very crowded.
3 waiting list, i wait for about 15-20 minutes.
the dimsum taste is not bad, the eggtart is good, i like it.
but the order style is so different, maybe some people will not understand, the aunties waiter explain to us. it’s not very hard to understand.
overall still worth it to wait.
and was a good choice for breakfast.

The service at this restaurant is very good, and the food is served quickly. The prices are a bit high, but all kinds of dim sum are very delicious.

Came here last time I was in George Town, and had to visit again! I arrived at 8pm and there were still some great items to choose from, but for those interested in having a wider variety to choose from, I recommend going earlier in the day. Looking forward to going again soon

Come early let's say before 7am and there will be plenty of seats and parking. Dimsum taste is very traditional. Must try dishes would be Har Kao, Loh Mai Gai, Chee Cheong Fun and Fried Prawn Roll. Being a Ipoh mali, personally I would rate it on par with Ipoh, and even better with the nostalgic feel (food is served on a moving trolley which long gone disappeared in Ipoh dim sum restaurants)

Update: Dim sum craving on the last day of the year. Facing the holiday crowds and traffic are a scary thought. Standing in a snaking long line on reaching there a no-no on Sunday morning. So we ordered a Grab delivery. The food came in pretty quickly and each item was well packed and the portion sizes were just right.

Our order - a mix of sew mai and prawn dumplings, spare rib with bean sauce, a mix of fried radish cake and fried taro ball, big pork bun and golden custard bun. All of them were excellent though we relished the radish cake and taro ball the most. The sew mai is a favourite of the family and didn't disappoint. We also enjoy Tai Tong's custard buns always. A still warm bun oozing sweet custard from within. A practical challenge to eat.... but what a joy 😊 😋.

Older review: Has to be one of the best places in town for dim sum. We were lucky to go in early for breakfast and didn't have to wait very long. The queues starting forming soon enough and it got pretty crowded. But that is also the charm of the place. It is buzzing and loud, the service may feel borderline brusque and the restaurant is a bit chaotic and untidy.
But hey, you're there for the dim sum and they are top-notch. That's the magnet that draws the hungry droves in. We loved it. And the taste still lingers 😋.

Very nice dim sum restaurant in Penang. Dim sum served all day, however variety becomes less in evening time. All the dim sums are nice, we didn't order much because we only had two people dine in during the visit.
No aircon in this restaurant, however you don't feel hot during dining.

Old school dim sum, super fast, great food. Definitely recommend if you’re in Chinatown!

My 1st impression was that the food will be mediocre based on the place. I was wrong indeed, the dim sum was tasty and fresh especially prawns dumplings and scallops porridge. I enjoyed every bite of all the dim sum and salted eggs yolk pau was fantastic. Maybe they need to change the method of ordering to scanning or menu type to save the hassle of queuing and bringing our own food. Just a suggestion to keep up with the technology. Prices are reasonable and the washrooms are clean. Will definitely come back again when visiting Penang.

Great place to have dim sum. Love the concept of pushing the food trolley around the restaurant. Great service and the price is reasonable! Better come early as the place is usually crowded and you will have to queue to come in if you’re late

Still one of the best dim sum place in penang. Come here day or night also will be full. Price is reasonable as well. The food ordered from the kitchen serves up pretty quickly too. Dim sum and fried ones are self service. Just bring your card on the table for them to note down what you've taken.

Affordable dimsum place with a huge variety of steamed and fried dimsums. They even have a pushcart for wanton mee and century egg porridge. I especially loved the fried carrot cake here. Come earlier around 7/8am to avoid crowd.

The Tim sum here is really made with love! It tasted like how real Tim sum should be, and not those that is churned out from the same factory! The shop is clean!

Reached before 7am. Parking space convenient. Most staffs are more elderly and speaks hokkien/english. Definitely ask for recommendation from staff at the first station to order dimsum. You won't be disappointed. The tea is not sweet, but fragrant and appetizing. Order Porridge/ Soup / Fried stuffs at different stations or through trolley so don't try to order everything at once at one station because you risk being admonished for being rude or unable to understand the normal operating procedure. The younger staffs are more helpful and friendly though ☺

Best dim sum shop in my personal opinion. Of all the char siew bao I have eaten in Penang, this is the most delicious. Char siew bao is definitely a must try. But try to go early if u wish to eat as it can be crowded with people and u are forced to wait in line and of course the parking might also be a hassle.

Really like the dimsum here. The traditional ambience makes it even more interesting.
Love the taste, steamed to perfection. All ingredients were fresh. Really enjoyed eating here.

Place were crowded by customers. A little bit chaotic when ordering, but maybe that’s the fun part. At least for a tourist like me. However the serving time was quite acceptable.

Price were reasonable.

There’s a crowd on a weekday late morning when we visited but the wait was reasonable. It has the traditional vibe of a Chinese yum chai restaurant. Just be prepared for the heat from all the steaming and crowd.
The taste of the food simply just made up for all its shortcomings! The fundamental taste is right, which many restaurants has lost though the years.
Their staff isn’t rude and very efficient. Get things done quickly.
You will refill the hot water for your tea by yourself. This really solve all the aggravation of trying to get someone for a refill.
Totally recommends this restaurant. Hope to be back there again soon!

Egg tarts were amazing. Had some red crusty prawn balls which was good too. Other staples like siew mai and ha kau were above average. We arrived before 9am and were lucky to score a table.
