Ghee Hiang

They are the legendary tau sar pneah in Penang, celebrating their 165th anniversary, but their crispy matcha cookies were unexpectedly so good! I ate the whole box in one sitting. If you don't like sweet cookies, their almond cookies are a good choice. Super crunchy and fragrant almonds, baked into perfection.

For tau sar, I recommend their double baked tau sar. I like that they are not too sweet, and very crunchy with a good fragrance. When you get the tau sar here, you don't only get a nice confectionery but you get a taste of their long history of tradition and culture. Extra tip, if you go to the store, they have fresh brewed coffee too. A perfect match for the tau sar!

Ghee Hiang is a household name famous for its sesame seed oil, but they are also famous for their Tambun Pneah and Tau Sar Pheah. Good for visitors to buy back as a souvenir from Penang with a taste. Just like Heam Heang, they have both salted and sweetened biscuits. I prefer the salty flavor ones 😋.

One of the famous and must buy TSP in Penang. Nice shopping environment with aircond and ample of parking space just outside the shop. Very nice packaging and ideal for gift to friends. Individual packets is available (4 x TSP in one packets).
