Beng Huat Asam Fish Chicken Rice

Maybe my review will be a bit biased as I grew up eating this food but after so long, I still thoroughly enjoy the food here. Must try item for me:

Fried fish
Assam soup

The rest usually i will add on like fried chicken gizzard or liver, and other small add on items.

The chilli sauce here is special for me. It is very watery, and sour but not too spicy and it fits well for me.

Environment in the coffee shop now is very nice and spacious. Cooling and they also start using robot for food delivery! I have not much complains here as it is also my comfort food whenever I am around at Seberang Jaya area, will definitely try dropping by this shop for my lunch. 😉

One of my favourite Chicken Rice in Penang. The taste is still same as usual.

Very good service. The aunty came and asked us if we wanted to add rice which is really unusual since other places don't practice this but it was a great gesture in my opinion. There's even a lady who can speak Tamil hahaha that's shocking. In terms of food I have been there ever since I was young so I can assure you the assam soup/fish and kicap chicken does taste really good.

Best asam chicken rice in Penang Mainland in my humble opinion

Simple dish but absolutely perfect in terms of the layering of flavours and most importantly succulent chicken accompanied by the famed tamarind soup.

Excellent crispy roasted chicken rice. Been going to this place for more than 15 years now. The taste is still the same. The chicken is crispy and roasted to perfection. Salted pork is also another must-try item. It's delicious. They open until 4pm. Try to avoid lunch hour as the order will come late due to the crowd. Best time to go is 10am to 12pm or 2.30pm to 4pm. They close at 4pm. This is one Penang's hidden gems. Must try!

Good social distancing measures and even has droid to bring over your drinks and food. Chicken is flavourful and there are lots of side dishes you can add on. Only thing is portions are a bit small so you may need to order more.

Great chicken rice, salted roaster pork is good, the lady who help to take order was friendly. You have to order at counter, food will be delivered to your table by a robot.

The best Assam soup served with chicken, pork spring roll, dark soy sauce eggs, veggies and.bean sprouts. Price is right, service is friendly. Highly recommended.
