Booked a physiotherapy appointment to check on my injured knee on the phone with the receptionist of the physiotherapy center.

She forgot to mention that there are two physiotherapy centers, one of them is on the island and the other on mainland which is not common knowledge for a foreigner. I went to the island center, not knowing that there is another center, to find staff confused and refusing to see me because I didn’t have a referral letter from the orthopaedic doctor. Next thing, they sent me to the speciality hospital next door on the six floor, all this after having waited 1hr in the physiotherapy center with an injured knee.

I spend another 30min waiting and registering in the orthopaedic department to be informed that there were no doctors available. This is not the way to treat a patient that is experiencing pain and comes to the hospital for care and relief.

I’ve lived in many countries, and been to a few clinics in Penang too but this has been by far the worse experience I’ve ever had in a hospital and it’s seriously concerning.

Over pricing physio treatment, better go else where.
