Desaru Seafood Corner

We came here for dinner on a long weekend, and the place is packed with tourists.

They provide free shuttle service to and from the hotel, which is very convenient for us to go to the restaurant.

The seafood is fresh and tasty, especially the HK style steam Grouper, Salted Egg Squid and Salt & Pepper Prawn.

All the seafood dishes are reasonably priced, but we do feel it’s on the high side as the patrons are mostly tourists.

First visit to the restaurant and it was such a pleasant experience! The staff were all friendly and most importantly the food portion were all so huge! We were a group of 4 and the serving was like for 6! Please come with hungry tummies and enjoy the fresh seafood with all your heart :) the staff at the cashier was also so friendly and funny! Thank you so much for this pleasant experience and we will return again when we next visit Desaru!

The best seafood restaurant with good quality produce and mastery in cooking we have had in Desaru.

Thanks to Google reviews I am glad to add mine to give this place the focus it needed.

1. This place is clean, hygienic and there are no flies compared to the other seafood places (and most of the resort restaurants we been to - Hard Rock and Westin)

2. The live seafood tanks are clean and well presented. The seafood quality is fresh, not fishy, mushy.

3. Friendly staff through the line from order taking to serving to cashier. It was such a delight.

Let’s dive into the food.

Fresh Oysters from Canada are fat and juicy. No need for the sauces to be honest - you can have it on its own.

The fish was a frozen one. (They were so honest) we can’t finish 1.5kg of Soon Hock so we opted for a smaller one which turned out just as good in garlic, ginger Cantonese style.

Furong Omelette was runny and tasty with red onions, mushrooms and it’s every child’s delight.

We also had 3 local lobsters that’s served steamed. It fresh and succulent, juicy and bouncy! The meat was so tender and sweet.

Our La La soup we asked for turned out to be light and flavourful with the right amount of stock. But I must say this is a different breed of La La - it’s supersized!

We didn’t fancy the Venison. Couldn’t quite pin down the taste as it alternate between smokiness and sweetness.

But on the whole, if you are here for a visit, I highly recommend this place for a hearty family dinner.

We also picked up some nice fish crackers.

RM800++ spent in total.

Delicious and fresh seafood, with live lobsters and crabs in tanks out front. The food was delicious and the chilli crab really succulent and the mantou bigger than those in Singapore. We had a whole snapper, chilli crab, seafood fried rice and seafood fried beehoon. They really don't skimp on the seafood and both the rice and noodles had plenty of seafood in it. Their kailan was super fresh and deliciously stir fried with garlic.

Good service. Nice food. Price a bit high but no surprise. Recommended.

Great place for seafood. Reasonable price and great taste. Provides free shuttle service between Desaru hotels and restaurants. Can go to Secret Recipe or Chendol next door for desserts.

Fast service and fresh seafood bursting with freshness. It was very nice and I didn't think it was too expensive. The lala curry leaves was very nice and I enjoyed the gong gong too. Parking is easy and the restaurant is air conditioned.

It's about 15mins drive from desaru beach to this restaurant.. supper yummy, good environment and friendly staffs.. all in I would say you will never regret going here to have meals.. the seafood is so fresh.. potion is big and price is reasonable. Highly recommended ⛺

Superb service. 4 of us, we wanna order 2 crabs each 600g to 700g, but the supervisor said there is a 1kg odd bigger one. We wanted prawns and he recommend the medium portion as we had other dishes so might not be able to finish. This is the 2nd time I was here, the last time was 24th June 2023 and they did not disappoint me.

The price is very reasonable. Indoor aircon and outdoor available.

Delicious zichar with indoor/outdoor seating, though prices are on the higher side. Worth it for the quality and variety of dishes.

Good atmosphere, parking was ample and convenient.
Ordered the Typhoon lobster, ginger onion fish slices Kang long sambal and hot plate tou fu.
All dishes were tasty. Seasoning was just nice not too salty.

Stumbled upon this place by coincidence, turn out the food is delicious. Paid Rm400 for two of us. Ordered volcano crab which is very tasty, I can’t stop eating the gravy and lobster crispy rice (not on the menu). Super friendly service too from Dean.

Very nice seafood, lobster is slightly cheaper than the more famous joints. Known for their volcano crab but I have no chance to try it as I went for their lobster bisque with crispy rice. Share a secret, the lobster crispy rice is not on the menu, only for those who know will order ( like from Google maps!) the boss say it takes a long time to cook this dish so they do not sell or recommend it during rush hours. I went for lunch at 2 pm. Had all the attention of the staff, enjoyed good service. 8/6/2023

Essan food is my favorite of the Thai styles. It's far more spicy then your average Thai, it's less sweet, and it is bursting with a blend of flavors if you can taste past the heat.

The raw spicy beef and spicy crab papaya salad are goto's for me usually. This place has really become popular over the years and in some ways it makes me sad to see it loose that small food shop feel.

Really enjoyed the chilli crab - very fresh and a slightly different style to Singapore, but excellent crab and mantou. The side dishes are quite large even for small. For 2 people I had a small crab and with dishes about $50 SGD each which is not the cheapest but very good quality. Very happy with the meal.

The chinese uncle is very friendly, he helped us with the order.
First time trying empurau. Not bad for RM380 per fish.

Surprisingly good - went with low expectations as reviews have been mixed. Staff are up front about what is fresh and what is live. Had 1.2kg pepper crab (live), HK style sea bass (fresh), cereal prawns (fresh), kai Lan with garlic, excellent vegetable fried rice, two big bottles of Tiger Beer and various soft drinks (4 of us) for SGD 125 which we felt was excellent value and food was very tasty. Will def go back. Hilariously tiny beer glasses 🤣

If you’re not a fan of MSG specify that when you place your order.

Plenty of parking and nearby Secret Recipe has excellent cakes for dessert.

Reasonably priced, tip top attention by the service staff. They picked us up from our hotel for free and when we arrived, someone even brought an umbrella to shelter us from the rain as we arrived - never seen before service from a corner seafood place. Will definitely come back every time I’m here.

the food was so good, hrga memuaskn. masakan sedap.we’re flying from north of malaysia, first time in johor and this restaurant is out of our expectations!!! sedap. we even try oyster here . fresh!

My family and I had our dinner here during our short weekend trip. The staff were friendly, and the food was served quickly. We ordered a lobster, and the staff recommended the herbal soup and ee mian way of cooking. The food was delicious, and I will highly recommend giving this place a try.
