As a first timer to any bar, this bar has such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. As someone who struggled with acceptance in Malaysia, seeing so many people like me hang out together and chat in this room felt like a dream. Everyone is friendly if you know how to politely approach them, especially the kind and courteous owners. The music was great last night and I live for the energy of calm but joy in this bar. The drinks are flowing, the music is thumping and people are laughing, in this room the world is kind. I will definitely come again soon.

It's my second visit and i had great times. It can get a bit overcrowded and if you didnt book a table, you might get pushed out of the way a lot. I wish they make good use of the courtyard space because the indoor space is a bit tight, even when it was moderately crowded. Nice bear crowd when I was there. Will visit again.

Friendly community place that has been around for a while. Place comes with a song request system VIA mobile app, definitely a great way to have fun with your friends while picking your fav songs. Make sure to drop by for a drink with friends and have a chat with the owner :) Hope business is all good!

Really great memorable night (23/1/23), happy crowd, great music and met so many friendly guys, thanks to bar staff for mixing up the Long Island Ice Bucket for me, wow packs a punch x5 shots!!!!! Loved it.

The bar is a lovely spot a little out of the way of the busier areas. It gets quite busy as the night goes on and had a remote dj queue to play your own tracks which I loved. The owners were in the bar and circled around the crowds talking to everyone and they were very friendly, we got talking to an owner who was from Edinburgh which is near to us from Newcastle Upon Tyne so it was nice to chat to someone from close to home. Prices are typical of a Malaysian bar pretty much, more than you’d pay in other SEA countries but nothing that would break the bank. Overall I’d recommend stopping in if you’re after somewhere you can spend a full night.

Bar was filled and the drinks were affordable. As a tourist, I felt completely at home as the locals and staff were extremely friendly (we even went for supper after). Special shout-out to Neil who made sure his clients were comfortable and having fun! Anything I would improve ? If they stayed open later.

Excellent fun bar for the friends of Dorothy. Neil (the owner) is very welcoming and friendly. The crowd I met on the Friday and Saturday nights were very open and welcoming. Highly recommended.

The bar, located in one of Penang's stretch of old, quaint buildings, is where I go to whenever I'm in Penang for the weekend. I've gone both alone and with friends as a group and have never felt out of place. Both the owners are very warm, welcoming and easy to converse with. My go-to drink is their Long Island bucket. Yes, it's a bucket, not a tall glass and it's very affordable. Another thing about the place is this rather brilliant concept of having a virtual jukebox where everyone can vote for their song of choice. I've not seen that anywhere else. It's really quite fun. I have been going to the bar since they opened years ago. That itself says something.

Seventy7 Bar Penang, is now in a great new location with much better space and has a great atmosphere. The staff are friendly and I like the interior with comfortable seating and nice music which is not too loud. The crowd seem very happy and sociable. The beers and wine are very good value for money. You are guaranteed to return to this wonderful bar again and again just like me. They have a Happy Hour even on Friday and Saturday nights when it's pretty busy. Well worth a visit: 10/10 for atmosphere and friendly staff. Thank you for another amazing and fun time!!!

Nice little spot in a quiet end of Georgetown - good atmosphere, very cosy, friendly staff, good selection of drinks and a few doors down from a very good Nyonya restaurant. Late crowd, so a good place for after dinner drinks.

So happy to find this bar, came for a couple of nights both times had different crowds. It gets busy later and there is a happy hour which is cool. Some popular cocktails and a lot of guys drink iced buckets of beer, great for sharing and chatting. Well worth a visit. 5 stars :) New venue nearby at 54 Jalan Chow Thye (April 2019)

We had a great time in Penang and 77 Bar definitely contributed it a lot to the experience. Very chilled atmosphere, friendly staff, and affordable but quality drinks, such a nice place to wind down after busy day sightseeing. Additionally, the owner (Neal) was so welcoming and he’d chat with all of the customers and share his knowledge about the city. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who visits Penang.

Great little bar, worth seeking out. I got there early so no problems getting a table. Friendly staff. Hard to go past the buckets of beer!

A very friendly and welcoming place. Gets busy after 11pm. Co owners were really friendly and were fun to drink and talk to. Drinks were decently priced and quite potent.
