Nelayan Seafood By The Coast

Very satisfied with the food and value for money! There was 9 pax of us we had so much food and we spent less than rm1000. Comparing to the amount of food we ordered, it was very worthy.

The food was very tasty, seafood was fresher compared to the other places we went. Hong Kong steamed grouper, steam crabs, lala clams and etc were all amazing! Even the children enjoyed it.

The food is delicious and their rating don’t justified! I was kinda sceptical as rating is 3.9 when decided to give them a chance since it’s nearest to where we stay (hard rock) they even cool w me following them to see the weight of lobster n crab. The Australia lobster is superb.

Friendly staffs and prompt service. Order taken with accuracy and meals served within 10 mins as the restaurant wasn't that busy yet.

The yang chow fried rice is a must try, nicely fried down to every grain. Flavourful and tasty.. Accompanying it were :

1. Bean sprouted fried with salted fish : despite being fried with salted fish, it was not overly seasoned till the extend that the dish becomes salty. Very well balanced level of savouriness. Bean sprouted are fried and the salted fish is in chonky bite size.

2. Sambal squid : The sambal is nice and fragrant, not forgetting spicy. Not too oily and the squid is fresh. Texture is just right for those with teeth. 😂😂

3. Corn soup with crab meat. Succulent and tasty soup that is more of a chowder. It feels like as if I was consuming sharks fin soup but it's not. Very generous with the amount of crab stick meat..

4. Ordered the prawns which comes in three serving sizes S (8 pcs), M (12 pcs), and L (16 pcs). There are also multiple ways to choose from, for how you want your prawns to be cooked. Chose the salted egg choice and it was so creamy and thick.

One thing though, as it is an open concept restaurant, do expect some flies..

Delicious food. Not cheap, not expensive. Got a nice beach view. Staf here so helpful & friendly. Just do something with the flies 🥹 Everything else is ok!

Big portion for two pax 😂 maybe we ordered too much. Nice experience having dinner at the beach. Food is okay with good service from the waiter. Menu ordered : fried rice with xo sauce, fried chicken with mongolian sauce, hot & sour szechuan soup, fu yong omelette, tie guan yin tea. Oyster already finished although it’s only 8pm plus 🤣

POWER SIA! Glad that I chose this restaurant when we were at desaru for holiday. The rating should been more come on! Everything we ordered exceeds expectations. There’s open seating and also aircon if you wish more privacy and no insects flying. Credit to the kitchen staff for the delicious meal.

The food is very tasty and delicious. A variety of seafood can be chosen. Very satisfying and the best restaurant.

Restaurant faces the beach which is just 30m away. We had excellent steamed sea bass, steamed prawn, seafood tofu & softshell crab. Food’s very good quality and prices are quite reasonable.

The food is so so good! We had the Nyonya Style Fish and the Talapia bakar and it was just so delicious (make sure to order these!) . Arun & Sandeep was also so helpful. Great option for big group and pricing is also affordable!

Food was great! so was worth the wait at dinner time. unfortunately for us they ran out of local lobsters so we had to go for the Australian ones which were a bit more pricey but they were huge! The kids loved the simpler dishes like the fried rice, har cheong gai, and stir fried brocoli! Great experience overall!

This was my 2nd time trying Nelayan. Usually, you tend to always favor the 1st experience but that was not the case here. I actually liked this experience even better. It was a perfect post golf meal. Everything was solid and the outstanding ones were the lobster and tiger grouper. The surprise of the meal was the fried chicken mid-joints… absolutely delish. I’m looking forward to be back to Desaru. It’s a must go 👍👍👍👍👍

The food is really good. First night we had amazing tilapia fish with nyonya sauce that's so flavourful with the perfect balance. Unfortunately ikan bakar stall was closed due to the heavy rain so we came back the next day. The ikan bakar is one of the best we've had...the sambal had us addicted. Shoutout to Sandeep and Arun for their amazing service and friendliness.

Awesome place to have seafood. Location along Desaru coast. Quite convenient if you are at the resorts. Very short travel to Nelayan. Fresh and good quality food. Regret not ordering more. Salted Egg crab is a must try.

If you are in desaru, you should really go to this restaurant. Came in a group of eight. The food in general is awesome. Spicy BBQ stingray is a must have, the chilli they used is really delicious. The lobsters are very fresh and we ordered the local lobsters, the broth is yummy.
The fried rice may look typical, but I must say it's one of the best fried rice around.

We tried Australian lobster, weighed more than 1KG. The lobster has a lot of meat, even the lobster head also make one person full. After finished the lobster, we stuffed already. Hard for us to finish the rest. The chilly crab and Kampong style fry rice are also nice, but the Sotong and LaLa are a bit dry to chew. So far this is best seafood restaurant we found in Desaru. Worth to try again.

The food here was amazing. I really enjoyed every single dish. However, there's alot of flies since we are near to the sea. So do get prepared for that.

A bit skeptical when first decided to have dinner here - was looking at closest seafood place to Hard Rock - how wrong sometimes review scores can be. Turns out to be an excellent seafood restaurant! Food quality was good, we literally gobbled the food without waiting to take photos! If not wrong, this is a halal eatery, so for them to produce such tasty dishes, they deserve 5-stars rating. Price was also very reasonable. Great view of the sea, the restaurant was just by the beach, you can hear waves thundering in when eating... what a pleasure. Service was good too.

Not too sure why some poor ratings given, which i think is not fair for this restaurant. Will definitely come again, this time to also take pictures of the food served!

The open air environment is really relaxing, having your dinner with ocean breeze and crashing waves.

The food is all tasty with excellent services. Food served really fast (less than 20mins). The watermelon juice is a must to order. Definitely we will come again.

Love the seafood spread here! 9 of us came and got the Set A (for 5-6 pax) and the food was definitely more than enough.

Ambience was great and service was good.

Plus point is it’s just a 5-min drive away from our accommodation at Hard Rock Hotel and other nearby resorts.

Do call them to book in advance though.

We came in without any reservations but the staff were willing to accommodate us! It was very crowded but food was still served in less than the 1 hour they initially gave us.

Food was great, recommend getting large sizes if you're dining with your family!

It is also located right on the beach, so you can take a nice stroll after your meal.

Highly recommend!
