The best food in George Town, we ate here 3 nights out of 4 (they were closed one night). Good Asian and western food. Very friendly service and a lovely atmosphere

Came here for lunch to try out their sang mee. Ordered the braised sang mee and egg gravy sang mee. We also ordered black pepper chicken chop and deep fried prawn dim sum. Prawn dim sum was amazing. Braised sang mee gravy was rich with savouriness. The prawns were sizeable portion as well. Black pepper chicken chop gravy has a distinctive taste than the generic black pepper gravy. Chicken was tender as well. The egg gravy sang mee was thick and flavourful. We love the umaminess in the dishes.

The place was clean and comfortable with air-conditioning, although in some areas the lighting is a bit dimmed.

Currently visiting Pulau Pinang for our annual family trip and decided to dine-in at Food Dynasty after reading the review made by Khoon Yu Tan. The restaurant being Halal Certified was also a huge plus. After having a taste of all the dishes that we ordered, I can confidently say that this place served the best dishes I've tried in Penang and at a very reasonable price as well! The Seafood Fried Rice captured the very essence of what I consider to be a true fried rice dish and left me quite full after I finished while tasting almost all of the food we ordered. But then came the Deep Fried Yam Dumpling and the Pan Fried Radish Cake which left both me and my family craving for more despite already being full. The food served here definitely felt like it was made with love and the owner was very pleasant, providing excellent service with a smile throughout our dining experience. 110% would definitely recommend others to dine here if they are ever in the area. So good that both me and my brother would leave a positive review. Passing over to my brother. :D

Being a Chinese Muslim, i'm always looking out for halal-certified authentic Chinese food. Food Dynasty serves delicious freshly made dim sum and it's really good as compared to other restaurants that serve frozen dim sum.

Spacious due to not many tables setup. Friendly staff. The fried foods got a bit of an oil smell & were slightly oily, but the taste was good. The seafood fried rice was normal. The steam chicken char siu rice rolls is good, but if the rice roll can be thinner then it'll be better.

Definitely a hidden gem. I really recommend this restaurant in Penang if you want to try good dimsums. The recommended foods are top notch!

The chicken bapao tasted so good that we ordered twice! It was so delicate and succulent in our mouths.

The fried yam dumpling was definitely delicious! You can taste the crunchy texture on the outside and the melting sauce on the inside. The fusion of these two components made it marvellous!

Yangzhou fried rice is definitely underrated -- it was the best Yangzhou fried rice I've ever eaten. The wok hey seemed to evaporate in our mouths. I'm lost for words lol

The flying egg gravy noodle is aesthetic, instagrammable, and tasted good.

Not to mention that we also ordered siomay, har kau, and others.

Good food and environment. The staff are very friendly. The dim sum has a lot of varieties and each has its own filling and wrapping skin. The place size is average. The food is good. I highly recommend this restaurant for a halal chinese food taste and the authenticity of its food

Food Dynasty is the true definition of a hidden gem. Visit all the nasi kandar and pasembor you want, but if you haven't tried Food Dynasty, then my friend, you haven't tasted among the best of what Penang has to offer. And yes, they're HALAL certified.

I never thought from the simple menu and quaint atmosphere that I would be having the most euphoric food experience of my recent life. Prices were almost TOO cheap, staff were amazingly full of passion and smiles, but most importantly the food was out-of-this-world amazing.

The noodles and rice tasted comforting and familiar, yet the flavours were more pronounced and more complex. The Yam Balls and Radish Cakes were as soft and melt-in-the-mouth in the inside as it was light and crispy on the outside. The fried rice is what every fried rice in the country wishes it could be. Flavourful, glistening, and with a slight smokiness (what I presumed to be from cooking in a Wok, but I could be wrong). The presentation of it all was just as simple as it was stunning.

Heck, it was so good, we had it again the very next day.

I could go on, but nothing I say can bring it justice. If you enjoy chinese food, even if you don't typically go for the Halal versions, but ESPECIALLY if you're looking for a Halal one, please go and try for yourself. You WILL not regret it. Hope you enjoy it just as my entire family did (and my wife is a very, very picky eater).

P/S: Did I mention they have a Chinese Cuisine Master Chef cert?

Was looking for halal dimsum, so decided to give this one a try. The dim sum was very good, soft, and full of flavour. Definitely better than dolly dim sum. Recommended!

The food here was quite good. Their explanation for each food was very impressive that we end up ordering more than we should 🤣.

The taro/yam fried dumpling tasted savoury (chicken curry filling), I love it, but my friend not so much.

Their song option for the shop was quite unique. All song was from disney movie, very cute. And yes the food are very halal.

Lovely family run restaurant with amazing dim sum. Highly recommended for taste that is perfect without any additional sauce. Also enjoyed the Japanese fried rice. Kids had the pasta with meat balls that they enjoyed. Reasonable and fair price.

I am a foodie who is open to trying just about every kind of food. I grew up in Penang, having noshed the local fare there. I've also traveled to 25+ countries on four continents, having eaten my way through them, quite literally.

During my short four-day trip to Penang recently, I gave Food Dynasty on Argyll Road a try. Gosh am I lost for words with each morsel of Food Dynasty's fried taro/yam puff, chicken chop, Portuguese egg tart, 'loh mai kai' (a dark savory sticky rice with chicken & mushroom), and more (see pics)!

So much so that I went back again to try Food Dynasty's other menu items during the same short trip.

Both times the wide variety savored blew my mind. The pics I've attached here don't do justice to Food Dynasty. Their red bean balls (called 'onde-onde tausa' in Indonesia), Hong Kong-style 'chee cheong fun', 'har kau', etc. were all mouthwatering. A must-try is their fried taro/yam puff!

Equally incredible were their noodle dishes and Western food. It's hard to explain here, so perhaps if you are in Penang now or in the future, give Food Dynasty a try. You may feast faster and more than you can chew 😉 Note: the cafe's food is halal.

Tbh, halal chinese food restaurants are usually kinda average. But the food here was great! The moment the SangHar Mee first entered my mouth, i already knew. DimSum was impressive too. I was walking to a nasi kandar place when i decided to walk in here instead, and i have to say, no regrets!

Lovely place and their Pao texture is soft and nice. Their dim sum is authentic. Great service too. Unfortunately they ran out of Portuguese tart and lava Pao.

Nice place, clean, and halal certify here.
Many foods are good taste of chinese and feel comfort about halal.
The price are standard for chinese food with halal certificate.
I think i will be here again if arrive at Penang.
