There are mixed opinions about this place. As a tourist, I want to say that I liked it. I've had there hokkien mee, almond milk dessert and some "tapas" a few times. The food was good.
You should know that you can sit at any table, but it may belong to a different food seller. In this case, you need to order something from this seller, e.g. something to drink.

New Lane Street Food Stall offers a diverse array of Penang's local delicacies, including must-tries like Penang char kway teow, lala, 蚝煎 (oyster omelette), ham, various seafood, and refreshing drinks. Great food, long lines in some stalls. Stalls without lines are also delicious!

Make sure to have cash and when you sit down you NEED to order drinks with the waiter that comes to you. Upon delivery of drinks, you pay them.

Small area for streetfood, but a great place to stop and select from the various offerings. You have to order the food yourself, but if you decide to sit, just order a drink and they vendor's will bring to your table. I enjoyed everything we ordered.

Definitely a place to visit for street food and supper. This Char kuey teow is one of the best I have tried! Cook using charcoal hence the long queue but it was worth the wait! and satay is amazing as well they have bbq pork intestines.

My favourite Chee Cheong Fun stall in evening. I love it so much even though the price are slightly higher than others places.

Most underrated place ever. The ckt is a must try, the wait is only about 30mins and i think it definitely beats ah leng ckt at the wokhei taste! Super basic but yummy plate of ckt. Filled with eggs on each plate and you get to choose between chicken egg or duck egg. duck egg will be extra creamy!

We also ordered the prawn omelette (xia jian) which was awesome i really love it! SO yummy and it was only rm20 for medium when there is SO MUCH PRAWNS inside the dish. Extremely worth it if you ask me.

Last but not least the satay which was a very short wait. Do get the pork satay! It was so charred and flavourful, and i only needed to wait about 5 mins for it despite many people ordering.

Very very affordable and yummy food. Underrated. Will come back again when I’m in penang!

Anyway good food is need to wait unless you come earlier.

Crowded but pretty good food! The charcoal Kway Teow is the longest wait there. Plenty of seating.

I wasn't a regular at the New Lane night market food stalls. I ate these during my most recent visit. No doubt it's very popular amongst tourists, with a lot of local fares, and boasting being the third or fourth generation inheritance.

Loh Mee—RM5
The taste was quite bland; something was lacking, perhaps the fried shallot oil.

Almond Milk (Heng Gin)—RM3.50/bowl
I prefer a thicker texture. Unfortunately, the "You Tiao" was not available when I ordered. They pair nicely.

Kuih Ketayap—RM4 for 5 pieces
The skin was flavoured with real pandan juice. I tasted a little bitterness (the leaves were bitter), slightly chewy, and it gave a good bite. The coconut flakes were perhaps fried using brown sugar and reduced the gula melaka aroma that I was anticipating.

Omg, these street food stalls are so busy and so many foods to choose from. I had told my family said we order lots of food and share in this way we could taste all the different dishes .

The stalls also had a great variety of other dishes to choose from, and everything looked and smelled amazing. The prices were very reasonable, making it an affordable option for anyone looking for a tasty meal. The only downside was that the seating was a bit limited, but it didn't detract from the overall experience. I would definitely recommend checking out this street food stall if you're in Penang and looking for a great meal!

Many choices to choose from. The satay stall was good! Tried out the CKT stall too and it was okay for me. Rather disappointed that the pork intestine porridge stall is no longer operating at this location. Be prepared for big crowds and long waiting times during peak hours/festive periods.

These food stalls are the best and crowded one. There are so many kind of foods here and also delicious. You have to try one by one, and can't go here only a time.

Oh gosh, everything here is so bloody good!! Never mind the heat, this is a one-stop-food-centre in Penang! Must try the char kuey teow, oyster omelette (Oh Chien), pork satay and pie tee! Locals might say there are much better hawker centers in Penang but this is the quintessential Penang foodie experience… Yumzz!
