Restoran Nasi Kandar Line Clear

Still my favourite place to go whenever I come to Penang. Normally I been here brunch time around 11am. No need to queue and all the dishes is fresh. I still love to order big head fish. Add on with squid egg. This place also easy to parking and near with market.

Price are affordable. Came early at 11:40AM. If a bit late, i have to queue a long line. Anybody wanna try nasi kandar, here recommended. Parking are really hard to find, all parking are full but if u come early and should be easy for you to get carpark. Theres a ‘cashless’ parking area around this area too.

Went over on the weekday.

Shop is situated in the lane. Not to be confused with the shop by the corner which claims that they are the same.

Crowd is still alot eventhough on weekdays.

Taste of the food is delicious.

Had mutton, egg and vege.

Cleanliness has been better since the previous incident which went viral.

Had briyani rice with fried chicken and scrambled eggs. Total 13.2 RM.

Came here on a Sunday evening and there was no queue. Portions are large and priced are inexpensive. Pick and choose your protein (chicken cooked 4 different ways, eggs, mutton, or fish), they also have okra and cabbage. Delicious and quick service. All the staff were very kind.

A plate of white rice with fried chicken, Vegetables, and mixed curry costs RM7.50

Papadom is RM2 and the portion is ridiculously huge.

one of best place for nasi kandar in Penang. their Penang nasi kandar is something different from what you will normally get elsewhere & their multiple gravy which pours onto the plate is a must try here. overall it’s a satisfying meal with the outdoor seating & affordable price.

Have been coming here for the longest time. while some say the standard has dropped, to me it’s just convenient, not long the queue and food still taste good and reasonably priced…yums

Feels really authentic and very friendly servers. The Ayam goreng is delicious and crispy. No frills but good food

At dinner just simply the best tandoori sets with naan. Price around 14rm.

Nasi kandar is a popular northern Malaysian dish from Penang, originally introduced by Tamil Muslim traders from India. So you get a good mix of Indian and local Malay flavours on your plate.
I had Tandori chicken with flavored rice (Biryani spices) with some aubergine in curry sauce, crunchy okras and a Lassi for only 23 Ringgits!

Also, when you order "unsweetened Lassi" they will bring you a savoury Yoghurt drink similar to Persian Dugh or Anatolian Ayran, which is absolutely the best thing to have after a heavy meal. Just beware of the fatigue afterwards.

Food is good. Looks clean.
Parking: front no parking. Will get summon. At the back only has an open car part.

Food: try the fish head , mutton and fried chicken. They are great.
If you want faster service, order the fish head and the you can cut queue on your order.

Overall good service

It’s very rare that a mamak guy serves us with a smile so I felt compelled to leave a review.

There was a decent selection of dishes but most importantly they were all flavourful and delicious.

Reasonably priced in my opinion, as they’ve always been consistent with their taste and freshness.

Would definitely come back 🙌

Long queue and hot weather shouldn’t stop you from eating here at least once! The Nasi Kandar is simply delicious.

The place is quite chaotic and the service not particularly attentive, but I guess it is part of the street food experience itself!

I came across Line Clear in a Penang travel guide, and it was touted for making a Nasi Kandar. So absentmindedly I walked in asking for one - but saw that it wasn't on the menu. Turns out it's a pick out what you want rice with multiple curries, with variations of ground meats, seafoods and vegetables. Whatever it is, it's excellent - the whole dish comes together with a great balance of spicyness and tenderness. I opted for the eat out on the street authentic experience and a mango lassi to quash any excessive spicing of my tongue. Service was also friendly and efficient. A worthy try!

Excellent place to enjoy variety of local food. Loved the soya chicken. Everyone are friendly and the service is great. Highly recommended for a good food at a affordable price

Plenty of choices of 'lauk' for the Nasi Kandar.
Inside area is clean.
Probably difficult to park during day time. We came for dinner, no issue finding space to park. Overall, recommended 👍👍

Great nasi kandar experience. The mamak are friendly but if it is your first time don’t be shy about asking what the different curries are. The fried chicken is excellent. Choose the piece you want and the mamak will happily oblige. And if you want banjir, ask for it as the mamak will gladly prepare it for you. And it wouldn’t appear that every banjir tastes the same even at the same spot. Each mamak has their own way of doing it.

Just had to try Nasi kandar here. Long queue on a Saturday lunch time., Food was worth it and food price is reasonable. The drinks however was a bit pricey. Feel that Deen Maju food tastes better. Curry in Line clear is good. Try it at least once.

Take note, the restaurant beside this stall is not part of the shop. Some people mistakenly walk into that shop thinking its the main entrance. Don' think the food there taste as good as Line Clear stall.

Line clear is is open 24 hours. Have late night cravings, this is the place for you.
