Irama Dining

I recently dined at Irama Dining and had a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, combining traditional Malay flavors with a modern twist, creating a unique and delightful fusion cuisine. The ambiance was elegant and sophisticated, perfect for a fine dining experience. The service was exceptional, with the staff being attentive and friendly. I highly recommend Irama Dining to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.

My families celebrated my mom’s birthday here. The experience was amazing. The staff was very nice and welcoming, food was ver good and the price is quite reasonable. I would say this is one of the best restaurants in Penang.

Really very good food at reasonable prices, gorgeous comfortable restaurant with warm friendly service! 7 of us had an awesome time feasting. Will definitely come back again & bring our friends!

We were lucky to get a seat for two very last minute. This is a restaurant you will missed if you are not looking as it is at 2nd floor. We just happened to be in the neighbourhood and decided to rely on Google Map to find us good food. What a pleasant surprise to find this classic Malays cuisine, the palette is well balanced, plating is beautiful, service is top notched and price reasonable for such a setting. We enjoyed it so much and definitely will come back for more !

Great location! Nice ambience and super tasty foods! I have food coma here since everything is perfect! Luckily they also have a branch in KL. Definitely will be my favourite place to have dinner!

The food here is absolutely amazing! A friend recommended this restaurant to me and it did not disappoint. Every dish was full of flavor and perfectly balanced. And the prices are reasonable. I will have to return so that I can try more items on the menu. Highly recommend!

Honestly, it was a Dream to come here. I've been wanting to come to this place for a while. The food is absolutely delicious. The fish was so good! The salads and spices were heavenly! Must come, ya!

Wonderful place to dine in with family and friends. There are outdoor and indoor seats. Menu is mainly malay and balinese food. Taste is awesome. Service is good and fast.

I actually want to book Tamara by Irama but since it was fully booked, I was instead referred here. And it certainly did not disappoint. Irama Dining serves you Malaysian Fusion food. I find the food quality the same as Tamara and also the ambience and deco is very nice as well. I always love a place with a bit of nostalgic/classic feel and this place fits the bill.

I can say almost all the food taste great. My family particularly love the otak otak and we ordered 2nd serving. The rest of the food like cucur jagung, chicken (we ordered two types except rempah one), udang petai, tauhu bakar, pandan chicken, kerabu mango and two types of rice (blue one and a other is yellow color). Food presentation is very nice and the taste is great as well.

Parking can be a bit challenging but we got lucky as there is empty road side parking spots just in front of the shop. Suggest that you call to make reservation as the shop is not really that big compare to Tamara.

Definitely 5 stars.

What a great gem to find, a local Malay restaurant with traditional authentic dishes. Equipped with classic kampung feel atmosphere and friendly staffs, this place offers all the experience needed for a great dinner. Rizal was cheerful and bubbly as usual recommending the taste buds that suits your palette. The mocktail with local ingredients is a must try, using lemongrass, pandan and basil seed is just great. Dishes were served fast with great flavors and well balanced spice. To sums it up, a must visit in Penang.

Thank u for accommodating us 4 diners. Last minute reservations. The restaurant on the 2nd floor. Lovely decorated with Malay influences, the mural painting was amazing, staff were friendly and attentive and food were served quick presentable and delicious too. Look at pictures… oh and also the background music was delightful. Downside is I was hoping to hv Malay dessert but there’s none except the fried banana drowned in cream and ice cream. It’s a no no.

Good restaurant to bring family, friends for special occasions. Price slightly on the pricier side but portion wise can feed 2-3 pax.

Food wise - i recommend the Cucur Jagung with sweet spicy sauce; Ikan Bakar and fresh squids and prawns, and Kerabu Mangga. Fresh water (cold/warm) provided for free.

Booking was done via phone call and provided us with private dining area. Birthday song and complimentary cake was also given to us upon request.

Outdoor has a balcony overlooking the Explanade and a clear night, can observe the big cruise ship docking at the pier.

Will visit again.

Love the ambiance and very attentive staff. Service laju. A bit pricey but the food was very delicious! Love the ayam kerutup and smoked duck.

Came here for lunch with a prominent family. Great food. Greater service. I recon this place would b great in the night over looking padang kota lama aka fort cornwallis.

This was the best meal we had in our trip to Penang! The food here is really delicious, and one of my favourites is the Kerabu Kacang Botol Sotong (the dish with the small squid and assorted spices and four-angled beans). Also really liked the nasi ulam!

Will definitely come back again the next time I visit Penang again :) Prices are a bit higher but the quality of food is just 🥰

This is probably one of the best place i have been to for Halal food. Love their service and their food is exceptionally good! However, I would wish that they have more on their menu. Nevertheless, I am definitely recommending this place to others and would revisit again!

The restaurant serves authentic Malay cuisine. Overall the food is delicious and authentic except the Ikan Bakar was a little disappointment (not ‘Bakar’ enough). There’s a Fusion menu for who are less adventurous ;)
Our favourites are Nasi Beringin/ Ulam (very good) Cucur Jagung, Kurma Lamb Shank, Kerabu (Kacang Botol / Paku) & Sambal Petai!
Staff are warm and their service is good.
The view at the balcony overlooking esplanade (Padang Kota Lama) is rare sight to behold.
Perfect for a small family dinner, it has also private room. Wheelchair accessible.
This is definitely the perfect place for the authentic Malay cuisine with a good dining vibe.
The price is fairly reasonable for the authentic Malay cuisine in such a cozy dining setting in the heart of Penang!
