Simple, authentic Malaysian cafe that serves eggs and toast and coffee and tea. I arrived around 8 PM on a Monday morning and there was a long line and we were seated after about 30 minutes. Although there was a line, the staff moved slowly when bringing the bill and wiping down tables, but it was refreshing to live life without rush. The staff speak very little english, but because the menu is so simple, there weren’t any significant language barriers. It’s nestled in an alley, so a very cozy space and you can actually watch the cooking. Fun experience of your in Georgetown!

This was one of the meals I was looking forward to while visiting Penang. We came on a Monday morning and there was a queue when we arrived but it was fast. Soon enough, we were seated and ready to order.

Their Nasi Lemak was really good, one of the few good ones I've tried. The Sambal (Chilli Paste) was fragrant and I really enjoyed it (This is coming from someone who doesn't eat spicy food). The Roti Bakar (Toasts) and eggs were all delicious. Good coffee too.

Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here. Although, the food was pretty pricey compared to your typical Malaysian toasts and coffee. Understandable considering it is a touristy area.

Queue was quite fast. People eat and go. Uncle was nice and service was great. It was raining however with limited seats. I love the traditional way toast is made, the black coffee was great, nasi lemak was awesome. Will recommend to buy the toh soon coffee packs back and make at home.

The long queue definitely worthed it! I recommend you choose the toast bread and coffee. Coffee bread and chocolate bread are delicious!

The place was quite small in a narrow alley. What a vibe!

You have to try this at least once in your lifetime.

First destination on day 2 of my trip. Queue was long, but we got some shades and the meals and drinks were worth it. Price is very reasonable too. That must be why they become so popular!
I suggest you to come early around 8 so you don’t have to wait for too long. You can tag with your friends, don’t need everyone to queue at the same time lah.
Kaya toast is a must, I ordered the coffee one. Their best selling is egg on toast, so you have to try it as well. The main star for me, is the Hor Ka Sai. It is to die for, I even ordered another one for take away. You can thank me later 🤣

Snugged behind Ban Heang store in small alley. Queue waiting time around 20 minutes, you can sit in the Ban Heang seating area, air con. Or can seat in the alley, service are fast and efficient. Nyst try the Milk Coffee and their toast.

The Q starts to snake even before the shop opens. Local told me that eats this growing up when it was managed by the previous generation! The toast is really very well done, crispy outside and soft inside with a tinge of charcoal smell. I wish the kaya was abit more. Kopi c is a must try! Hitting all the right notes, rich, buttery and thick. Will definitely come back again!!!

It's crowded during weekdays too, so if you come during public holidays, I suggest you skip this place. Long queues with at least 30-45 minutes wait. It was my second visit during a business trip on weekdays and both times were crowded. However, I must say the nasi lemak bungkus, toast bread and yin yong drinks are extremely good!

Nice cafe famous in Penang for its breakfast and gets very busy with queues around the street but if you go early it’s not to bad. the queue does go down pretty quick and you will be seated. Service was quick and eggs on toast and coffee were good. I would recommend

Traditional Kopitiam with authentic breakfast fare on offer.

We had the nasi lemak, Kaya toast with soft boiled egg, curry puffs and lime juices.

Great spot for breakfast, recommend getting there early (we arrived at 8) as it was packing out when we left.

I visited 5 years ago and I revisited again last week. Still, Toh Soon is one of my favorite. Now they made variety of bread and I like their coffee toast. Kaya butter toast dipped in seasoned half boiled eggs, my simple happiness.
Nasi Lemak Bungkus is nice. Slightly spicy for those can’t take heat.
As this is tourist spot, take time to get a table. So you are advised to be patience and please leave after you had finished your meal because Toh Soon located in alley and limited tables available.

Second time here, somehow it's better than the first.

Kopi cukup kaw and shiok for the hot weather. Bread also cukup garing.

The coffee is authentic and nice. The bread, charcoal grilled, was yummy. Though there was a queue, we had a table pretty fast. Recommended.

Managed to try this without having to queue. Too bad the nasi lemak bungkus sold out by the time we arrived.

Nice place for traditional breakfast

We arrived at around 9am on Monday morning and there was a pretty long queue (around 10 tables), and it took us slightly more than 30 mins to get it.

Nasi Lamek are wrapped in paper and are placed in a basket on each table for diners to serve themselves. Portion is small but good size for breakfast.

Homemade kaya and peanut butter are soo yummy. Unfortunately they don’t sell peanut butter on its own

On a Friday at 9 am, a line had formed, comprising both locals and tourists (likely more tourists). The wait wasn't extensive, thanks to the efficient table assignment by the staff. Our choice was the EGG ON TOAST 面包 (TB 8), where the toast had an incredible aroma, meticulously grilled over smoldering charcoal.
