Stand out dishes from this coffee shop is definitely the apom, Hokkien mee, and char kuay teow!!! 🫶😋 CKT here is the second best one I had in Penang so far, the wokhei taste is super strong and makes it so flavourful!! 🥰☺

Hokkien mee was served with chock full of ingredients, very flavourful with many tiny shrimp bits in it, SO YUMMY!!! 🍜😍 Apom needs no introduction, so soft and fluffy!

Chee cheong fun was just oook, quite tough and nothing to shout about. This entire stretch and street has tons of good fooood, not to be missed! 😆

Hidden Gem, one of the best CKT in Penang. Just look at the delicious plate of awesomeness.
The coffeeshop is very clean, windy, airy and well maintained. Definitely a plus point when visiting with kids.
The price is affordable and the the owner Michael is a very kind, friendly and nice guy!
Recommend anyone craving a good authentic plate of Penang Char Kway Teow, there are other stalls that sell Hokkien Mee which we didnt get the luck to try as they close early so do come early before 1pm maybe, famous one as well.

Finally get to try the Hokkien Mee. Can be said one of the best in Penang and suitable for those who enjoy waking early as they run out fast.

Drinks was normal and there are other stalls such as apam, char kuey teow, Koay teow soup.

Have tried several CKT in Georgetown: some close competition at Chowrasta but so far this one's my favourite! Just the right amount of luscious oiliness and wonderful joyous lardon plus a duck egg for good measure! Friendly boss. The usual ambiance. Teh C kosong RM1.80 (rare to find drinks under RM2.00, especially in Pulau Tikus).

The hokkien mee was good but extremely small portions for a big bowl. Mamak mee goreng was not bad.

An old-school kopitiam with nice interiors, warm lighting and music playing in the background. Try the claypot sweet apom, penang hokkien mee (prawn mee), chee cheong fun. The stall outside selling yau char guai is pretty good too.

Wow! They did a minor interior refurbishment! Expanded internal seating! Better lighting and air blowers! So it’s not so stuffy anymore.

Of course the standout will be the Hokkien Mee stall. Great soup! Come early or they will run out pretty quick. Grab some apom too…

The drinks are only so so, so don’t expect much. The dough fritters (Yau Cha Kuai) stall outside is pretty decent.

This is Pulau Tikus market area, it’s a good galore, but this is one of the main shops, and you will get good food!

If you wanna have the apam manis then come in early. It was raining when we arrived, orders were already stacked up. However we managed to get our fix and it was fluffy, not to mention tasty.
tried the mee rebus, it was tasty. The kopi O here was better than few other places. A real old skool outlet with modern toilets, clean
It's just opposite Pulau tikus police station

Came here for the Char Koay Teow! The Apom was really nice too!!! Though have to wait ( it’s a busy morning ~ 9.30 am) , the wait was worth it!

Recommended by penang friend. The claypot apom manis is cheap and good. Crispy at the sides, soft in the middle with abit of sweetness. Very good as a side dish.

Saw many good reviews on the hokkien mee here. Got myself a bowl and I must say I have to agree. Super tasty broth together with the beehoon and mee. Don't miss this if you are here. Almost 80% of the tables there were having the hokkien mee. Superb!

Love the hu kar sai here. Very thick and frothy, which means good tarik. Same goes for the other coffee and tea drinks here

Revisited on 3 Aug
Still as good and consistent

One of the most underrated char kueh teow stalls I have eaten. The kueh teow stall is not even marked in Google maps.

I love the smoky flavor and the option to select duck eggs. Love their ckt and I always ask for extra spicy. The lard bits are crispy and have just the right amount of umami and saltiness.

This is my favorite kopitoam for local breakfast. The standout dish was the 100 years old claypot apom manis, a must-try delicacy. These apom manis were perfectly crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside, with a simple yet satisfying taste. I couldn't resist having more than five pieces! It's wonderful to see the next generation taking over the legacy. The Hokkien Mee was also delicious, and the Fried Kuey Teow was a pleasant surprise, especially when topped with siham for an extra RM4. Additionally, the stall outside the kopitiam offers a variety of delectable bao, radish cake, and kuih. The radish cake, in particular, stood out as one of the best in town. Overall, this kopitiam offers a memorable breakfast experience with its diverse and mouthwatering offerings.

The best char kway teow I have had in Penang! We originally went there for the apom, but the CKT turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The texture of the kway teow somehow feels like it melts in your mouth (idk how they did this), the flavor and wokhey is on point, and they are generous with the lapcheong and meaty prawns. We have tried some of the most popular CKT stalls in Penang, but they didn’t even come close to this place. We ended up visiting this stall two days in a row just for the CKT.

We came here around 645am for breakfast before heading to penang hill. The apom are to die for. So Soft and fluffy, it melts in your mouth. Their char kuay teow also superb. And hokkien mee (prawn noodle) broth is so good. Forget to take pic coz the food are so attempting.
Came here again 2 days later, tried the mee goreng soong.. another hands down!

Decent place for a quick bite of Char Kuay Teow. Service was fast and CKT was good! Wanted to try the Apom but too bad the uncle took the day off today. No worries, will be back next time around.

This is the spot to go for breakfast and I'll give you the top 4 food to order when you're here:
1. Apom Manis - effing must have. Perfection
2. Hokkien Mee - the best in the island
3. Char Koey Teow - this underrated CKT is a gem
4. Mee goreng - way much better than the stupid Mee Sotong that's overhyped
