Prego - The Westin Desaru Coast Resort

Food was delicious & portion was quite large.
Food preparation takes time and some items like gnocchi were sold out.
Birthday surprise was great with staff singing, playing the guitar & other instruments + mini cake

We were 3 for days in Desaru and all three days we ate at Prego. Tasty food, from appetizers till desserts. We loved beef carpaccio, mushroom soup; osso busco was awesome..and tiramisu is top as well.

Nice ambience. Attentive service. Food was top notch and portions were generous. One pizza and sharing main was more than enough for 2 pax. Highly recommended for a cozy night out. Kudos to Adlina. Dabin and Keka for exceptional service.

Beef Carpaccio was outstanding melt in your mouth savoury appetiser paired with Mushroom soup and minestrone.

Ordered Aperol spritz was on the menu but wasn't available.

Ravioli was a bit thick, bit too much of flour.
Ragu was spot on that comes together with it.
Gnochi wasn't bad either, the truffle was filled with earthy flavour.

Comp Tiramisu was given by the chef.
Mascarpone straight on your palate.

The entire dinner was amazing with a great service.

Air condition was a bit hot though, was sweating the entire dinner.

This restaurant is a very cozy place to dine. The ambience is very calming. Staff were very helpful and very responsive. I ordered the mushroom soup as appetizer. The mushroom soup was very salty but when I pointed it out to the waiter he immediately offered another remake of the mushroom soup, which was significantly less salty. My main was the mushroom risotto and I also ordered a lamb shank for sharing. The lamb was very tender and soft. The rissoto had a very strong mushroom and truffle taste. It is best to dine here with family or friends to try the different dishes they offer.

Not sure on why others have low reviews of it. Had our dinner yesterday. The service staffs are very fluent in English and friendly. Ordered Bruschetta, Pumpkin Soup, Mushroom Soup, Pizza and gnocchi. All was excellent, just maybe gnocchi was abit gelak after a while. The crew gave a complimentary ice cream sandwich dessert as we were celebrating birthday. Overall very good experience at the place

Lovely spot for a delicious dinner in the Westin Desaru. Everything about our experience here was amazing. It as spacious, great atmosphere and excellent service (we loved our waiter, Shah). Overall, all the dishes were great. The standouts were the salt baked seabass and the lamb shanks. Highly recommended and looking forward enjoying their alfresco garden next time.

Very nice spaghetti bolognese with angel hair for kids, mixed seafood with cabonara is yummy, really love the mushroom soup with truffle, yumzz. Portobello mushroom is heavy with cheese, however balsamic has lighten it. The tiramisu is almost perfect, just missing the all important liqueur although I'm told it's very mild. Be prepare to pay, after all its a restaurant in Westin, 5 star.

I came here for dinner despite not being a hotel guest in Westin.

Truthfully, there was nothing much to rant about. Their service from concierge to restaurant entrance to dining area was top notch. We were served with much care and attention by the waiters and waitresses. I haven’t felt that in any other hotels or restaurants yet.

Food was equally as awesome as their service. If you come in groups of 3 and above, Prego pizza is a must! Salt-crusted seabass was smooth and the best part, totally boneless.

Suitable for fine dining. Italian restaurant. From the service to the quality and taste of the food, all was excellent. Also a good selection of wine. Make reservations early to avoid disappointment, as they are always full. They now have 2 sessions for dinner, 1830 and 2100. Tables are spaced out comfortably in this covid times.

Very good place for an evening dinner. Almost everything was well prepared. I ordered 2 carbonara one was perfect the other was under cook. Captain came over to offer a change. Was already too full for that. Seafood spagetthi and Steak was very good as well.

I came here for dinner yesterday and the staffs were very attentive and friendly especially one of the staff named shah. The food's superb, ambience was just right. Would definitely come here for a meal again in the future. Very recommended to try out for some fine dining.

Went there for a family dinner. Friendly staffs and waiters. Very helpful in handling kids on the table too. We got free icecream for dinner. The food was really good. Not too pricey for a hotel restaurant. My kids enjoy their kids meal and the sweet potato fries. Their ravioli is tasty. Their main course chicken dish was delicious. Didnt get to order their dessert though.

We had an amazing experience dining in here. Food was slightly on the pricey side however with the quality of food you would expect something like that.

We were well looked after by a 5-star waiter named Sha (hopefully I spelled it right) and the service by the rest of the staff was above average overall.

Every dishes was good except the Carbonara pasta was too salty for us (it was explained by one of the staff that it was due to the pure parmesan cheese and authentic Italian flavours so we were not sure if it was just us being not used to Italian flavour)

Excellent birthday dinner experience here. The crew members are lovely. Free cake and Italian bread basket. Price is affordable, food is delicious. Perfect for family, friends, and dates.

Had our lunch, dinner and late night coffee at this resto during the Ironman event. Food is exceptional prepared and taste great. Serving is huge and for sharing. Servers are very polite however may need more training. Ayul, acting supervisor is the only one person they looked up to, the only person who can operate the coffee machine and make the other drinks. He directs people on what to do and what needs to be done.

Authentic Italian food. +-RM95++ for a whole fish, not unreasonable. One of the male service staff who helped deboned the fish didn’t wear a hair net or hat, Understand that he’s not from the kitchen, but would be good if he was wearing some hair net or hat while doing the deboning, for hygiene reason. Other than that, very attentive staff, nice ambiance, and overall good food. Can request for buggy transfer FOC from Hard Rock Hotel to The Westin.

Wonderful Experience in Prego, Westin Desaru.

The service were great. I had branzino (salt seabass) and margarita pizza. Recommended to try the branzino, the taste was sooo yummmyyhhhhh! The staffs are friendly and special thanks to them for making my birthday feels more special.
