The Logan Memorial is a Gothic-styled monument built in memory of James Richardson Logan, a Scottish lawyer who successfully fought for the rights of Asians in colonial Penang. It now stands in front of the new Sessions and Magistrates Court at the junction between Light Street and Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah.

An elegant colonial monument which is hard to find one of its kind in Malaysia's public spaces (excluding churches).

Maybe a repainting or restoration process is needed in making it more beautiful.

A simple Gothic style memorial built by the people of the Straits Settlement to commemorate the Scottish Lawyer James Richardson Logan who helped a lot of Asian migrants during the colonial Penang period.

The memorial was built in 1873 on the premise of the Penang Supreme Court but was moved across the street in 2007.

Nice little memorial for a quick snapshot for your memories.
