Kunang Kunang Heritage Villas

Booking Kunang Kunang for our Langkawi stay was without the hint of a doubt the best choice we could make. A real Malaysian experience! Beautiful traditional houses in a luscious tropical garden, stunning floating swimming pool and the best staff! The restaurant has utterly delicious food and the brand-new adjacent Teratak Spa will pamper you. I doubt other resorts/hotels on the island have the same allure as this one.
If you have doubts because of the proximity to the airport (like we had while booking), don't worry: yes, you can definitely hear planes taking off and landing, but the airport is really small and there are not many departures during the day, plus there are none at all at night, so nothing will disrupt your enchanting time in this one-of-a-kind gem.

We stayed here for two nights and found a different source of relaxation in ourselves, the ambiance and aura where amazing , the birds flying about and the bats at night were amazing .
We asked the chef for sea bass one night and it was amazing !!
Do not get rid of the chef he is what makes the place and should have a pay increase. The food he produced and his quiet un assuming manner he had about himself was truly adorable . If you want something that’s not on the menu he will source and cook for you .
The swimming amongst the lilies was a lovely atmosphere.

I love this place!! The staffs are really nice and great service ! Breakfast has lot of variety!! The place is it’s clean, though it is amidst complete nature! The pool is right between the pond and also kept maintained! Totally recommend this place !

Exquisitely and authentically designed. Comfortable yet surreal ambience in the room with special lighting and furniture. The pool was the most unique and beautiful I've ever seen - a pool in a lotus pond. Very enjoyable experience staying at Kunang Kunang Villa.

Beautiful, super clean and comfortable houses (stayed for 3 nights in house no 5). Friendly and helpful staff, super tasty restaurant food (unfortunately restaurant closes quite early).

Location wise it might feel a bit too close to the airport (noise) and slightly far from the beach - need to take taxi.

went there for lunch only and didnt expect the restaurant was way beyond my imagination ! The food was really good, match with the price I'd say, the place is clean, beautiful decoration too! I love the fact that they brought up our traditional Malaysian culture as their main concept, hence prove this place is definitely a germ. The journey was quite suspicious I must say that this place is located quite in the middle of nowhere? (For first timer). but it was all worth the journey once we get there.

This resort is located close to the airport away from the limits of the city. The beach or restaurants are at a distance of 5kms. There is a in house restaurant but you can also order food on Grab app.
The rooms are clean, asthetic, traditional Malay villas. Beautifully set up and quite spacious for three people.
The only issue we faced was the AC in the room which was not sufficient inspite of 2 ACs. There also needs ot be atleast 1 well lit light for the whole room.

Excellent place to stay. Service is top notch, and the villas are comfy and quiet. The only negative is the location. It's not near any attraction, just the airport. Food is also excellent but dinner (meals past 5pm) is only available on the weekends.

Simply love staying at this resort. What everybody need for a kampuny vibes holiday. Simplicity at its best yet unique in its own way. Well taken care with all facilities working well. A winning factor is the services given by the staff. Everybody is friendly and all ready to fulfill each guest's request. A must do is to enjoy the beautiness of the main building(lobby) day and night, a 200 year old rumah kampung(more like an istana) from Perak, owned by a maharajalela. We had the kampung style dinner which is tasty and worth the value. The breakfast spread is just nice, Love the small packed nasi lemak with its delish sambal. Every morning we were served with tasty cucur ikan bilis. The teh tarik is a must-have. The pool in the middle of the lily pond is a beauty. My husband and nephew had fun swimming in it. Explore the resort and it's an experience you'll never forget. Truly a gem by the owner Datuk Radzuan Radziwill!

The villas are the most gorgeous spaces to stay in a tranquil and warm location. The pool is fantastic and the restaurant is great.
Room had everything we needed and was cleaned every day as we enjoyed breakfast. We were worried about the heat but the villas are set up so we slept well everynight and stayed cool and comfortable.

Me and my family, we really enjoyed and love the whole experience of our stay. The property well maintain with lushes greenery landscape and lake surrounding the area. These are the highlight of our stay:

Very authentic village inspired resort. Really showcasing the traditional Malay accommodation.

