It is good to see how the place has been renovated and revamped to a great and modern looking urban park with a playground, a marketplace with occasional events and a canal, with the old trees retained. Also, it is located in the middle of Georgetown, just walking distance from Komtar and 1st Avenue.
Nice place to hangout and have a walk.

So far its fun for my kids to play. Only problem is parking area not convenient. Further more the slide is dark inside even though there's a light on the top of the structure.

In Sia Boey's urban embrace,
Where history whispers through each space,
I wandered on an evening's grace,
Amidst the remnants of time's embrace.

Once a vibrant hub, bustling and grand,
Sia Boey stood as Penang's heart, hand in hand,
A market square where cultures entwined,
Trade and life's tapestry uniquely aligned.

Now, a haven for those seeking respite,
Sia Boey Urban Archaeological Park, a delight,
Strolling amidst echoes of the past,
A tranquil escape from city's fast.

Ancient bricks and fragments worn,
Tell tales of eras since long gone,
As I sauntered beneath shaded trees,
Imagination danced with each gentle breeze.

The air hummed with a bygone tale,
Of merchants, artisans, a vibrant trail,
And in this moment, I could feel,
The whispers of history, surreal.

With each step, the park unveiled,
Layers of stories, carefully veiled,
A symphony of cultures interlaced,
In Sia Boey's memory, embraced.

As the evening sun began to wane,
A sense of wonder did remain,
For in Sia Boey's hallowed ground,
A legacy of the past I found.

So, dear friend, your evening walk,
In Sia Boey's embrace, let history talk,
Let the park's enchantment guide your way,
As you wander through its ancient display.

Used to be one of the dirtiest river back then, but it has now transformed into a clean river, with crystal clear water, and even fishes can survive. Kudos to the local authorities and Penangites.

It's a small and leisure park, suitable for evening walks. Nice place. Worth visiting.

Parking can be difficult. But there's a private parking area right behind the park, and it costs RM3.

Unit and only one park can found in Penang Georgetown area. Environment was clean and beautiful, guess can bring kids enjoy the playground and see the live fish in the pond. Adult also can take a rest and calm down in this green area. Recommended place for everyone and tourist.

Its clean, playground is good for kids 5 years and above because the main slide is quite high and parents not allowed to enter. So for safety reason make sure your kids are capable to go up by themselves. View is much better at night with lights from the paper balloon.

This can be a prototype for other Malaysian cities how to reserve the heritage building and turn it to urban public space. My kid love this place, the playground, the fish, it’s a small green lung in Georgetown. But the abandoned Shoplots at the center still closed with hoarding, it seem might take longer time to complete the entire project.

Great effort by the state government and parties involved to convert this historical site into a recreational park, complete with a playground and paved walkways, yet maintaining the canal, grand old trees and structures.

A nice place to walk in the town. A good place to unwind and relax. Former canal has been turned into a long pond with lots of fishes. Calm and relaxing even though surrounded by roads with heavy traffic. With good trees and garden, you can't really feel the stress of traffic around you. This place is well kept and clean. Such place is really in need for a busy town.

Came here again after 2 or 3 years and the place is still so well maintained. The playground facilities are in a good usable condition.

A very nice park to visit especially during the night. The river is so clear you can see the fish(ikan koi) even at night. The hot air balloon lights are so pretty. A good place to hang around and take pictures. Clean park too.

After 8?9? Months finally they fixed it, along with patched all the holes but there's still left two things broken

Great park for a leisure morning walk and let the kids enjoy some healthy outdoor playtime. Then cross the roads to enjoy local breakfast at the nearby coffee shops.

Nice to take photos here
Very beautiful hand-drawn lanterns decorates along the walk way of this park garden. Understand there might have some bugs, ants around but this is definitely worth a walk. Be careful on cars and motorcycles at the crowded main roadway just beside this park garden. Introverts might feel uncomfortable to take photo here. Well...just walk abit and find your comfort zone. I felt a bit reluctant to leave this dreamland

An interesting place for locals to promote mostly handmade items for sale and also there's alot of foodstalls especially on cakes and cookies. Only open on Sat and Sun.
