Don't overlook this inconspicuous alley with one of the best Kway Teow Thng in Penang

1. The soup Kway Teow Thng was light and easy on the stomach. It was very clean tasting as well as easy to finish. The chicken balls and pork balls were very tasty, obviously homemade and authentic
2. White chicken: lying on a bed of beansprouts, coupled with the chili proved to be a simple hit for everyone. Was so good we had to order a second portion

The shall is in an alley. Just behind the health centre. Authentic feel. Great food taste with reasonable price. A big soup fish ball noodle with drink cost only RM8. Shall be back!

Step into a flavor haven with the Koey Teow Theng at this spot several times..
Their koey teow theng still remain superb broth! Also, the charming old-style outdoor seat create a delightful dining atmosphere which I liked it.

Though it comes abit pricey compared to others I'd eaten, merely overall freshness and deliciousness of the food, especially the standout chicken meat balls, make it a worthwhile indulgence again~

Possibly the tastiest kway teow th’ng in Penang. Over the years, since discovering it by chance, we’ve been here countless times whenever we’re in Penang and we’re never disappointed.
Tip: They’re closed Tuesdays. And the lady preparing the food also takes your orders…and though waiting time may, sometimes, be long, they always get it right and you’ll receive your food in good time. Enjoy.

Worth the travel to try the food. Not bland, just right flavor, right serving size. One of the few soup that I finished 100% except the chili bits. Will definitely go back for more when I can.

I loved this so much. The fish balls were juicy and delicious. The pork tendon ball was very special. Not crowded at all and good price for the portion. Highly recommend!

A little tiny stall in an alleyway between two buildings along Clarke Street is where you will find this nondescript stall dishing out one of Penang's favourite foods. This Koay teow thng (rice noodles in soup) served here has a very popular following with locals and tourists alike, and peak dining hours will see the tiny alleyway filled up quickly. Luckily, they have combined with the cafe just next to them so that they can serve their food in that cafe as well.

This stall is different from others in that they not only offer a basic bowl of the dish, but also gives you options to add on other ingredients not normally found in others. These include additional chicken meat, skin, innards and also fish balls, meat balls, vegetables and even an egg. There is also an option to order the chicken meat alone along with bean sprouts.

Everything they offer is neatly displayed on mini posters, including a picture of a basic Koay teow thng. Menus are in Chinese and English, so the tourist will have no trouble ordering.

Parking is not really a problem here as Clarke Street is not that busy.

The food is here is delicious - even the basic bowl will be sufficient for most people, so there's no need to go overboard unless you want to. The soup in Koay teow thng is the key ingredient, since it determines the taste of the entire bowl. The soup here is rich and full of flavour.

While there are other stalls around Penang that also sell Koay teow thng, this is probably one of the best around.

Super understated stall with seats inside a shop house and inside a lane. Obviously a local favourite. Not crowded when we were there but still a bit of a wait. Chicken-based broth, fluffy Koay Teow with chicken slices and an assortment of balls - fish ball, pork ball (marinated with ginger for a lovely lift), fried meat ball (with a hint of 5-spice powder). Loved the variety and the surprising subtle differences in each ball. I imagine a great hangover cure and comfort food for a rainy day.

Hidden gem of Koay Teow Th’ng in Penang island. Hidden is a small road by Argyll road.

Food : the koay Teow soup is very delightful, the soup is not too overpowering with flavour, light yet fresh. The pork tendon ball is the surprise. The ngar choy kai, chicken side dish is not your normal silky smooth chicken but with a firm texture, sause is nice and flavourful. Tips of good koay teow Th’ng is to have the yellow noodle with koay teow as it add in the texture. 5/5

Price : cheap 5/5

Location: need to on a look out as you might missed it, plenty of road side parking

Overall : 5/5 one of my fav breakfast place

Very delicious Kway Teow though is sitting by the alley. It is like alfresco dining Penang-style.
A tiny bowl with assortment of fish/meat balls and chicken meat. Simply comfort-foodish!!!

Order a bowl for RM4.50 and I was delighted by a variety of ingredients in a simple comforting broth. The highlight of the dish was the ginger ball. It was so good that I decided to order another bowl of it for Rm3.50. (Just the ginger ball soup)

This koay teow soup is located in the alley behind Caltex jalan Argyll. It's been operating for the past few decades.

Koay Teow soup is nice, broth is clear and flavourful, the rice noodles come with one large and a smaller fish ball, one pork meat ball, and a pork tendon ball.
One of the very delicious ingredients that I love is the pork tendon ball. It has a rather unique texture, and a gingery taste as well. The dry version comes with bean sprouts. The soup version by default doesn't come with bean sprouts but can be added on special request.

Price is rather cheap, one ordinary bowl costs only rm5.50. there are a whole list of ingredients which can be added at an extra cost.

Parking is difficult during lunch hours.

For the tendon ball, I will definitely revisit. request.