We spent a weekend two weeks ago in a Kunang Kunang villa. Not only is it the most relaxing place it also has the most beautiful and authentic interior. If u look for a unique experience this is the place to be. The staff was the most hostile and friendly we ever experienced. It felt like paradise. Us four girls really had the best time there and hope to come back soon. Thanks again for the belated birthday present. Will be back soon (hopefully!),

We stayed at Kunang Kunang with our two daughters (6&4) for 6 nights and all of us had a great time. Staying in one of this stilishly furnished traditional villas is a very unique experience. The floating pool inside a beautiful lotus pond is something you won't find anywhere else. We had a hard time getting the girls out of it. The food in the restaurant is more than delicious (also for vegetarians). We went there everyday for lunch or dinner (or both;-)). What made our stay perfect was the extremely kind and helpful stuff at Kunang Kunang. Thanks!

My partner and I stayed in Perana Villa for the last 2 nights. We absolutely loved this place. The traditional villa was awesome to stay in and the outdoor bathroom was great. Extremely peaceful place to stay. Very relaxing. Staff are incredibly friendly. Food is fantastic. Highly recommend staying here!

Gorgeous traditional style Malaysian Villas, beautiful resort with a mystical and natural vibe to it.
The restaurant food is absolutely delicious a must to try - we wish we had more space to order everything else!

Truly a slice of paradise. The warmest welcome, excellent facilities (a floating swimming pool?!) and stunning, perfectly refurbished historic villas on stilts all set amongst beautiful, lushly planted gardens. So sad to leave this wonderful place.

Pretty exotic stay. Very clean and surprisingly there were no bugs in the villa during our stay, only saw a couple of them on the checkout day. Traditional Malay house equipped with modern facilities is very civilised. There were several windows that you can open to let the natural light and wind in but we did not want mosquitoes in our room so we kept shut, and yet there were still mosquitoes in the room but not super annoying as electric mosquitoes repeller was provided. Toilet and bathroom were outdoors so you can feel breeze when you bathe.
Breakfast was classic Malay one, the coffee and tea were not to my liking.
A nice place to stay for people who like to experience something different.

We stayed at Kunang Kunang for 5 nights and absolutely loved it.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They always asked us if we are happy with the food and if we need help with our daily planning, etc.

They even adapted the breakfast partly to our veggie needs. The highlight was the Roti bread of the buffet that happened 2 x when more guests were staying in the Heritage Villlas. The other times when only few guests were there we got a super decent menu breakfast (2 sets to choose from and juices, decent coffee), but we definitely preferred the buffet.

Kunang Kunang also offers a very affordable and fast laundry service.

Apart from that we enjoyed our hut a lot. The beds are very comfortable and the semi outdoor bath was our highlight. The hats could be a bit more flood with light, but all in all super charming accomodation.

You should not be too noise sensitive as you hear a bit of "jungle" noices in the hut, the airplanes starting nearby and the mosque in the morning (6 AM). But those are all things you get used to and the hotel, the staff and the otherwise calm jungle like area is worth it.

The location was a bit outside of Langkawi. We always took either Grab or drove by scooter which was a 8-10 min ride to Cenang Beach area.

We can highly recommend the Kunang Kunang Heritage Villas and will definitely return when we are in Langkawi

Loved this place so much, Rias and all his staff were amazing! Went above and beyond their chores for us!
The pool is fantastic! Floats above a lily pad pond!
Next to the airport but this does not hinder your stay at all.
We, because we extended our stay stayed in 3 different villas!

Temonyong, outside bathroom! Brilliant, at the bottom of the resort nice and quiet.

Teriang, half way along next to the lily pond quiet too.
Outside bathroom, by the way, this is not to be frowned upon it's fabulous! Showering or having a bath in there out in the fresh sunshine was tremendous!

And last of all,
Kutai, inside bathroom.

All have air conditioning and fans throughout! Huge bed! Tea/coffee making, fridge and safe.
Restaurant opens different times each day Zaid the chef has amazing food!
There was an approximate 2foot Asian Water Monitor who visits the poolside deck to bask!
How fantastic is that!
Overall what a stay!
