Sand & Sandals Desaru Beach Resort and Spa

I booked this hotel for my team. The overall hotel is GORGEOUS! We stayed in a deluxe at the level 2 which gave us an AWESOME view of the swimming pool. Your staff is one of the most professional. Your manager, Muhammad is very courteous who can always make our stay comfort & take feedback about the stay at all times which is most important in the hospitality. We often visit your place. We are happy with kind of service we get all the time. Keep up the good work!!!

Sand and Sandals Resort is a great place to stay around Desaru. We have celebrated an event here and we stayed for a day as well! Hotel was very neet and clean. Hats off to the staff and my special thanks to Mr Muhammad & Mr Koko. The hospitality is unquestionably great! The breakfast buffet was delicious! The restaurant staff are really good. Very nice and friendly. I would hesitate to stay here again! Would highly recommend this place!

The stay was really pleasant. The staff & manager Mohd and also koko at the lobby were really kind and willing to attend my request. Thank you so much. The rooms have been comfortable and immaculate. And SPACIOUS of course!
The only thing that needs improvement, in my opinion, is the quality of the food at the spice restaurant.

Very clean, hygenic and spacious rooms. Most facilities are close by the hotel. Good for leisure or business traveller on budget. Staff is friendly and helpful. Thanks duty manager, Muhammad for recommending this hotel to me.

Wonderful place to stay. I don’t normally stay in resorts but this was perfect. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are quiet despite the fact that if you want to, you can spend time outside the bar beside the swimming pool and the staff – Mr Muhammad, by the way, were exceptional. He really went out of his way to make sure everyone got what they needed, whether it was directions, recommendations, or help with my transportation also. I had a great time meeting everyone and socializing yet when I wanted to, I could get a quiet night’s sleep.

Lovely experience during my recent stay in January 24. Every request we made were attended immediately - faulty safe resolved less than 10 mins from our call. Supervisor who came with their technician overheard our complaints about lack of proper chair and promptly call for a proper chair to be delivered to our room. Room was clean big bathroom with strong water pressure shower . Double sink outside the bathroom yay nice !
Service is excellent probably because it’s low season so please bear with these lovely folks when it’s peaked season.
Breakfast was adequate but some attention needed to keep them warmed up. Lotus restaurant is about 5 -10 mins to walk along the beach serving fresh and delicious seafood .
A few tweaks to make this hotel even better - a bigger amenities tray in the shower. The small one could barely hold 4 sample size bottles of toiletries. Hand towels and towel rack at the wash basin .

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. A few minor points:

- hotel transport service is quite expensive. We heard it is not very easy to get grab so we used the hotel van service to get to the zoo. Driver was half an hour late. During pick up, he was also 10mins late. After which we decided not to use this service as it is somewhat unreliable although we understand that they are understaffed (not enough drivers)
- a very friendly staff offered to help us book taxi. He is usually stationed at the entrance/concierge. Please note that he will ask his friends to drive you (aka non official service). However this staff was extremely nice + he can offer a lower price + his friends were super punctual. He is a very personable character and made my day 😄
- ate most of our meals at spices&herb and teppan. These 2 restaurants were quite good :) although involved a wait. Generally staff quite friendly although they are busy
- our room was huge and had 3 beds (we only had 2 ppl staying). The view from the balcony overlooked the pool
- pool was ok. Jacuzzi is not warm at all and was freezing
- recep staff seemed stressed but still provided overall good service, and allowed late checkout at 1pm
- beach area pretty nice but weather was either too hot or raining so didn't manage to spend much time. Btw it is a 10min walk along the beach to reach the next hotel (lotus)
- Chinese food dim sum was not v fantastic
- breakfast is also not to my liking but it had mainly local food. On the weekend it gets v crowded
- game center was interesting but most games were not working. Pls also note that it costs money. There is a small convenience store inside the game room
- the singing at the pool bar area was... A little bit jarring but thank you for trying your best

We like to go Desaru for short vacation, been Sand and Sandals resort for many times. This resort is value for money, good service and comfortable stay. Dinner at the Japanese restaurant, good service by the chef and waiter Haroon, recommended Teppan chicken, teppan beef and strongly recommended garlic fried rice, definitely will come next time.

Large rooms and pretty clean, nice beach (few rocks to take care if you swim, but manageable), seasport activities, 3 restaurants on site. Could be a bit crowdy for breakfast during high peak weekend. Not enough seats around swimming pool, wake up early if you want a place 😴 and nice employees to help you anytime

Sand and Sandals is a great hotel with heaps of character, excellent staff and massive rooms. If you are looking for a 5 star expensive stay this is probably not for you but if you are happy to have something cheap and chearful with a great pool and bar right on the beach then this is a great option. The "Teppan"(yaki) restaurant also has excellent value meals (especially for steak and seafood). Special shout out to Epy our Teppan chef and Haroon who looked after us and our little baby every day. Will stay again.

I recently dined at Sands and Sandals retaurant and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their Indian food, which surpassed that of Lotus Spice restaurant in desaru. Haroon provided exceptional service throughout the meal, ensuring a delightful dining experience. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring North Indian and other multi-cuisine dishes, making it a fantastic destination for those looking to explore various flavors under one roof. I highly recommend visiting this establishment for a memorable culinary adventure.

This is my 2nd time visiting. The overall comfort and cleanliness of the room are much better than my 1st visit. Service is not bad too.

Every aspect of our stay exceeded our expectations. Except during check in process. A bit slow! Great staff also! Mr Muhammad, keep up the good work. Your presentation regarding the rooms was superb! Helping a lot for us to choose the right one. Most comfortable beds ever. Restaurant makes a lovely breakfast. Would highly recommended for couples mixing work and pleasure!

We booked a superior room and the room is huge. Shower room is big too and we really enjoyed our stay here.

We also booked the candle light dinner by the tree top. The place was nicely decorated with our pictures and the food was great. They accomodated to our dietary restriction too. Special thanks to the F&B Manager, Azan, for making this experience memorable for us.

Highly recommended to spend your time with your loved ones here.

This is my second stay here with my family...the room is spacious...the environment and landscape very beautiful...the pool also very big...kids pool also big...got many sitting place n gazebos at the beach...for those who bring kids,,there are kids playroom as well..overall the place was very clean n tidy...looking forward for my next stay soon...

MUST go Teppan 潮风 Shio Kaze to eat. The foods there is very NICE! Best japanese food i had before. Especially the Salmon.

The top skilled chef named Epy is very friendly, will invite us to sit in front top table to experience him performe, preparing our foods like nothing that we seen before. Even will chat with us, sharing tips and help us take photos. The way he cook the foods is really till whole new level. Must try it out!

Overall the staff there is very friendly, environment is clean and hotel room is within effortable price too with outdoor bathtub. Quick relaxing getaway just one hour drive from jb.

We had a super convenient and relaxing stay, some part of the private beach kinda rocky but still adequately nice for chilling. Food was okay. Family and kid friendly resort. Warm and excellent services from the staff.

The interior design esp the lobby area is a bit gloomy and weary tho’, maybe it need some cheering up

Had a great 3 night stay while on a business trip. Attentive and friendly staff. Room is spacious, bit old but well maintained. Bar by the pool and beach has a wide selection of liquor but beer selection could improve. Breakfast is average. Had dinner once in the restaurant and it was delicious thanks to Chef Sunny
