Thean Kong Thnuah Temple

temple located right before Penang Hill’s Heritage trail.

quite some stairs to climb before you reach the temple, though the climb itself is pretty. temple is small, with some areas under construction. architecture is detailed and meticulous as usual.

Coming here to pray.. Wishing for Good Luck and Good Health. Very nice scenery.. The Temple still well maintained and beautiful. Love it.

One of the older temple in Penang built in a hill side next to Penang Hill.

My favourite temple of the Jade Emperor. Peaceful. Breezy. Lots of beautiful idols to appreciate.

Nice lil' Temple. You have to go up.some stairs so you should be able to walk.
Was empty and very quiet over there. Good view around the area.
I would go there again.

If you want to know about this Great,Auspicious temple, speak to Ah Chor n Ah Ma. (translate from Hokkien to english : is great grandmothers n grandmothers). You not only get to know of this tenple but the significant to all Chinese especially Hokkiens community. My apologies cause I am Banana base 😊😂. But if you can read Chinese characters, my hat off to you. Pls share I love to know more. From my knowledge, the nine day of Chinese Lunar calender ( Chinese New Year) the busiest time at the temple. Whole of Penang Island celebrate "Pai Thneh Kong" by the Chinese especially the Hokkiens. Today other dialects Chinese join in prayers for Peace, Prosperity n Harmony. Like to visit this great nite, come with goggles to prevent tears streaming down due to such big number of joss stick. A fan to cool you down, n a wet small towel over yr nose from time to time. Torture huh! NOooo., if you are pious or hv the believe, you can overcome the situation. The Highest in Heaven : Jade Emperor. Some pray for loan n come to return that favour. Or some seek medical assistance, also come to repay theie gratitude. If you cant stand the heat from joss sticks, come in morning. You can breathe more easily. Another place celebrating "Pai Thneh Kong" in Grandeur is around Chew Jetty area. Dont leave yr cameras at home. My only advice cos I dont hv photos to post. Sorry dear friends..
