Hainan Thean Hou Temple 天后宮

Fantastic beautiful temple, dedicated to Mazu which is the patron Saint of Seafarers. Every little detail is a masterpiece of art. Very well maintained temple which is open for the public

Praying aside, the building structure is admirable. The staff is also helpful.

Just one word… Stunning! The front is really impressive with such precise details and beautiful design! What about the inside… you can feel the peaceful mood with trees in the middle of the temple. I strongly recommend this place!!

This is my first visit to this temple and was completely awe with its interior beauty and serenity. I feel an abundance of blessings after paying respect to Goddess Mazu and other deities. This temple at Muntri Street Penang brings us back to yesteryears with its quiet surroundings and rows of old pre-war houses.

Came across this magnificent temple after dinner at nearby foodcourt.
People are friendly, invited me to visit the temple while explained to me their Hainanese culture & Ma Zhu Goddess when they're celebrating mooncake festival.

When u enter the temple, don't forget to look up, there is an Guan Gong altar on top, while incense burner is at the bottom. Quite special from out temple. According to friends that there is a safe at the bottom of the main altar (refer to the photo).

Randomly stumbled across this place on my way home from the blue mansion, and what a delight it was. It's extremely well kept and has beautiful decorations everywhere. Best of all it's free! There's a donation box if you wish to contribute which will obviously help the upkeep of the place. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

Another famous Chinese (Thean Hou) temple in Georgetown, Penang, that is worth a visit. I love dropping by when I'm around--well, not only it's serene, it also has a certain calming, inviting energy. Not necessarily a place of worship, you can go pay a visit to check out its building architecture. But to make your visit well worth your time, do some reading and digging yourself first.
