Nothing can beat the classic A&W root beer float. I ordered the chicken coney combo set this round and the curly fries are good too!

Sept 2023- friendly staff and super good food. Very helpful cleaning staff lady. She always quickly cleans a table after customer left. Food is as usual very tasty. Root beer is so good. Recommended. But maybe it could be better if the aircond is strong or has air purifier because the place is compact and felt like less air ventilation.

Been long time since I last visited any A&W outlet. Tried the spicy fried chicken. Taste really good with strong spice flavour. Seating areas mostly high stools and high tables. Overall is above average. Root beer float is great as always.

Managed to fight through against all odds and return to Penang. Has been famous for their Root Beer Float and curly fries. The hot dogs are amazing and cheesy fries is as great as ever. The meal would not complete without nice root beer float. Located at lower ground of the mall. Menu includes variety of burgers, fried chicken and delightful desserts like waffle and ice cream.

The food items here are quite good, something different than the usual fares that you get from other fast food outlets.
The coney dog is quite nice, the sausage tastes really good and matches well with the gravy. The curly fries are a bit salty though. The rootbeer float is really refreshing.
Ample seatings available.
The service at the counter is a bit slow, feels like the place is understaffed.
Located at the lower ground of 1st Avenue.

A&W has reopened in Penang island after disappearing for a few years. Thus, the queue was quite long when i went over but. Service rendered by the staff was good as well.

Wonderful A&W outlet located here at 1st Avenue Mall in the basement floor. Staff were so cheerful and served with big smiles. Service Super fast and efficient and the prices were reasonable- must trys are the fantastic Coney dog and spicy fried chicken. Chicken was so tasty n crisp with added spices. Coney dog yummy with lots of meat gravy n onions topping. Finally finish the meal with a great Root Beer!! Also neat tables/seatings with sufficient space. A nice outlet with really great staff made the meal special. 👍

Super friendly stuff greet you from far, freshly prepare food , super clean kitchen too. Yummy as always for the root beer float. And definitely worth the prices..

Good A&W branch here at 1st Avenue Mall Penang. Good food and Staff friendly service. Except the dine-in place feels a bit disorganized and not spotless clean

Take out for the root beer and the chicken bites. Just for a quick bite.

I must say, the chicken bites are so good compared the McD. I can't wait to try the curly fries, burgers and other orders in the near future.

I find the food so good that I must eat. And then I must eat. Even more!!!
