Penang's Hokkien Mee always my favourite, this is one of the best. Today, I decided to break my routine and try the Char Koay Teow, and it did not disappoint. However, if you're craving Hokkien Mee, make sure to arrive before 9:30 am, as these top spots tend to sell out fast. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until tomorrow for another chance to savor this local favorite. Tips: if the coffee shop is full, try to ask for table sharing.

Home to the famous Super Hokkien Mee, best in Penang, and has a branch of the Kampong Malabar Lor Bak, this coffee shop has good ventilation and ample parking lots around in the morning.

If you are aiming to get the Hokkien Mee, be there before 800am and be prepared to wait for 45min or longer before meal is delivered.

We would rate it one of the best local experience venue for breakfast in Georgetown. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Local coffee shop. Be patient there as there are many old folks working there.

Arrive early to try one of the best Hokkien Mee on the island. Usually sold out after 9am

One Corner Cafe at 12 Basawah Road, Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia. Love it. The best Hokkien Mee and Ching Cheong Fun, Wanton Mee, Char Koay Teow, Curry Mee, Nyonya Kueh and other hawker fare and the best coffee shop : clean, spacious with marble tables spaced for comfort, great coffee and other beverages. This is probably one of the best-run coffee shops with hawker food in Georgetown, Penang. And dear readers, avoid Swee Kong Coffeeshop, in Pulau Tikus, Penang. My friend and I had the worst experience. Do check out my review on it.

The hokkien Mee is so flavourful. The rojak is very crispy. The laksa is different from Penang Chinese laksa but it's also really good. The loh Mee is also nice but I love the hokkien Mee the most.

Typical Penang Kopi Tiam (“Cafe”). You have lots of choices there, from the fame Supper Hokkien Mee, to Lok Bak, Loh Mee, Chee Cheong Fun etc. Once you settle down, you can wave to the drinks staff folks or they will come over shortly.

Tables: Reach about 9:20am and the tables cleared fast.

Supper Hokkien Mee: 5⭐. Go to the lady with pen and writing pad. She will tell you the waiting time is long and expect around 1 hour. Do let her know what type of noodles you want. We end up waiting about 40mins. Broth is excellent and reminds the 80/90s old style.

Lor Mee: 5⭐. Order the Mee and Bee Hoon. The standard comes with 2 chicken feet + pork skin.

Lor Bak: 3⭐. It’s not bad but around the same taste since it’s fried.

Coffee: 5⭐. One of the best in Penang (Kopi-O).

This place doesn't disappoint at all! This little corner in Penang is worth the visit. Prepare to wait for the very famous Hokkien Mee (Prawn Mee). Even the locals come here and.... Wait! But, if you like us, you can have the Koay Teow Theng with Egg, that is also very popular too. The Loh Mee (think soup Noodle) is another favorite. Anyway, just make sure you come. This is Penang!

In my opinion, The prawn mee in this coffee shop is the best among over hundred of famous prawn mee in penang that I have tried. Very strong in flavour. Few large prawns, few slices of pork and fried onion. No vege nor egg given. But, the broth was so delicious entice to finish the drop. The fried onoin when dip into the broth was too good to resists. WOW. 5 stars

Ampang Ban Mee was delicious. Soup was excellent, anchovies was crunchy, mushroom and vege and minced pork all well done. Noodle was teared with adequate thickness. WOW. 5 stars

Wan tan mee also delicious here. Sauce was addictive and everything was nicely done. 4 stars

Fried fish fillet beehoon was OK. Average hawker standard. Nothing special. 2 stars

Curry mee also wonderful. Full of fragrance and u can feel the richness of coconut milk. 4 stars

Fried koay teow just so so. Normal hawker standard. Lack of wok hei. 2 stars

Ipoh horfun way below normal. Not worth trying. 1 star

Here you can get best of everything in penang. From Hokkien Mee, kuey teow soup and char kuey teow. This place has not yet failed me in expectation.

Update Aug 2023:
My review above still stands.

Bustling food centre with offerings that are easy on your pocket. Jacky's Fried Kway Teow is easily one of the best of its genre. The chef just makes it look easy. Those looking for gluten-free options will be catered to by the exclusion of noodles, unlike many of the Michelin-starred hawkers, who can't be bothered. The lime and prune juice blend makes an absolutely delicious drink to wash down the food. Those looking for strong Malaysian kopi will find it here, as the coffee is made the traditional way without any watering down or an overload of sugar.

Tried the kuey teow teng, curry mee and nyonya kuih from here. All are excellent. Curry mee has a generous portion of prawns and pork blood jelly. Nyonya kuih was tasty and had good texture. Kuey Teow Teng soup was also rich and flavourful.

Char Kuey Teow was noteworthy too, with big prawns. Heard the Hokkien mee is superb but the insane queue was a deal-breaker. Might come again during off peak times.

An amazing food court where you can have Chinese Hawker food. Clean, busy and full of locals as well as tourists Drinks served at your table. Highly recommended for you to tried Wan Tan Mee RM4.00 and Hot Pot Noodles RM5.00. There is famous Hokkien Mee selling here but I didn’t try. If you were lucky (seldom open) please tried the Apom (Egg) RM4.00 for 5nos, soft and delicious. My favourite drink there ‘Milo O Peng’ good taste ever. The place open for breakfast and lunch.

Be warned: Must come early (before 8am) to eat the 云来福建面. Be amazed by the big prawns and the super spicy chilli.

A typical traditional China man style kopitiam with quite many variety of noodles for morning breakfast.

Food here is good, tasty and cheap.

If want to order Penang Hokkien Mee, you need to wait for at least 20-30 minutes.

Wan Than Mee stall is my favorite, fast delivery, taste good and cheap.

Usually very crowded everyday in morning hour between 7:30-9:30 am.

The One Corner Cafe located behind Giant Supermarket in Penang Plaza building. It crowd with people during lunch hour. They have a variety of food you can choose from all the stall. But specifically I love the laksa served here. It has the best combination of everything. The price was affordable for a bowl of goodness. This laksa stall located at the entrance door, the first stall on your right-hand side. Should try, highly recommended. They also served variety of nyonya kuih like ketayap, tepung talam, seri muka, pulut taitai, pulut udang, popia goreng and many more.

Went there two times still missed the prawn mee sold out early morning. But other dishes like Kwai teoy prawn or 淋麵 and drinks like Kopi ….. better than franchise cafe
