Cafe Cendol Taman Rimba (pulau Asmara)

Hidden gems of delicious food especially laksa! Trust me imma hantu laksa. We came here back to back for two days only to devour the rich and luscious laksa 🤤 My mom and i even tapau 3 bag of laksa back to KL lol. My husband had fried kuew tiow and mee hoon bakso whereas my toddler had meehoon soup and chicken rice; all yummy! The owner, his wife and male staff was kind and helpful. The owner himself went out of his way to find ice cream for my cranky toddler. The place was clean and fans available to keep us cool. Thank you and may your business prosper! Ordered iced milo, char kuey teow, nasi ayam chicken chop special, cendol special. Good food, lovely owner. Walking distance from Bayview resort, either by beach or road.

The place serves delicious local foods, and the owner is extremely welcoming. Everything is freshly cooked to order and they are happy to tweak the recipe for you, for example if there are ingredients or spices that you don't want.

Although off the beaten track my partner and I found this restaurant to serve amazing local cuisine at an affordable price. The waiter was great, going out of his way to explain his menu to us and give recommendations. He was very friendly and nice to talk to.
The restaurant is most easily accessed by walking to the end of the beach and joining the road where you'll shortly come across it.

The best place to eat in BF incredibly delicious authentic home cooked food - but you MUST save room for dessert. The cendol is incredible, the mango so fresh and sweet. The owner is also really friendly. Our baby came too - very baby friendly w high chairs.

What a great little place. Although on the main road it's hidden from view as it's on a bend. Do yourself a favour and slow down and look out for this place. Also, watch out for the five geese that seem to call this place home.

We just went there for afternoon coffee and dessert. I had the Kopi (which was excellent) and the Ice Kacang - also excellent. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. She even laughed at my reaction when I saw the HUGE Ice Kacang (Special) she brought out to me.

We didn't try any of the food, but we'll do that next week now that we know how to get there.

By the way, you can access the beach from here by walking down the hill and past the fisherman's huts. We walked down to have a look. Not great as a beach but very interesting as it's a working fishing village.

Edit 8 Sep 2023. Came back to try the food and it was excellent. Had the Nasi goreng chicken. Very flavorful. Will be back, I think I found my new favorite place.

Lovely little find away from the town. I tracked it down in search of cendol - and so glad I did! Worth the walk. Great cendol and great service. Worth a stop!

The owner and his wife are super friendly! The food is awesome as well. Cendol and ABC (ice ball) is superb as well. Nice for a hot weather here. Should try their kway teow goreng; delicious!

Good Chendol at 6MYR especially after a long walk on a hot day. Location is directly next to the road with parking lots. And close to the entrance of the iron waterfall.

A good stopover for any drivers or aspiring hikers.

There were many locals and foreigners alike. Store owner is a really friendly person. Would definitely come back again for a visit.

I had a Mango Cendol and a Lemon /Pineapple ice drink. My husband had Chicken and an Icy coffee. All of it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Loved it.

Petite malay dessert stall located at the side of the Teluk Bahang road. I had cendol with glutinous rice. Not the tastiest but still good. Owner is super friendly. Highly recommended if you are driving back to Georgetown via the Teluk Bahang road.

Amazing food which is carefully prepared. Nasi goreng ayam has generous portion, with fried egg, taste is authentic, if you like chilli food, then come. Mango chendol is authentic too. Owner is super friendly and welcoming

Super friendly uncle willing to introduce the menu in English. Food variety is quite big for both my parents and kids though menu is simple. Food is nice and portion big enough. Recommend if you are in this region! Shop provides free pandan leaf water upon request👍

The Cendol pulut was very tasty. The flavor is very rich and they add red beans and corn. Many fruit juices are available too. It's worth to go out of your way and stop by.

This fine gentleman was kind and generous with the ingredients in his chendol and he was flexible and willing to adjust for a low(er) carb requirement by omitting the sugary elements such as gula malaka (palm sugar syrup). Went back twice during my trip. Great guy and pleasant service attitude! 5 ✨! 😀
