This was an incredibly FUN experience; we felt like children again! The staff at reception were helpful abs explained the photography element of the experience. You get lockers for your shoes, and they are safe. The photographers on the inside are GREAT; they help with poses, give you time to check the pictures, and you still have time to look around!

Fun place, they manage the crowds really well with staggered entrances and staff in each room to take the photos.

Overall a very good experience, nice way to take a break from the heat outside if you are exploring Georgetown

Very well managed place. Even though it’s crowded, the crowd management is done pretty well. There is an indoor seated area with a/c to accommodate customer while waiting to enter. Waiting time is around 20 mins. There are old ‘funny prank’ videos played in the waiting room to entertain customers esp kids, so you don’t be bored or feel waiting for too long. You need to take off your shoe before entering and the shoes are well kept by the museum’s team. Inside the museum, there are staff that help you to take pictures for free and guide you on how to pose. This is the best part of the experience which is not available at other similar places. Location wise, it is within walking distance from Penang road and Chowrasta market where a lot of famous restaurants are located.

Price wise is reasonable and highly recommended.

Impressed with the arrangement that their staff took photos for visitors. They advised how to pose, when to take video and best of all, they will use your phone to take all the photos and videos. We had a great time. Highly recommend !!!

It was a nice place to have upside down experiences. Me and my siblings were having so much fun there. 🤗
There was a queue when i was there but the services were fast. Also, all the staff were good, they were guiding us inside the museum. They told us what posed do we need to make and took the pictures.

I visited at least 50 different locations in Malaysia in three weeks. I did not have time to review all of them then. Looking back at some of the places I visited, gave me a little more time to digest all my experiences. One of them was the Upside Down museum in Penang.
It was a fun place for group. Definitely, not a solo visit like some museums where you can spend time reading and viewing some of the artefacts. This museum is like a playground to enjoy with friends and family. That's the best I can put it. It is fairly small and it doesn't take long to navigate through the rooms. As the name implies everything in the rooms were upside down. The fun bit was the illusions in the photos taken. Some of the action shots we were asked to pose for photo did not make sense. But, for the fun of it we did it and enjoyed the experience. You can be as creative as you want to be for the photograph. At the end of the visit they offered the option to choose your favourite photos to print on fridge magnet. That was extra service of course.
Overall, worth the visit and a memorable experience.

one of the must visit in Penang, the most unusual museum in Penang, the Upside Down Museum. true to its name, most of everything you will see here is hanged upside down but not too worry, there are numerous staff in each section who will assist you to take the photos & videos & you will be surprised when you personally see the results. it’s amazing, fun, hilarious & truly enjoyable visit.

Brilliant concept with a wonderful staff. They assist you with everything and make the photo’s for you.
It was so funny. The price more than worth!
If you are in Georgetown, make sure you pass by.

I would say this place is definitely a work of art. The details, the colour and the design of the layout make the place so vibrant and interesting. Plus point for this place - the staff as free photographers make the visitors at ease and enjoy the experience of being around this unique house. The other staff are also very helpful and friendly too. The downside - quite a challenge to get a parking place and the parking is not free except for Sunday. You need to download apps Penang Smart Parking for the online payment. Overall experience? Definitely a must visit if you go to Penang!

Place for many funny pictures. For every room is already personal who takes care about you, takes the photos for you and know where and how to place in the room to get a very funny picture. I liked it as a nice variety during the day.

Very good fun! Place was superbly organized, ushered from room to room and our photos taken from the experienced staff to ensure the right angle is captured. The beauty lies in looking back at the pictures in the comforts of your home/hotel at the end of the day, after rotating it, and laughing with your family and/or friends.
Tip: Gotta remove shoes in the "rooms" so go barefoot inside so the pics look more realistic.
Protip: For young children who can't "touch" the items in their suggested poses, get them to squat instead. It's of utmost importance to follow the suggested poses and touch the right surfaces.

Super fun and highly recommended for young and old, families, couples or friends. After the purchase of tickets, you’d be required to remove your footwear and it’s advisable to leave your bags in the lockers provided. Carry your mobile phones for photo-taking. You’ll be ushered to a waiting area until your queue number is called. Each “exhibit” will have a staff to indicate and guide you how and where to pose and the staff stationed in each exhibit will take the picture for you using your mobile phone. It is actually very helpful. A whole lot of fun. Hopefully it would be replicated in other cities soon. P.S. apparently the idea originated in the Netherlands and was then replicated by the owner who is a Malaysian architect. Go and experience for yourself and hope you have as much fun as we did!

This place was a lot of fun. They tell you how to pose and move you through the exhibit pretty quickly, but all the staff are friendly and lent my mom a power bank so we could keep charging her phone for the photos!

It was great not a bad price at all and the staff are there to help you take the photos. Very seem less experience and got to experience everything. Not a lot of time to explore the exhibitions if it's busy and they move you along to the next photo opportunity.

As a whole I would absolutely recommend the upside down museum, if you are looking for a light hearted afternoon activity and are in Penang, this is the place!

Not everything is upside down, it's all about perspective. Friendly staff and good value for money.

We really enjoy ourselves here especially the kids. Though a little bit expensive, but consider it worth every single cent. The staff here recorded videos, took pictures for us, directed what shall we do and how the picture should look like.

Had a really awesome time here at this unorthodox museum! There were staff as every station, teaching us how to pose for pictures with the best effect. Despite the huge crowd, the staff were friendly and professional. We truly appreciate the amount of work being put in to create the exhibits and we were truly blown away at every turn. This is the first time, we were upside down in every picture and what an experience it was!
Everyone had great laughs taking all the memorable photos.
