Rozanas Batik

Such a chill batik painting experience, it was 35rm for an hour session, perfect if you would like a break from the heat and cool down before going back out exploring the heritage trail!

Since it was off season on a weekday (February) post Cny, the workshop space was empty so we didn’t had to book beforehand

Loved having our team builder there to learn about Batik and the amazing art of coloring! Great value! Everyone had fun! Would recommend to anyone! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

A fun place to learn about batik with the lovely owner, Pn Rozana. Very enjoyable and informative process to learn about batik.

This is a hidden gem! It’s definitely a place you should visit in Penang. **If you like to experience the traditional cloth [batik] painting. I found this shop through trip advisor and I saw a lot of good reviews about this batik store. So, I decided to give it a try. First, we have to decide which session we want to take 1 hour/2hour session. After that, Kak Rozana teaches us some basic techniques such as how to test the colour before you paint, how to mix the colours that you want etc. Me and my friends joined the one hour session (RM 35), but we painted for 2 hours🤣. So, if you are not in a rush, do spend some time to try it out.

Spent around 2 hours at this batik shop colouring our own batik! Rozana was so friendly and guided us through the steps on how to make batik :) Super fun and therapeutic!! Next to this shop is their batik clothing store. The prices are as follows: 1hour colouring at 36RM, 2hour drawing and colouring for 75RM, very worth the price!

The studio is not that big but very cozy. The owner will help and guide us through out all painting process. This is not everyone's cup of tea, so if you don't enjoy painting and artsy thing, please do not force yourself. I really recommend if you like to learn about batik textile art and not have to travel to Kelantan or Terengganu.

Returned home with my first batik painting! Rozana's expertise in this traditional artwork is evident when she explains and guides her workshop attendees. I took the 1 hour painting and it was very calm, relaxing and brings out the little artist in you.

This was fun, i enjoyed it. It was a hot day and me and my friend kinda needed some place to cool off. This was a fun activity to do with a loved one. Rm35 per person. 👍👍👍

A quaint space for you to try your hands on batik art! You can choose to paint readily-waxed pieces or design/wax/paint your own creations!

Rozana is very passionate and open minded artist. She will take on your ideas and share the techniques she thinks they best suit them. I went back twice to learn more from her. Some of her work is exposed at the Batik museum in Georgetown. If you want to spend a very pleasant, chilled and creative afternoon, this is where you want to go. Highly recommended!

Highly recommended to learn batik painting end to end (2hr session). Rozana is such an amazing teacher with incredible patience. Thank you for imparting knowledge and sharing techniques. Girls truly enjoyed the workshop and have definitely learnt that art/life is what you make it to be😊 We hope to return for another class soon. Suitable for families/kids. Rozana's nurturing approach facilitates learning well.

This is such a great place to learn Batik! Rozana is a very kind, helpful and patient teacher and just a wonderful being :) I learned so much from her throughout the whole process of making my Batik and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to meet her and learn from her.

I highly recommend you take a visit to Rozana's shop if you are at all interested to learn Batik - this was the best thing I did while in Malaysia and I can't wait to make more Batik after my travels! Rozana is a inspiring artist, wonderful teacher, and just a beautiful person - I hope to return for a visit one day!!

My friend and I attended a two hour workshop at Rozanas and loved it so much we came back for another the following day! Rozana is incredibly patient and helpful when teaching various Batiking techniques. She is incredibly talented and her knowledge is extensive! She encourages originality, creativity, and exploration! We loved our time spent in her studio and we will definitely be back next time we’re in Penang!

Rozana is a phenomenal artist and wonderful woman who takes you through every step of the Batik technique! Take a one hour class and walk away with your own piece of batik art from Penang. I highly recommend it!!!

We came here because we wanted to learn some more about batik, and to engage our creative side while we were on holiday.

Rozana is a wonderfully patient teacher, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.
