A Buddhist monastery run by a group of Buddhist nuns located adjacent to the road leading to the Penang hill station in Air Itam Penang. Here the locals called the temple Biao Hiong Lim in Hokkien dialect. The main praying hall housed Lord Buddha and several deities. A couple of other buildings and the nuns living quarters plus the columbarium filled the compound. Overall this place is very clean and tidy, a good job done by the nuns in running a decently nice place of worship. The temple is shape and built according to Chinese cultural architecture with dragons and pagoda design structure. Not too far from the praying hall there's a place close to my heart, the remains of my parents are placed inside this columbarium. On a daily basis this place is keep nice and clean except during festive season like Cheng Beng, when there are lots of activities inside the dorm things can get pretty messy. The left over by visitors can be an eye-saw. My assessment on a general scale, I am giving it a good rating based on the overall quality of hygiene and good governance they practices. If you wanted some peace and a quiet surrounding to strengthen your inner peace, you shouldn't miss out this place, with a windy and soothing atmosphere will surely calm your inner peace. Never miss this place whenever I m back here, visiting my parents. Sadhu sadhu sadhu.

Its been our family temple for many generations and it gotten better time with more greeneries. Havent the chance to meet the new abbot as we hv not been back for a while since the last abbot. Always a calm aura about it. However, the place isnt entirely wheelchair friendly. Its clean and bright with amenities. We love that it hasnt become another tourist spot because it really isnt but a respectable place for prayers and ancestories. So grateful to the sanghas and the volunteers with the relentless upkeeps.

One of the most beautiful and well-maintained Mahayana Buddhist temples in Penang island. I remember coming here when I was still in school roughly 15 years ago and returning now, everything still looks pristine. I’d argue that the temple looks even more impressive now.

Very humble and traditional Buddhist temple and columbarium in the shadow of Guan Yin, Goddess of Mercy (large statue up the hill under a columned dome). Early April this place gets very busy due to chengmang celebrations. If you are a tourist, this is a historic site to see.

Occasionally visit the temple for prayers. When you are here will feel peace and calm. Quite limited parking space during festive season, okay with normal days. Lighting up around CNY.

A famous Buddhist temple. Crowded during March & April during which Chinese pray to their ancestors (Cheng Meng). They provide compartments for storing urns containing ashes of the deceased.
