earbuds in the room, when checked out. They contacted us right away, but we had no time to come back, since our flight was about to leave. Saad, the duty manager, took care of this matter and mailed forgotten item to our next destination. That was unexpectedly nice of him! We’re very delighted and appreciative of his hospitality. Overall, we’d like to spread a good word about this beautiful place and its people! You will like it over there!

I love this place, the service is superb. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms have are embedded in the middle of the jungle some have sea views but they are all surrounded by lush jungle. The food of the brassiere restaurant is delish, we had the spinach risotto and the black cod, both of them were very good. Service super attentive.

We first stayed here 23yrs ago when our children were very young. We have been back 3 times over years. We still enjoy our stay at this friendly hotel and it has a unique charm of being surround by nature. Accommodation is as it should be i.e. blending with its surroundings. The creaky floors adds to the feeling of living in Kampong houses. It’s uniqueness of being different to modern hotels is it’s attraction. Staff are so friendly. Great buggy rides are enjoyable. Highly recommend the spa.

We spent 8 nights here in rainforest chalet, loved everything about this resort. Rooms were very clean, complimentary mini bar each day, and restocked each day. Breakfast was great, restaurants were fantastic and service was amazing. 10/10 from us.

If you’re looking for something completely different on your next vacation then this is the place for you! Completely surrounded by nature, private beach, and mountain views. Walking distance to the famous Oriental Village and Sky Cab. I had amazing food at this resort and it’s affordable as well.

Brilliant and wonderful is the least i could say about this hotel. From the location, views, cleanliness, facilities, hospitality and food; everything was perfectly created for a relaxed, fun vacation. The staff treated us with the best ‘top-notch’ service. Always putting a smile and ensuring that our stay was pleasant. Mr. Jamal (assistant manager) went beyond expectations to provide us with a perfect experience, always putting the effort to make our stay wonderful and even delivered the best birthday experience for my son. Mr. Khagendra at the pool bar created the best cocktails and was always helpful and hospitable. The restaurant in the middle of the sea, Pahn-Thai, offered delicious food and I must say, the experience was elevated by an outstanding manager, Ms. Li Moi. Thank you all for making our stay a wonderful memory!
