Middle House Penang

Food is amazing, starting from appetizer to main course to dessert. The service and atmosphere was great too. The owner was very kind. We went there with our 8 month old with us, and he kindly catered the food to her needs. Oh, and they have the best Tiramisu with crunchy almonds!

Had a delightful experience at Middle House in Penang. The warm and homey atmosphere, coupled with the owner's sweet hospitality, made it a memorable dining affair. I indulged in the mushroom soup, porkchop, and tiramisu, and each dish was a delight for my taste buds. The tiramisu, in particular, could rival those I've tasted in Italy. Highly recommend this place for both locals and foreigners – a true culinary gem!

Got this recommended from a friend, and never regretted coming here. Pork chop and tiramisu was amazing. Char-grilled chicken chop and soups were nice too. The boss couple was really friendly and hosted a great birthday for me yesterday (totally enjoyed it). Never have I experienced such an impressive service in a long time. If you're looking to have a personal event (i.e. birthdays, dates, anniversary), this is one hell of a gem to go to savour and celebrate in. The boss couple will not disappoint you on your visit here.

I had the Middle House Signature Pork Chop with Black Pepper Sauce, applesauce, and potatoes/veggies. Washed it down with some Tiger Beer.

The pork chop was tender and paired with the black pepper sauce was quite tasty. The salad and veggie/potato mix were great compliments.

When I think of applesauce, I think of the stuff my mom used to shove down my throat as a kid, so I was a little apprehensive to try it. I’m glad I did! It paired great with the chop and sides, and definitely changed my mind on applesauce!

Great service all the way around. Nice cozy restaurant that had Christmas decor set up during my visit. I felt so unbelievably welcomed there!

I was lucky to come in on a slower night and was able to talk to the (presumed) owner about some local places to visit and local food to try!

I’ll have to come back and try the tiramisu. I think I’ve ate my own weight in food today, and just didn’t have the room for it. The neighboring table ordered it and it looked amazing.

went in solo today. boss was welcoming, had a nice simple chat, since i’m alone, recommended pork chop and i just roll with it. seems like a nice place to have a little alcohol but had to reject since still day time(gotta work after). had my meal with good feel and right musical atmosphere. would return with friends and family next time.

As a singaporean, i Went there two times on back to back days for dinner during my trip to penang. Totally worth it! Chef Andrew was the boss himself and the food he prepared was excellent! Definitely recommend the pork chop with black pepper sauce and salmon. 1st night with family and 2nd night with friends(7 pax) the boss also let us sit at the VIP room on the second floor as there were no seats on the 1st floor. All of my family and friends enjoyed it so much. Reasonably priced for 7pax considering that we ordered drinks(2 glasses of wine included. plus each pax ordered a main dish Sad that we didn’t order the tiramisu (recommend by others) as we were too full. Best meal yet during the trip. better than all those oilier food from food streets.
Honest Reviews abt the food:

1)Pork chop
Super juicy and the fatty part was everything. Succulent meat and Chef Andrew gave us such a thick slab of pork. Perfectly paired with the buttered potatoes. Super delicious that we gobbled it up.

2) Salmon
Salmon was super fatty and juicy as well. Also came with buttered potatoes which was delicious. Although it was not paired with teriyaki sauce, but the garlic butter saute sauce was actually pretty fire! Super savoury and herby There were also herbs on top of the salmon and was so good with the salmon in a bite. Super delicious as well!

Only thing to improve: Quite a long waiting time for food as Chef Andrew is running a one man show. Would suggest for Chef Andrew to provide complimentary butter rolls for those diners who are hungry.

Overall, the food was excellent and the service was excellent as well!

had a wonderful 82 birthday celebration there. delicious food. nice atmostphere. friendly boss. karaoke with family and middlehouse boss. The whole family had a great time. must try their pork chop, onde2 cake. there parking space in front of the shop or opposite the road or beside the school nearby. remember to make table reservations.

Great atmosphere, good vibes, amazing food!!! We travel a lot, we are Hungarians live in France, Lyon which is the gastronomic capital of France… believe us, Middle House Penang meets the highest standards! After the first night we booked immediately dinner reservation for our next day :) We are so grateful for this experience! Andrew, Susan! We ordered Spaghetti Tom Yum, Cabonara Gambas, Pork Chop, Tiramisu and Penang Kopi-O. All tastes yummy! The boss very friendly.. 😊 Will definitely come back again and recommended all to come.

Stumbled upon this place purely from the high reviews to have our late lunch/dinner only to have the best experience. Food is superb and gives you the feeling of visiting a relative and getting homemade dishes made from love at reasonable prices.

If you've the chance to have a chat with Andrew, please do as not only is he the best host but has the best insight to life. Andrew if you're reading this thank you for the hospitality and kindness for marking a great end to our short trip. We will be back! Penang is lucky to have a demigod like you around 😉

The food is nice, laoban very nice also. Quite a chill place to enjoy dinner. The people there are very friendly and interesting, always finding ways to communicate with the customers. Loved it

Excellent food,excellet ambience and excellent host. Andrew done a great job. From food to deco, it was more than perfect to celebrate birthday there. Cosy and feels like your are dining at home.

Visited the restaurant again but today is to celebrate mum’s birthday! Love the vibe, jazz music played and a very warm welcome by the lovely members of the restaurant, most importantly is the foods served! They were all yummy! Will definitely drop by again!

Best tiramisu ever! My daughter wiped it clean. Very juicy and tender pork. Salmon is very nicely done, crisp salmon skin. Fantastic spaghetti. I wish we had a bigger tummy to sample their soup.
