d'Tandoor Restaurant Penang Island

Tried this restaurant on our first day in Penang and welcomed by this warm hearted gentleman.
Butter chicken masala, Sweet lassi, garlic naan, Malai Tikka, Ras Malai were really mouthwatering. The ambiance is great and spacious.
But the what blew our mind was not just the taste but the generous hosting from this restaurant staff (forgot to ask the name). Since it was scorching heat outside, we were offered a complimentary ice water in the beginning and when we were leaving, to our outmost surprise, this gentleman handed over us a chilled lemon drink as it was hot outside. This can only be done out of a pure heart.
Definitely recommend this place for the families.

A great place for great Indian cuisine. We had a great time there. Food:s great service was great too. I spent quite a bit there but it was worth it. Highly recommend. A place not to miss if you like Indian cuisine.

The food serving time a bit slow. Great taste and good environment. Too bad when I go l, cash only, which quite troublesome for me ..

We had the Biryani prepared in the bamboo steamer and the chicken Kadai. Both dishes were delicious and plentiful. With the naan we were so stuffed but really enjoyed it. I highly recommend this restaurant if you in Penang and looking for some amazing north Indian cuisine.

Had a pleasant dining experience here. The beef biryani was off the menu but it tasted the best amongst all. Good service from the friendly staff

Found this place on Google recommendation and went to try their food.
Reached there at around 2:30pm, almost closing after lunch. We were given a seat and a menu was given to us, we ordered our food i.e. mutton roghan josh, butter masala paneer, Hyderabadi briyani, garlic naan and for desert we ordered mango kulfi and gajar halwa.
After taking our order we were served with papad & chutney as a starter. Food arrived after a short wait, the garlic naan was very nice and soft, the mutton was also tender and cooked to perfection but little bit bland for my taste so I requested for some green chillies. Next was the paneer butter masala and it was great, loved the taste. The briyani was cooked well with ample mutton in it. All in all the food was really good.
What I loved the most was the gajar halwa and mango kulfi, they were simply great tasting.
Prices are on the higher side of the scale but it's worth paying for the quality once in a while.
Recommended to try at least once for either lunch or dinner.

Few month's back we gets chance to visit this beautiful authentic Indian rich deliciousness of unique with great ambiences and peaceful atmosphere around..at ten precinct .. Services was so nice and polite response from Mr.Nagaraj who served awesome..once again wish to come Back.. people near gurney area and needs pleasent atmosphere I would recommend this restaurant..Nawabi Mixed tandoor kebabs,tandoor roti ,fish mehti must Try it without fail..Such a awesome favourable delightful Delishes from chef special..Diwali Special went nicely made from D'tandoor

A good break from CNY bingeing. The Butter Chicken Masala is a classic favourite. There is an silkiness and unctuousness to the sauce that begs to be soaked up by the naan bread!

Bendi masala is a good option if you like ladies finger and something with a little more spice.

The Fish Methi sauce was a nice contrast to the Butter Chicken with it's lighter sauce. Wish they would have used fresh local fish instead, seems like frozen dory or perch was used.

Awesome food. We ordered mixed dal, Chicken kadhai and Naan and everything was finger licking.

Food is really nice and surroundings is relaxing

I had visited Penang, n was in search of indian restaurant nearby my hotel. So i found this on google suggestions. On the 1st sight it seems to be the lil' expensive. But then all menu's were having average price and the worth taste. I ate here near about 5 times.
Staff was too polite n quick in service.

I came here almost at the time of their closing to get take out . They were kind to serve me. I ordered butter chicken, and daal. Both the items tasted really good. A but on the higher side but very good. Halal
