It's a small temple on Queen Street (Look for the huge Eu Yan Sang outlet and walk straight until you see Lebuh Queen) but very ceremonial. And the interior is splendidly designed. Definite tourist spot if you're looking to know more about Indian culture in Malaysia.

Temple with great divine vibrations. Definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended.

2023 Thaipusam seem had been recover from post covid with lots of devotee and tourist flooding into Penang island to watch and enjoying the Thaipusam day !

Sri Mahamariamman Temple is the oldest and largest temple in the Little India District. Will be packed with people, filled with music and lights during festival. Normally road closure is common to accommodate the festival so make sure your vehicle is parked on other street (otherwise you'd be stuck until the end of the event/festival)

Extremely beautiful temple and very very well maintained. The Thaipusam Chariot procession infact starts from this temple only before reaching the Waterfall hill temple. Photography not allowed inside the temple. It was renovated in the year 2016. This is the oldest temple in Penang and is in the midst of most happening place called as LITTLE INDIA ☺

Our visit to the Sri Mahamariamman Temple was a memorable experience. At first, we had a bit of trouble finding the statue of Sri Lakshmi, but thanks to the help of a kind Indian lady, we were able to locate it. We felt fortunate to witness the awe-inspiring Sri Mahamariamman Statue as well. The temple's beauty and the warmth of its visitors made our visit truly special. Highly recommended for those seeking a unique cultural and spiritual experience! 🙏🕉

I went on Tamil Month Aadi last Friday, it was really nice goosebump feel when enter in to temple. Lot of foreigners was excited to see the flower showering to Mahamariamman. Covered with devotees and offered good food to people. Really excellent. Om Shakthi.

Amazing Hindu Kovil in Penang. Spiritual place with extreme cultural significance

The oldest Hindu Temple in the George Town World Heritage site, built in 1833. The Temple is abundant with beautiful architecture and colourful structures. Managed to step in and pray for a while. Strong vibration. Do visit and pray to get the blessings of Amma.

Beautiful temple with splendid decorations

Amazing temple and very peaceful and clean. I had great time and Kudos to the people who are keeping the temple extremely clean and the services like Archana are extremely cheap at 1.50 MYR. This temple has lot of history and went through lot of transformation to reach the current state and I am glad to visit Amman temple again. There are lot of sorties like Ganesha, Shiva, kanaka Durga, Bhairava etc ... And the statues on temple pillars are best examples of indian craftsmanship.

This temple is a oldest n few years back. Lots of people go there worship. n it's little India. For Thaipusam they decorate Lord Muruga n do prayers n then only the chariots move n go to waterfall temple. After that coming back on the way to the little India n do prayers n keep in kovil Verdu. Prince Charles from England visit this temple n tourists too.

100 over years old Mariamman Temple in the heart of city. Also in the Little India area. Look very grand from external view. Seen tourist at the entrance as well. Parking is not so good in this part of the city. Good to park some else and takke a walk to here. Good to visit and get Amman's blessings.

After such a long time I've been to this heritage temple. This temple is a very old temple and the inside of the temple is so beautiful. Its an eye catching environment.
